I will admit to being on a bit of a high horse about restaurant up charges. however credit card up charging seems to be practiced only in the Charleston area. I am resentful of being gouged. in this instance, Tasty Thais base prices are on the high end of reasonable. so, I suspect they do not " need" to upcharge; they are doing it because it has become common practice and customers accept it. especially when it is well hidden.

You know you've been to an awesome restaurant when you walk out with a circus in your mouth. The Mrs. had the garlic chicken. I tried the basil duck, which was amazing. The menu is abundant and I can't wait to try their sushi menu on our next visit. Even better was the service. Our server Kat treated as like family from the time we walked in to the time we left. Highly recommend. Three thumbs up in five stars from us.

It is the best I've had in years....and I've tried it in many different places. We love that they also have a Laotian menu. My husband especially likes the Larb. Pooped in at 8:30 and saw they were closing at 9, ordered a pad Thai chicken and it came out super fast. Server was friendly too. Inside feels a lot nicer than you expect for the price point. I offered my food Thai hot, and I have mostly stopped eating hot foods like I used to. It was really perfect, hot Thai is the best because it doesn't make your mouth feel horrible, but I was pouring sweat and tears and felt my sinus draining, and it was fantastic. Nice big generous serving too. Speaking of feeling good, walking out the door with an entire second meal in a box and total bill under $20 including a good tip felt amazing. Nice to see a place delivering a good value on food. Glad I stopped in! J.Ja

The restaurant itself is very casual but nice enough to eat inside (you can do to go if you prefer that). I had the drunken noodles with tofu, and he had the red curry with chicken. These are our go-to items at other Thai restaurants, and it helps to have the same dishes to compare things. The drunken noodles had a delicious basil taste, and the red curry had a slow heat that builds. I got my drunken noodles at a spice level of 4, and my husband had a spice level of 5 or 6. Both were delicious! If you are vegetarian or gluten free, they have a special menu to denote those items, which is nice. I looked at the vegetarian menu but ended up just going with the drunken noodles with tofu. Still, it's great that they happily accommodate dining preferences. I had leftovers and they were packaged nicely and reheated well the next day. The TVs in the restaurant were also tuned to football, so we didn't miss out on the first Saturday of college football season.

My husband and I ordered takeout to try a few different items: fried rice, lo-mein noodles, egg rolls, chicken fingers, beef sticks and cheese wontons. The red "duck sauce" we got is not the kind I am used to and tasted like liquidy-watered down ketchup to me. Needless to say, I was not a fan. The rice and noodles were my favorite! Both tasted light and almost "healthy" in comparison to how heavy & greasy they can be from other places. The beef sticks were also great; much more flavorful and tender than expected. I would definitely order from here again :)

We initially went there for the hibachi and enjoyed the food so much that we had to go back to try other things on the menu. Between my wife and I, we have tried the steak and shrimp, and just steak hibachi with fried rice and have been impressed with both. From there we expanded and tried their wontons, and their onion soup, both of which have been delicious! The soup can be a little spicy or over seasoned at times but it's a great appetizer to share while you wait for the main course. My sister has tried some of their sushi and said it was really good as well. My favorite has become the chicken teriyaki dish with fried rice. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. As a vegan the menu is easy to navigate, and the service is above and beyond. We ordered a rice bowl with red curry tofu and subbed the vinaigrette for the almond tahini dressing. While waiting for our food Cameron was so hospitable continually checking in with our table. This is a casual business with no table service however the staff regularly checks in on the tables and are extremely attentive. My rice bowl was deliciously saucy. I also added some hot sauce for a little kick. I loved the variety of vegetables which felt like the perfect refuel after enjoying fun in the sun. My husband ate his banh mi so quickly I didn't have a chance to take a bite. Clearly that was a winner. The sweet tea was just the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely order this drink again next time. We had the best lunch at Bon Banh Mi and cannot wait to return again next year.
