Nope.. Nope. This is not Thai food. I came here for dinner and ordered what I normally do at any new (to me) Thai restaurants -- pad thai. For protein, I got chicken and shrimp. Aside from the orange hue the noodles had, there was nothing else "pad thai" about my dish. If anything, my pad thai tasted like ketchup, which should never be the case. My BF ordered his usual - pad kee mao aka drunken noodles. Again, this dish was severely lacking. First off, the noodles were way over done. The noodles did not separate, instead they would break when we tried to pick it up with chopsticks. There was not enough basil, which is an important component of this dish. It just did not taste like drunken noodles usually taste. The service was lacking as well. We sat up at the bar to catch the game. It took quite a while to order our drinks. My thai tea was probably the only item that taste like it was made correctly at our visit. I am perplexed by the rave reviews this place gets. My friend and I just returned from the soft opening of Thai Time (we were the first customers; how "hipster" is that?). A little isolated from some of the more restaurant-heavy areas of Binghamton, this is a place to keep an eye on. The decor is great; small brick building, excellent decoration, and speakers so they can play Thai music. They're still working on a playlist, but what they were playing sounded great to me. Our waiter was awesome. He had the perfect personality, making jokes, recommending items, and answering our questions, whether they were about the menu or future plans for the restaurant. We split an order of Pepper Shrimp, 4 shrimp wrapped in thin breading with a subtle dipping sauce that complemented nicely. That was only $5. For the main meal, I ordered the Drunken Noodle (which our waiter backed up by telling me it's one of his favorite dishes), and my friend ordered the Red Curry. Every noodle or curry meal comes with the choice of chicken, beef, tofu, and shrimp. We both went with the chicken. Each dish can also be made with a spice level of 1 to 5, pretty typical for these kinds of restaurants. Most are level 1 or 2, but after our waiter told us that the menu levels were mild, my friend got his level 3, and I level 4. Both came with a small salad with peanut sauce in a side dish. The sauce was good, though my friend liked it more than I did. As for the main course, I LOVED my noodles. Thin cuts of chicken, sprouts, baby corn, and a great combination of spices, all blended with thin rice noodles. There was a side of rice too, which I honestly ignored for most of the meal as I focused on those delicious noodles. My friend enjoyed his curry, and we both agreed we'd go again, but my noodles were definitely the better of the two. They were clearly working a few kinks out, what with the soft opening; our waiter forgot a few things (he brought the curry, then came back with the rice 10 seconds later), but nothing major, and nothing to complain about. I only give it a 4 out of 5 because I'm sure it'll be better in a few weeks. I recommend Thai Time to anyone who enjoys Thai food. They brag that it's authentic, and I'm inclined to believe them. There's something a little different about the food, in a good way, and I can't wait to go back. They're trying to get on the Restaurant Week 2012 list, so keep an eye out, but either way, go sometime soon and enjoy! read more

Wow have things changed since 5 years ago. This place opened when I was still a student at Binghamton and in my opinion it was much better then. I was surprised to see that the restaurant expanded to now have a sushi or Japanese side. When my party and I walked in, we awkwardly waited for quite a while for an employee to even acknowledge us. The host was also behind the counter and hadn't greeted us either. So right off the bat, the service wasn't great. The food was mediocre. However it was freezing inside during our visit and we all kept our coats on. Food/Drinks: the Thai iced tea is amazing. The curry puffs are delicious, as are the crispy spring rolls. The summer rolls are decent but nothing special. My pineapple curry was good but VERY SPICY, a little more than I was expecting but I should have asked first. Every time I've been to Thai Time (which is probably 5 or 6 times) I say NEVER AGAIN. Somehow I always end up giving them another chance because their food is genuinely good... but I can honestly say I have never had worse service at any restaurant I've ever been to. When everyone else's food comes out a full 20 minutes before my one measly sushi roll, there is something deeply wrong. This is the second time I've had this exact issue. I'm not sure what's going on with communication between the kitchen, sushi bar and servers but it seems to be nonexistent. And NO, one comped fried ice cream doesn't make it any better. Poor. I had the Yum Seafood Salad (picture uploaded), which was 1 of 5 stars. For vegetables, it had mainly iceberg lettuce, onions, and green peppers. There were 3 shrimp, 2 mussels, 3 scallops. There was likely calamari - I found 2 chewy things. The sauce had a shallow flavor, and was overly sweet. My mother had Ginger Delight with tofu. The tofu was unseasoned and tough - it arrived warm, not hot. This dish was also 1 of 5 stars. VALUE: 1 of 5 stars. Poor. Lunch dishes were $10-12, and seemed of low quality ingredients. ATMOSPHERE: 3.5 of 5 stars. Above average. The back seating area overlooks the river, and seems modern and of fair quality. The apartment visible next door is run down, and a building is abandoned. Places always charge, so that was very nice of them! I'm not a fan of thai food in general. I've been to so many and I hate all of them: mainly the combination of sweet and savory. The sushi roll I got was a mess and looked like a child made it. But it still tased good. I had an amazing spicy beef salad. But there were the ends of romaine hearts in it. And there were still seeds in the bell peppers. Those were not nice to chew on. The portions were very big and I thought the prices were very reasonable. Been there several times now. The atmosphere is nice, they have a great back patio it overlooks the river for when there is good weather. I love sitting in the bar area it's bright and inviting. Staff has all ways been quick and kind. We normally try to go on half off sushi night. So It can get pretty busy but we still get served within a reasonable amount of time. Food is amazing. I don't like writing non great reviews so read with Skepticism . Maybe skepticism is not the correct word here. I do like Thai time and what it's done for the area; brought something nice and fancy on the river . It's a great location and food is not bad. From what I've had off the menu and the times I've been here I get mixed reviews because the food to me is always on a lower end of "so so" . I always tell myself I don't come here for Thai food but for the view but then again I do like good food with a view. I can't speak for many people but only for myself and I'm always looking for places with amazing food and am always sharing those places with others. Do try this place. I still have them 4 stars cause their sushi is pretty good and the dessert is delicious. First off, the hostess was very rude with how she talked to us like we were bothering her and she didn't greet us or smile. We had a 30 minute wait time and we've been waiting 20. Her friends walked in without a reservation and they got seated immediately after they convinced her to give them a table which I thought wasn't fair to the other people and myself waiting closer to 30 minutes as well. We finally got a table and our waitress was very nice . Our food was mediocre and kinda cold. I know it's restaurant well, and it's busy but still a bummer. What an absolute nightmare of a restaurant this is. A party of 5 of us had dinner here on 4/13/19 and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. First, we waited for someone to acknowledge us for about 5 minutes after we came in, all while the hostess was at the counter not doing anything. Then we were told it would be 10 minutes for them to clean off the table that was right behind us. Fine. After being seated 10 minutes later, it took another 10 minutes for the waitress (who was very rude, more on that later...) to bring us water and take our drink orders. By that time we already knew what we wanted to eat, so we ordered our food too. About 15 minutes later the drinks come out, and we were missing two of the drink orders. After another 20 minutes only two of the 5 sushi rolls that we ordered as as part of the dinner came out. Another 10 minutes go by and another 2 rolls came out, and they forgot the fifth roll. We also ordered 3 entrees and only 2 of them came out after ANOTHER 15 minutes or so. We weren't in too much of a time crunch, but parties that come together should eat together. After informing the waitress that we were missing a sushi roll, an entire entree, and a drink, I told her that "I understand it may not be all your fault, but the service tonight was really awful." She replies, "You're very rude. I don't know what the hell you want me to do; I have been busting my ass off all night. You got all of your food, I don't understand what you're complaining about. What do you want from me?" She then went on to advise me to leave a bad review on Yelp and not to return if I didn't like it. First, very unprofessional response. Second, we did not get all of our food. Third, yes, you may be working hard, but do not take that out on the customer because of poor management. There was also another table next to us that got up and left after half an hour of not being served their dinner. Overall, the food was mediocre; way too much rice in the sushi rolls, but the drunken noodles tasted good. Absolutely terrible service, I will definitely not be back again. For those who don't know Restaurant Week, it is a week long event where you can eat a choice of appetizer, entrè, and dessert for a good fixed price at any participating restaurant. I ordered something like meat puffs, pho and a cheesecake. I was fond of the puffs which were crispy on the outside and soft n tasty on the inside. The cheesecake tasted pretty good also. As for the Pho, it was pretty ok. The broth was decent-a bit tasty and the noodles and meat were alright. It was fine, but I just have had better pho especially from NYC. Came here for Restaurant Week and expected a little bit of a wait but it ended up being rather ridiculous. My friend and I got seated within 10 minute which was nice but it took 20 minute for someone to take our order. After taking our order, it took over an hour for our food to come out. We looked around the restaurant and it was moderately busy but still that hour wait for pad thai and drunken noodles is overboard. Our waitress was sweet and apologized when she gave us our food. I used to love Thai Time, but it's gone downhill, especially the service. The food was not great and don't expect your order to be ready on time for takeout. I read some reviews online of people complaining that they requested their food in 20 mins and it took closer to 40, so when ordering online asked for it to be picked up in 40 mins. I got there a few minutes after it was scheduled to be ready, and ended up waiting ANOTHER 30 minutes for the food. If I had wanted to be in there for 30+ minutes, I would have just sat down to eat. I wanted takeout so I could just grab the food and leave. When I got home the pad thai I ordered tasted disgusting and I had to throw it out. Total waste of time and money. read more
