Came here for lunch after our massage session. I was a little skeptical coming to Sila Thai…read moreRestaurant because I am very picky when it comes to my Thai food. This place did it for me. All of our food comes with delicious flavors (like it should) and the heat .. thai hot ( Siam Hot) just the way I like it . ... Hot yet flavorful. This Thai place has it . I had the pad pri king.. my boyfriend had the vegetables dish with fried garlic and brown sauce. He love it.. oh they also serve sushi. We had the eel rolls (cooked) , California rolls and miso soup. So .. overall , my stomach was very happy and I am very satisfied. So if you're in town and looking for a good place to eat. You guys need to stop by this little place . The service was also great. We will return to try other dishes.

The food here is fine, but the service is consistently very slow and poor, both getting takeout or…read moreeating in. I've had poor experiences numerous times, but this past time eating in was the most awkward ever We arrive and the place had a few tables available, they were busy for their size, we were directed to sit at one of the open tables, not given menus/silverware/greeting/etc. 10 minutes later one of the 2 girls working(the one who directed us to the table) asked if we had been given menus, we showed her our empty table and she seemed surprised, so the 2nd girl brought them out We ordered our drinks and weren't ready to order dinner and the server said (I am paraphrasing but this is the exact meaning behind what she said) "I am very busy right now with other tables so I likely won't be able to take your food order for 30 minutes or more". My date and I looked at each other and just had to laugh, who says that to a table of theirs? Further, no less than 5 minutes later I see the server very slowly walking around the place, scooting a chair here, calmly wiping another table there, no rush or any kind of reason because... she wasn't busy. She wasn't tending to tables with people OR without, just a lot of slowly walking around. After a VERY long time of waiting, then ordering, food taking a very long time, then refills and other service taking an unreasonable amount of time(and they were dying down, we observed almost all tables were empty by the time we got our food), we finished food and paid around 7pm, the server stood very awkwardly near our table, regularly looking at the watch on her wrist. I assumed she was waiting for the credit card slip to be signed so I handed it to her, she said thank you, and then continued to stand nearby and takes literally EVERYTHING off our table(aside from the salt/pepper and basic table things) and continued standing very close to us, as if she was not able to leave work until we left. We had been there a total of maybe an hour and a half at this point, most of that time was spent waiting on food and drink. We felt like this woman was passive-aggressively trying to get us to leave, so we left. As we walked out the door and walked past their front window we looked in and the woman continued standing where she was, not moving at all, seeming to be in no rush. So she was either specifically trying to get us to leave or she had no idea how rude she was coming across. Either way, just no effort given whatsoever

I am eating leftovers for lunch today and I have to say that they are even better than yesterday…read more We ordered through Uber Eats. I love Thai food but have found many places to have been "americanized". We got the Pad Thai Tofu and Mud Sa Mon Curry with beef. There were a couple items we could do without. The Fried Tofu didn't travel well. Wonton Soup was average. There are several closer options but I can't help but want to go out of my way to eat this again.

PARENTS WEEKEND ADVENTURE!!!…read more Went down to St. Pete/Treasure island for the weekend. Many reviews coming!!! We start with Sawatdee Thai & Sushi!!! We were excited to find a Sushi place a few doors down from where we were starting our weekend with a New Japanese HeadSpa Experience. (Checkout that review as well) We just wanted a quick roll to get something in our stomachs. The interior was nice and clean. It was themed nicely with touches of Asian elements. The Service was great as well. There was no one in the pace as we were there around 1-1:30 on a Friday, but we did see to go orders being picked up. The server was very nice and attentive to us through the meal. The challenge came with the sushi. The rice was hot not cold or room temp. I watched the sushi maker put a thing of rice in the microwave, but I thought that was to replace what she was using to make our sushi, but... NOPE it was for our dishes. It really turned my wife's 2 California rolls and my specialty curry heat = Spicy Salmon roll into the worst sushi we have ever had. The sushi roller needs to realize you should never use warm rice for sushi. We let it sit for a couple minutes to get the rice to be a cooler temp. Then once they were palatable, we ate them. The fish was fresh, but not spicy at all. The roe was such a small portion on the end pieces of the roll. Roe should be spread across all the pieces when it says it's part of the roll. Food to Value ratio: ok. If the rice and citrus heat were as they should have been it would have been a better Value. We paid 40$ with tip for 1 specialty roll and 2 California rolls. I paid less for the same meal at other places around St. Pete. We will most likely hit one of those spots next time, but... AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!
