Have passed this shop many times but have never gone in as it is so plain looking that you wouldn't think of popping in when you have so many other dazzling shops that calls out for yr hard earned cash......
However as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover or a restaurant by its shop front...
The inside of the restaurant was as plain as its outside but the food was anything but...
We ordered the Banh Xeo (Pancake) and was pleasantly surprised...most vietnamese restaurant will bring out a huge looking pancake that is packed with bean sprouts and a miserable amount of prawns or prawns which are so tiny that u need a microscope to find them but here, once u cut into the pancake, u see the prawns and julienne of pork coming out of hiding.
We ordered a salt n pepper fried mixed seafood and again were greeted with nice serving of mixed seafood of prawns, fish and squid, all lightly battered n deep fried to perfection with a nice amount of finely diced lemongrass to give it a unique flavor.
The last dish we had was the beef curry with glass noodle, fungus and peanuts. The flavor was good but they should prob use a better cut of beef or make the portion larger for the price that they were charging.
Overall, the food was good and tasty what Vietnamese food should be tasty, fresh n light !
I should point out that noise was deafening inside as it just kind of gets trapped and unfortunately for us, there was a table of 5 where one of the ladies sounded like Fran from The Nanny! She was LOUD and OBNOXIOUS!! Everyone else spoke softly except for "Miss Fran" who never stopped talking once she sat down and basically regaled all the diners with her story regardless if we wanted to hear it or not!!!! Other than that, I would definitely go back. read more
