Fried rice with fried tofu -- delicious, and even better the next day!
    Gillian C.

I went on a night that was takeout only, but I had one drink at the bar (they have liquor -- not just wine and beer). The nice bartender made a great margarita -- not too sweet like so many other places make. I ordered Tom Kha soup, fried rice with fried tofu, and spring rolls with peanut sauce (vs the sweet & sour sauce usually served alongside them). I had read online that their fried rice is incredibly good, and that led me to choose it. I tried one of the two small spring rolls in my car before I even drove off, and it was hot and fresh from the fryer. The peanut sauce was the thick kind (vs the thinner kind that's used as salad dressings for Thai green salad). Yum. When I got home and checked out my order, I did have one disappointment. Not sure why, but my soup was filled only a bit above halfway in the container. I wasn't happy about that. The rice, however, was SO good. I loved it the next day even more. I added chili crisp I had in my cupboard, and it was so fantastic I want to eat it weekly. Thaicoon has been in its spot since 1985. Yes it could use some updating inside, for sure, but the food is great. I heard my food sizzling in the kitchen while I sat and waited. Fresh and delicious.

They recently started back in dining after a long hiatus. The prices and serving sizes are great. I think the chicken pad Thai gets a bit too sweet for me towards the end but the chicken friend rice and shrimp fried rice are delicious. Every time we go or order takeout out they never have the wontons or shrimp rolls. I am not sure why as we've tried lunch time and dinner time. Inside is not decorated over the top. They have been around for a long time and it looks the exact same from the 90s according to what my mom says. The ladies who serve are always very nice and check in often.

Per the other reviews, yes the service is slow but the food is absolutely out of this world delicious. I drive down from north Florida to come down here frequently because of how amazing it is. My family and friends have been costumers for the past 30 years and it is a North Palm gem. We love you Thaicoon!

We love the food. We have been going for over 25 years. We were devastated when it closed during Covid and totally thrilled it's back.

Horrible food and service was even worse. This used to be a great restaurant a decade ago. But not anymore. Disappointing!

A huge amount for the $31 price tag but worth it. I wish they'd add more veggies but still an excellent dish. The vegan gyoza dumplings were delicious. Slightly charred and melt in your mouth. The bad - seaweed salad at $9 was mostly shredded lettuce with a little seaweed in a margarita (?) glass to make it look like a lot. I like seaweed and was disappointed that this had such a small amount. The ugly. I came after the lunch crowd rush at 1:00. There was a booth available and waiter would not seat me there because he said it's for larger parties. So he sat me underneath a fake stiff Christmas decoration that was cutting into my neck and back. Very uncomfortable. During the half hour I was there a single woman was seated there and three more booths opened. So this experience was uncalled for. I left the waiter a 15% tip where I'd usually tip 20 for lunch. And by the way the reviews saying tip automatically added are incorrect. You get a suggested tip starting at 18! My waiter today is reason tips should be discretionary for service received. The fresh salad came first. Then the California roll. It was the best California roll, I've had in a long time. Perfectly rolled and balanced. Cold and delicious. My garlic chicken was very good, full of vegetables and with rice on the side. My only suggestion is that the sauce needs to be a little thicker with more garlic. I appreciate and liked the presentation, it came in a small bowl instead of on the plate with the rice. Highly recommend you give Kati a try.

They have so many options for food-- almost any type of Asian food, you can find here! They have everything from Sushi, Ramen/Pho, boba, and Pad Thai. We tried the fried duck Kao soi and steamed tofu drunken noodles. Both were phenomenal! The fried duck Kao soi was one of their specials so we are so glad we got to try it. They were both so flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to Thai/Asian restaurants in this area!

The lunch special was such a great value and everything came out to about $32 for both of us, including a nice sized salad, a vegetable spring roll (which was a pleasant surprise), and generous portions for the entrées. My mom had the shrimp with vegetables, and I ordered the garlic pepper tofu with vegetables along with a Thai coffee tea. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Very extensive menu that has something everyone can enjoy! Having been to Thailand a few times, I was skeptical on how authentic the "street food" section was, but was pleasantly surprised with the larb, which was cooked perfectly and had the right balance of tangy and spice. Even though I ordered it max spicy, it could've been spicier (I think they were trying to go easy on us...) We also ordered the summer rolls, the pad thai with duck, and the volcano chicken (essentially was fried chicken in a sweet and spicy sauce over steamed veggies). We absolutely loved the duck (incredibly crispy outside and tender / flavorful meat inside) and the pad thai (not too oily, and full of flavor from veggies and egg) - both as separate meal items and together - also presented beautifully! The summer rolls were a big hit too! While there is plenty of seating - it is fairly popular, so would recommend calling to make a reservation if you want a booth or a specific time. It is a large room with some fun decor as well. Service was very welcoming & friendly, albeit a little slow (our meal was 2 hrs from sitting down to paying check), so make sure you aren't in a rush or let them know ahead of time.
