I don't know how to express in words what a great experience we had with Sparks Remodeling, and…read morewith Joshua in particular. Five stars is not really enough to get across how happy we are with his work. Earlier this summer, we found ourselves in a position no one wants to be in: dealing with an unexpected family loss. Compounding this situation was the fact that it occurred in a city that was not our own. Moving forward from this experience was going to be hard enough, but it also came with some pretty substantial home repair/renovation projects that needed to be done ASAP. Doing so in a town that is not our residence, and with contractors with whom we were not familiar, made it even more challenging. Through Yelp, we took a chance on finding a contractor to do a test run with a small but time-sensitive project, and Joshua came through with a really great bid and personal touch. His communication was exceptional, and his personality stood out in both in our online communication and again when we met in person. Most importantly, the care and commitment he brought to even this small project, plus the humanity and empathy he showed us during a really difficult time, made all the difference. We relayed to him the scope of the home repairs needed going forward, and asked if they were within his comfort zone. When he responded positively, we told him he was our go-to guy for every project needed on that house, and that we trusted him implicitly to do the work independently. He didn't let us down. He sent photos of his progress and gave us honest appraisals of what could be done, and what prices would be for labor and materials. He worked on a tight timeline and got the work done on time and on budget. Moreover, the quality of the work that he did approaches the level of artisan, not just contractor, to the point where I'd employ him for our own home projects if it was at all possible (it's not, sadly). I don't know what else I can say to relay our impressions of Joshua. He's the best contractor I've ever worked with, and I wish him nothing but success in the future. If you get a chance to work with him on a home project, consider yourself fortunate.

This project occurred in December 2023, and I am just now getting to writing a review, which I…read morewanted to do since then, and even more so, having spoken to Anthony Buckley, Owner of Central Oklahoma Handy-Hand Services, a couple of times this year in 2024. He deserves a review and an excellent one for his work on our rental home. It was cold, of course, given the month of our plumbing issue; our tenant called with backup problems,so we called a couple of plumbers. They wanted $4,000 to dig up and repair the plumbing pipe, which they said was Orangeburg, plus we would need to cover the cost of replacing the fence. They said they would need to come down on top of being called back to reclean the line 2 weeks earlier. So, we went to the Nextdoor App and asked for help getting this job done. Anthony Buckley reached out following my post on Nextdoor and came straight over with pick and shovel in hand, ready to help with the hand digging and look out for underground cablies. WOW!! He not only helped to dig out the deep plumbing line going out to the city main line by hand shoveling from the house to the backyard fence line to replace the 'cement pipe', which was NOT Orangeburg, that the plumbing company told us had collapsed, creating the plumbing issues. We found a connection that dipped at the connection over time, and from what Anthony shared, it could have been me creating this breakage and dip where the seam was by me placing an above-ground pool on top of this line in this exact spot some years ago. Anywho, this dip allowed the pooling of the water/tissue. Therefore, every so often, I had to have this pipe cleaned out by the same plumbers who always said it's tree roots - WHEN it was a dip breaking the concrete connection, pooling water/tissue that needed to be repaired by lifting the pipe. Since we started digging and ran the camera down the drain to find this so called collaps and saw what the issue really was, we decided to remove the cement piping and replace it since we had almost reached the pipe. Plus had this massive dig started with the machine we had already rented that could only go down so deep. Anthony was to finish digging down to the pipe. My husband and I went to grab lunch, and when we returned, he was not only finished with the dig but also had pulled up the cement pipe by himself and started laying out the PVC piping we had purchased. WOWED Us Again. Such a professional young man who went above and beyond and also helped cover up most of it before he left when he was only to do the hand-digging for us! We give him a bonus for the additional work, which was appreciated. I highly recommend Anthonly for any project you need regarding handly man work. He can do almost anything, from speaking with him about other skilled work he has done. I'm not related to Anthony, and we do not employ him, but I respect him for his hard-working ability, knowledge, integrity, and skills. ***** You might find more reviews on the Nextdoor app or other apps, but if you need help with small or large jobs, call Anthony at 405-589-6568. PS: We did rent this small excavator digger in the photo, and the man in the photo is my husband deciding where to add another cleanout. I wish I had captured more pictures showing Anthonly's work.

I hired this company for a light kitchen remodel that included cabinet reconfiguration, cabinet…read morepainting and backsplash install. We started the project on October 14th, agreeing to an estimate of $11,800, and the project ended 6 weeks later with a final invoice of $15,500. The project was left unfinished, and the franchise owner ultimately refused to return to complete or correct the work left by the service technician. I urge you to read my experience below. This company does not act with your best interest in mind. * Painting was left incomplete in multiple areas. Entire sections were missed, not just touch-ups. * Custom cabinetry was not finished or structurally sound. The top was not secured, interior backing was missing, and paint was incomplete. * Backsplash installation had inconsistent grout lines, visibly misaligned tile rows, uneven cuts at the ends of runs, and no Schluter edging. * We were charged over $1,000 for masking and protection and removal, yet paint overspray was left on walls, doors, and personal property throughout the space including my kids' toys and bikes in the garage. * An electrical outlet behind the oven was left unsecured, hanging freely with no attachment to framing hidden behind my stove. This is a basic safety and installation failure. When it came time for the final payment, I told the office on a Tuesday that I would bring the final check on Thursday because I had questions. Thomas called me and told me that was inappropriate and disrespectful and alluded to civil litigation. He personally came all the way to my house to collect final payment. While there, he acknowledged that additional work was required to repair and complete the project and committed in writing to creating a repair plan as all work was the Done Right Promise warranty. Over a three week span, he successfully avoided me until I showed up to their office unannounced asking for answers. While there, the owner decided his team would not return to my home, saying I would be "too difficult" or "micromanaging" and that my standards were too high. He initially offered me a $4,000 refund, however $2,000 of that was from a discovered billing error that was only revealed because I continuously asked about the large discrepancy between estimate and final invoice. So I was getting $2,000 to finish the project, even though he charged me $2,000+ for the backsplash, $1,000+ for tape and masking, and $848 for a final punch list even though he never sent someone back to my house to complete the punch list. I eventually escalated to corporate, but corporate said franchises are individually owned and operated, and corporate cannot force the franchise to do anything. They can only 'strongly suggest' courses of action to the franchise owner's business coach. So in my case, the owner, along with his coach, decided not to honor the warranty nor provide a refund for what it was going to cost to repair and complete the work, and corporate won't do anything. After several weeks of refund discussions, I eventually proposed a $6000 refund to part ways and waive my right to the warranty. The owner's response to me was 'Thanks. A check will be in the mail." When the check came, it was for $5000! I emailed the owner and asked why it was $1,000 short, and he ultimately decided that $5000 was enough. Again, the owner, his coach and corporate offered no explanation at all. The owner eventually said it was simply a negotiation tactic to send me a check for less than what he agreed to. If you made it this far, I hope you think twice about moving forward with this company and the Neighborly brand. Ultimately, I have to take responsibility for this as I did sign the document saying work was complete. Though I was under the impression I had to do that to trigger the warranty. This franchise simply does not have the skillset for large projects. If you need a light bulb changed or a ceiling fan hung, I'm sure they're fine. From the reviews, it looks like they install killer doggy doors. Also, do not rely on the Done Right Promise as a safeguard.
