I called this company because my wife and I have a home in Weatherford, OK we needed the exterior re-painted. I was upfront from the beginning that the home was located in Weatherford and asked if the company could still travel there and do the work. The lady I talked to told me they could do the work and asked me for the address. I told her she could get outside pictures of the home, front and back, from Trulia or Zillow, since my wife and I had the home up for sale briefly before deciding to do some work on it. The lady called me back later and told me the estimate would range from $5,000 to $6,000 and asked if this cost was acceptable. After saying yes, she told me the company would send a man to Weatherford for an exact estimate, and I would get the estimate by Friday the next week. Friday arrived and no estimate, so I called the company and was told the man who was supposed to go to Weatherford was driving a rental car and didn't want to make the trip. Apparently his car was in the shop. I thought this was interesting since most paint companies have company vehicles for the employees. Anyway, after telling the lady I already had two estimates from other companies and was waiting on Legacy's estimate, she informed me she would call me back with information about what the company was going to do. I received no call that Friday, but I was called on the following Monday. The excuse I received was the same - rental car, other car in the shop. Again I told the lady I had two bids and was waiting on Legacy. The lady told me she would talk to the owner and would call me back around 1:00 pm. I got the call, but was now told the owner would not do work in Weatherford, OK; too far. All this after being told upfront Legacy Painting would do the work in Weatherford. For me, this was a total joke and a waste of my time, not to mention it was very unprofessional and inconsiderate to lie to a potential customer. Bottom line, if you can't do the work, tell the customer upfront and don't waste his or her time. At least I have paint bids from two other companies in OKC willing to travel. One good thing came from this experience, now I know who not to call when I have my OKC house painted on the outside; which will be soon. read more

I found Legacy online after I had a bad experience with another painter. The first thing I want to say is, the owner came to my house and did an estimate. Kevin, was very personable and even itemized things that I wanted to get done at a later date. Not only did they fit me in to do my sons nursery, they also fixed a cabinet for me. The service was great. Jeremy, is who ended up painting my son's nursery for me. As a pregnant mama I felt very safe, they were extremely professional, and Kevin and Jeremy both called me after the job was finished. I can not tell you how much I appreciated their service. I will be using them again, and referring Legacy to my family. read more

If only zero stars were an option, Legacy Painting surely deserves this designation. At first, I was very impressed by the perceived professionalism. Great website, fast quote, and a stunningly gorgeous gallery of work. I had initially contacted owner Kevin in November of last year regarding a quote for some interior and exterior house painting. Living in Shawnee - and he being in Edmond - wasn't seemingly a problem as he not only "has rental homes in the area but also family." So, he initially arrived promptly and professionally and gave a quote with the caveat that he was extremely busy around the holidays and a better time would be in the spring. Well, fast forward a few months. Contacted Kevin again and he agreed to come back and look at our property again and get the ball rolling. He said he would be there the next day at approximately 4 p.m. - no problem at all. Well, when said time approached Kevin was nary to be seen. After waiting until well after 5 p.m. with no Kevin in sight, I called his number. He answered and acted as if he had no idea who was calling him and then said his wife had had "an emergency situation," and that he had totally forgotten about it. Ok, I can live with that. He then went on to elaborate that he had no idea when he would be able to be in the Shawnee area and that he was at least "2 months away" from being able to do any work and that he was "swamped" and "overwhelmed." with projects (the day in question his wife had an "emergency.") He then mentioned that Shawnee was "so far away" and a good 45 minutes from his location. Seriously? With all of your rental homes and family in the area Shawnee is now too far a drive? This guy had more excuses than a pregnant nun. I mean, had his wife taken ill, was he swamped or had it just totally slipped his mind? He sounded like a flustered school child attempting to make up stories in order to stay out of trouble. And, if you were two months away from being able to do any work why the prior day were you so enthusiastic about the proposed job? So, I politely told him I would just find someone else. All in all, just another typical, unreliable contractor, promising lots, delivering little and prone to having "emergencies" crop up. I'm actually glad I didn't hire this guy or his company after this as this was just a tad bit too shady. Oh well, I'll spend my $8,000+ painting project with someone who is eager to have the work. Overall, completely unprofessional with questionable stories and a cavalier attitude about work. If one wonders why contractors are so reviled, take no further look than at Legacy Painting. read more
