This is a unique and interesting restaurant. As we pulled up. I noticed a lot of cars in the front. Which is understandable. It was during lunch time. Plenty of parking. Quite easy to find. We luck out, as lunch time rush was ending. Several tables opened up and we had choices on where to sit. You seat yourself and as soon as you sit down. We opted for a booth instead of a table. Table looks great and padding on bottom and with hard wood backing. Booth has but more cushion. Either both bottom and back padding. Plenty of tables. In the main lobby or in next room. They have a large flat screen TV that is wall mounted in the corner. The lovely waitress will be happy to come by and greet you. She handed us the menu and asked if we have any questions about it. She made a few recommendations and took our drinks order. Start out with a sweet tea and Thai tea. It was lunch time and was not very hungry but wanted to get something to hold us over till later that evening. And suggested that we try some soup/pho. She said it will fill you up and leave satisfied. Just do not do the super side bowl. You will not be able to finish it. Started out with the Pho Dac Biet (Pho dac biet is a Vietnamese translation for all kinds of special beef variations such as raw sliced steak, beef tripe, brisket, tendons, and Vietnamese meatballs) and rounded out with the Pho Tom (Pho tom is a delightful Vietnamese dish that perfectly combines succulent shrimp, tender rice noodles, and a rich, aromatic broth.) she asked if we would love to have fresh chili? And the other condiments are already on the table for your convenience. She quickly came back with fresh chili sauce and the fresh vegetables. She mentioned that soup will be out shortly. She quickly brought the soups. The aroma of the broth was amazing! Came out good. I noticed that my broth could use a little bit more than the usual sauce to enhance the flavor. However, I made the mistake of adding a bit too much chili sauce. It ended up being too spicy. It was still good. Just over did it a bit. It was good. It was just the right amount. Left full but satisfied. When you are done. Feel free to come to the register at the main lobby to pay. She mentioned that if you wish to save few dollars. She suggested that you pay cash instead of card to avoid the hassle of credit card fee to run it. No Wi-Fi I can see and feel free to reach out if they offer military discount. read more

I've always had a great experience here. Some of the reviews sound like entitled people who expects a discount even though our taxes already funds their whole life... Miss Anne always remember my order and treats everyone like family. She is very well loved in the community and they have long loyal customers for good reasons. And as of recently, only women work here. Jason was cool but I can def understand how his autism would affect his performance. The Pho is THE BEST on the coast. Came in for a quick lunch stop to order my pho to go - the portions were perfect and the prices were fair. I didn't have to wait long and when I got home I ate every bite. I do need to call out that they don't give ANY sauces in your to go bag (which I didn't realize) so be sure to ask for some. I eat in this place at least two times a week for years and I have never seen a bug never have been threatened to tip. Of course I tip without being asked. Threatened to Tip!!! Not Veteran Friendly!! I have NEVER had issues with tipping for quality service provided by any restaurant! Upon finishing my mediocre meal, I asked for the check and a To-Go container. The female stated that I'd need to come to the register to pay. As I proceeded to the cash register, I saw two employees sitting near the register who were both watching videos on their phones. The male employee had also been my waiter. There was a third employee taking an order on the business phone. I stood at the counter for approximately FOUR minutes...unassisted. While standing there waiting to be helped, both of the employees that were sitting and playing on their phones, looked over at me but never acknowledged that I was ready to pay or even offered to assist!! At around the THREE-minute mark, the male employee looked at me and said, "She'll be with you in a minute" and he began to watch more videos on his phone. At this time, there were NO OTHER customers in the restaurant. The woman hung up the business phone and rang me up for $23.43. I handed her my credit card and she asked if I wanted to leave a tip on the card. I said, "No". She said, "Do you want to leave cash on the table". I said, "No". She said, "Why not, why don't you tip". I said, "because I'm not". She then said, "You should tip, you need to tip, he worked your table and you should tip". I said, "Can you process my card for $23.43 and give me my card back?"She said, "No, you should tip". Then she pointed at a sign that said, "15% automatically for tips". At this point, she still had not given me my credit card back. I said, "Tipping is not a state law and I do not have to tip you. Should I dispatch Gulfport PD to your establishment because you are refusing to give me my card back?". She said, "Should I call the police because you are refusing to pay". I said, "No, I am choosing not to tip you but will pay the $23.43". She began to speak to the man who was playing on his phone in their native language and then when he responded, she gave me my card back with the printed receipt. As I signed the receipt, I said, "I will not be tipping you but will leave a bad review for this restaurant.". She said "Thank You". Please DO NOT patronize this unprofessional restaurant. So, this is actually a Thai and Vietnamese fusion restaurant. First time here with the family and overall a good experience. Food was decent but I've had better. We ordered the Thai iced teas, pad Thai chicken, pho tai, and pineapple fried rice and spring rolls. The pad Thai didn't really taste like a normal Pad Thai, like fell an actual Thai restaurant but, it wasn't bad. It still tasted alright and I would say the same goes for the pineapple fried rice. A great Thai and Vietnamese family owned restaurant. An extensive menu with a lot of options to choose from, even some Chinese items. But, I went twice while visiting Gulfport and was highly impressed with the excellent taste and quality of the food. I tried the Vietnamese spring rolls, which were huge for$5.95! These came with a peanut sauce, but there were plenty of other sauces to add in the table. They had fresh gulf shrimp and vegetables wrapped up. I also tried the tofu red Thai massaman . That was a huge plate of delectable vegetables in a very tasteful and creamy sauce! If I'm ever back there, I'll definitely be hitting them up again. And the service was top notch as well! read more

She looks at me crazy after I order just one order of egg rolls . They kept looking at me as if I was stealing from them or something. It was so awkward so I wanted to order a rare beef pho to see if her attitude will change. There hours suck, they close when ever they feel like it. There is not set closed time. You could be driving 40 min to dine in with them, and you pull up to a locked door? That's happen to many of my patrons, not just me. The guy running around had a better attitude, but the atmosphere she created.....smh.... so to all my patrons out there looking for service, this isn't the place to be. Amazingly delicious food, and to me, the service is the best part! Jason, the young server, is friendly, fast and attentive. He makes you feel like family! He greeted each guest as they came in, knew lots of their names and even the food and drink orders of some by heart! I love this place. I've been a few times over the years and I am always impressed. When I visited your restaurant, I experienced very rude attitude by your Asian male waiter. This isn't the first time I have eaten at your restaurant and saw unprofessional attitude from this worker. I am Asian and I asked him for chopsticks, he just dropped them on the table and walked away, I told him thank you but he just ignored me. but he was extremely friendly and outgoing to other customers. Since we were not happy with our lunch at Shaggy's and after a long day sitting in the sun, we decided on our way back to try Thai Lotus. As anyone who reads my reviews, Thai & Vietnamese food are my favorites so I'm usually up to trying a new place. We order the Thai Tea which was good but had a bit too much ice. This is the BEST Thai / Curry restaurant food I've had in sooooo long!! From the hot fresh leaf tea, perfect fresh spring rolls (6 flavors) and a crazy number of freshly made dishes with your choice of rice noodles, Thai noodles, and more. The flavors are really amazing. We had tofu pho among other dishes which was so flavorful we did not add anything. No soy sauces, chili sauces etc. Each was perfectly spiced to our requests. The spicy chicken Pad Thai, Beef Pad Soo Ew (wide Noodle dish) etc. I have lived in Northern and Southern California, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas City, and now the Gulf Coast and have tried Thai food everywhere. Thai Lotus has the best food on the coast! Easily my favorite place to eat. Service is great, I love the server (Nha) he keeps you laughing in between your meal. Anne is so sweet, she would do anything just to make sure you are having a wonderful experience. They all remember what meals you like and how you like it. If you like extra lime or extra sauce with your entree it won't be long until you find yourself not having to ask for it. The Pho is made fresh and especially careful. You will notice that the broth has no fat or fat oils in it, unlike many do at other restaurants. Maybe that's why some people may find it a little different tasting, because it is a healthier made soup. Thai Lotus is my new favorite place. I had forgotten about the delights of Thai food until I passed by a few weeks ago and after enjoying Indian Curry at another establishment. I was here like 6 years ago and was disappointed but I thought I would give it another shot. I understand it has a new Owner. What a difference! Today was my 3rd visit in less than 2 weeks. I am so excited about it that I spent time looking up thaI cuisine online to educate myself. So far I have had a green curry and a yellow curry. Both were big steaming bowls of creamy goodness.
