Best thai food ever!!! Authentic flavors and the portion are great !!!! I would definitely stop again when i come back on the big island. The owners are the nicest, they will welcome you with big smiles ! Definitely check it out if you are driving by.

On our way for a day of hiking to Konas Volcano National Park we see the truck perched on the side of the road along with a local flee market I guess you can call it? Stopped to stretch our legs and hopefully grab a snack. Well... weren't we pleasantly surprised! We see a Thai food truck!!! Yes please! We ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai Spring roll, egg rolls and Pad Thai... Did not disappoint! Locals love the place... they stop in, place their order on their way to run errands then come back.. locals love it, you know it's good... such a great pit stop before a full day of Volcano National Park. Definitely a must!

Homeboy and I were on our way to see the VoLCaNo but forgot to get some GriNdiEz on the way. It was as if the Aloha Spirit blessed us with this last bastion of sustenance before checking out the glow for five minutes. Diverse menu, all made from the same special lady. We spent about an hour hanging out. A++ experience, would buy from again. Cheers, Dave!

Saw this food Truck on our way from Volcano to Place of Refuge, I was hungry an although we initially passed it, I turned around and made our way back. Although it's called Thai Grindz, we actually didn't order any Thai (after a not so great Thai experience yesterday). My aunt and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and Chili and Rice. The BBQ sauce was a little to sweet for my liking, although my aunt enjoyed it. The Chili was not homemade, from a can with some tasty additions. Someone who was walking away said the coconut soup was to die for, so that may be something I try next time through the area.

I've been a consistent customer of Thai Grindz for over a year. I eat there about once a week, and have tried all their veggie options. I've never been let down by Nat & Dave. Their food is always 'ono. I typically stick with the Thai food side of the menu, but you can't go wrong with the French fries. I've heard rave review of the burgers and sandwiches too. Now, let go to the Thai food. Nat cooks up a mean curry. I usually go for red curry with veggies or tofu. You can ask for vegan style, and she's great a getting the spicy level just right. I also enjoy the Pad Thai, which again is available vegan or vegetarian. Just tell them so they know. The spring rolls and summer rolls are a must. I get the spring rolls after long runs, and the summer rolls when I'm just cruising. Super yummy, and amazingly friendly. I'm so thankful that they offer up such wonderful food at an affordable price with fast friendly service here in OV.

Great little food truck with good ingredients, prepared well. They have a good menu with Thai, local and some American food. Try the Bronson Loco Moco, the gravy and meat were spot on!! Plus, they had a trio of Jackson's chameleons to entertain the kiddos.

I was absolutely impressed with Thai Grindz. I would definitely stop halfway to the volcano from Kona at mile marker 89. The curries are spot on and the Pad Thai was amazing. Love the egg rolls. Probably my favorite. Lots of other stuff for the kids too. Hope the best for Dave and Nat.

So sad to report that they are no longer in business. The food and the owners are great but you can no longer enjoy their Thai food!

One of the best drunken noodles I have ever had. Conveniently located near kula kai caverns. The thai iced tea was excellent as well.

As a treat, we had their coconut & mango homemade ice creams that weren't on the menu, but worth every bite! This is in a remote tiny area just off Hwy 11 at the south end of the Big Island. Well worth the stop if you're on your way to Kīlauea or black sand beach.

Around 5 mins after we ordered, we got our drinks and fried spring rolls (both just average). Then, us and the table of 4 proceeded to wait until 30 mins for our food... The entire time, not a single dish was produced. It was weird. Why did it take so long? They didn't have any to-go orders they were cooking for in the meantime. There was just nothing happening... for 30 minutes. While we were waiting, more and more parties came in and some phone orders as well. At that point, they were letting people know it would take an hour and a half. (??????) I know island time is more laid-back but this was very mysterious. Maybe the chef went on break? Maybe they had a family emergency? Maybe they had an equipment issue in the kitchen? Unsure, but it was odd! My expectations hit rock bottom at that point but then when I ate my pineapple fried rice, it was actually really good. Bizarre experience but oh well!

All of the shrimp had amazing flavor and we loved how the rice was drenched in the sauces. The pork was very flavorful as well. Overall 5/5 We enjoyed our food and that was it. We had planned to go to the Punalu'u Bake Shop and this food truck and were pleasantly surprised that they're just across the street from one another! After picking up some malasadas and admiring the garden plants came to this food truck, parked cheerily between a little store and home, with both a shaded eating area and a cornhole games set up in front of it. Unfortunately a few things were out of stock when we visited (no strawberries and burgers I believe) but we were still able to pick up a shrimp sampler plate and acai berry bowl to share (came out to ~$30). While we waited for our order, we enjoyed a spirited game of cornhole! About 15 minutes later our buzzer rang and our order was ready. We took it to the beach nearby to eat. The acai bowl melted quickly and tasted healthier and less sweet than most, if that's your thing! The granola was good. The shrimp plate was yummy with lots of sauce for the rice below (the best bites). We felt that the curry shrimp was the tastiest, the cajun shrimp a bit spicy, and the lemon pepper good but standard. A little fresh salad on the side was a good accompaniment.
