Things happen but the masseuses spent 15 minutes trying to figure things out and then told me to walk down the street to find an ATM (after they had already lost 15 minutes of our session time trying to work their machine). For the record, they were going to charge me an additional $10 to use a debit card, which is illegal in MA. The law is that it is permissible to provide a discount for cash usage but businesses CANNOT charge additional for clients using debit or credit cards. So the first impression of this business was not great. Regardless, I ended up writing a check (which they were very hesitant to accept for some reason) and we moved forward with the service. The atmosphere was calming and the service ok. I wish the deep massage had been deeper but I understand everyone wants something different. What was frustrating was that one of the masseuses had not silenced their phone so we heard dings throughout our session. Additionally, a call was picked up towards the end of our session, one left to greet a customer who was waiting for their session to start after ours ended, the 2 chatted throughout our massage (which was rude and really distracting), and one left to get a mask after they were sniffling throughout the first third of the session. I hope I don't get COVID. The biggest issue I had and the reason I will not return to this business, is that upon the end of our service, a tip was DEMANDED. Not requested but demanded. As a business owner myself, I was horrified. I left without paying a tip as I did not have cash, did not have another check in my possession, and their downed internet did not allow me to pay online. However, a few hours after the massage ended, the masseuse proceeded to CALL ME MULTIPLE TIMES asking for a tip to be paid. This is incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable. I finally blocked the number. I do not recommend this business.
