I love Downtown Decatur even though I don't get over here often. The ambiance was charming with hints of Thailand throughout and tables to seat maybe 50-60 people. As usual, there's traffic for to-go orders but most were coming in to dine in for a while. Our group was a party of 7 and the service was delightful. They explained menu options, drinks and even dessert. We started with cocktails, appetizers and finally our entree. We brought birthday cake so didn't order dessert this visit. My Red Sangria was delicious and a generous pour with fresh fruit. I had the soup for a starter and my usual - Pad Thai noodles for my dinner. The experience was very nice however there were some misses - the steamed dumplings were rather dry. Flavors for the curry didn't have a rich coconut flavor. The breezeway from the door (just a curtain) created a chill in the room but it wasn't too bad. Parking: There's limited street parking and the lots are rather pricey. Be advised, take Marta or take a ride-share.

They could do better at packaging as some of our stuff did leak during our ride home. But man, it was so good. Mongolian beef was FIYAAA and savory and onion-y. If your nose isn't running and sinuses clearing, can you really say it was Szechuan?

The service was also okay; the server took my order and came by after the meal to take up the dishes. The broth doesn't necessarily taste like pho, but it still retained the lightness of the soup. It was also very salty. The ambiance was very nice. In theory, this would be a great place to have a quiet and relaxing lunch. The prices at this restaurant is actually pretty cheap in comparison to other restaurants I've been to so that is a plus! Overall, I wouldn't come here again for pho. I haven't tried any of their other dishes, so I can't speak on that, but if you want pho, I'd look elsewhere.

Their cocktails are also really good and definitely on the stronger side. If you're ordering a drink, I'd recommend the Mai Tai! One thing I appreciate is that the food always tastes fresh and comes out hot. However, the restaurant's decor has always thrown me off a little. It has a very nautical theme that reminds me more of a seafood or lobster roll restaurant somewhere in Maine than a place serving Thai food and sushi. I also think the restaurant could benefit from replacing the carpet, as I've noticed an unpleasant odor in the carpeted dining areas during my visits. Because of that, I always request to sit in the dining area toward the front, which has hardwood flooring. I actually prefer that section anyway because it feels a little more secluded and private. Overall, I keep coming back because the food is consistently good, and there are so many dishes I enjoy. I just wish the interior matched the quality of the food a little better!

My score would be lower if that was the case. I've tried this restaurant a few times for lunch, and I've enjoyed it each time. I've tried some of the raw fish items here, and they've tasted surprisingly fresh although I've definitely had better elsewhere (still pretty good for the price!). Recently, I tried their Thai Style Spicy Basil dish for the first time. It definitely could've been spicier, but it's probably made on the milder side for those that may not be able to handle their spice because this dish is typically spicy (I've made it in Thailand myself). I wish that some of the hot dishes could have more spices/ingredients added to have more of the explosion of flavor I'm used to from Thai dishes, but it's still fairly tasty.

Both my partner and I cannot get the taste of fish out of our mouths. I had to throw it immediately in the trash. It's a franchise so don't even bother to try to get help from management when your food is disgusting. It tastes like old shrimp, which makes sense because a lot of fish sauces are made from it. I will never order from here again. That was a nice waste of an hour wait for it to arrive. I've completely lost my appetite. Oh, and this was an Doordash order so it just goes to show how much they care for the food that you're paying extra money to eat after waiting all of the time it takes to get it.
