I went here on the recommendation of a friend who has a natural fang for hot Thai goodness. The restaurant was quiet when I arrived, but I had finished work early so they had just opened for dinner service. Initial impressions were good, nice and clean, typical bamboo and pattern décor throughout.
The staff were nice, especially the man who took my order. I guess at that time it isn't too hectic so there was a little more light hearted banter between us. I ordered the Jungle Curry, hot, as recommended by my friend. The mad behind the counter looked at me as if I was about to do something stupid but I confirmed I was a bona-fide heat eater. He smiled and left me to wait for my take away.
Fifteen minutes later he came back with my order and a safety tip for the curry when I got home- milk and banana if it became too overwhelming for me. I smiled and went home.
Needless to say that that jungle curry was a volcano of flavorous explosions in my mouth. Each mouthful causing me to break out in sweat beads while I refused to dilute the pure fire with anything. My wife thought me crazy but I thought the food was bang on. read more
