Ever since I've been around Eagle Rock and saw this place on one of the corners of York Blvd., I told my bf that we should try it. We tried their Yellow Curry and as always, it was bomb! I always end up ordering their fried rice dishes for some reason and have always been satisfied too. Their food has been of good quality for my experience so I'll keep coming back here for as long as they're open. Just last week though on a Saturday night after going to church, they seemed more packed than usual so I'm guessing it was their manager who took our order. I would say he wasn't the friendliest staff I've ecountered there as he kept a straight or serious face the entire time however the younger staff (I'm guessing college students) always do a good job with customer service. Parking is pretty tough by the way so be prepared to park on the street. (they only have a 2-car parking and one handicapped parking spot.) read more

I have only done take out or delivery and every time the order has been wrong. This time I ordered red curry tofu and postmates delivered and it was red curry chicken, which I don't eat. I called and they said they would make one for me and I pick it up, so I went to pick it up and they made yellow curry. Surprised by these reviews... my Postmates delivery experience was amazing. They had the rice wrapped in foil to keep warm, sauces separated from the pad Thai and orange chicken to keep from getting mushy. I poured it on myself. Also ordered sticky rice and mango, the sauce was also set aside to pour on. Biggest complaint is they charged a steep $5 extra just to add mango to my sticky rice order. Not sure if that's standard but it felt a bit overpriced bringing the item to $8 and mango was not ripe. Otherwise the food was exceptional!! Especially the chicken. It's time I write this place I review since I've been coming here for almost a year, about twice a month. We always get their lunch or dinner specials, which include a soup, salad, entree and egg roll. It's a super bargain for just under $7 for lunch, and about $9 for dinner. I live and breathe tofu gawr pao, so delish! One of the ladies there doesn't even have to take our orders anymore, she just knows what we want and never gets it wrong. Only downside is that it can get crowded and the place is small. And if it's cold, there's no way in hell you'll want to eat outside. So avoid peak lunch and dinner hours. Oh, and sometimes they take ages in bringing you your bill because they're so busy. No biggie though, just walk up to the register and take care of it. read more

When they're very busy, it gets a little bad. Sometimes the waitress (which often doubles as cashier) forgets the small requests. You need to ask for the condiment tray. Atmostphere: A for Awesome. Have been here many times, food can be very tasty. However, today was a horrible experience. During this pandemic, wife and I are very careful where we head out for meals. So when we do, we feel its special and go all out. Ordered 8 items, they gave us 7. I didn't notice until I got home since the bag is tied pretty tight. My wife phoned them, and the plan was for me to head back and pick it up, hoping they simply forgot to put it in the bag. Well, that didn't quite pan out. My wife was accused of not being truthful, and the gentleman (if you want to call him that, although he wasn't very gentle), kept insisting we look in the bag and said it was impossible he forgot, (maybe he put it in the wrong bag???... even though every item on the receipt was checked off except that one). Long story short, he refused to complete the order, I don't say replace because there was nothing to replace. After 10 minutes on the phone with him, and my wife telling him why in the world would we lie about missing fried rice (especially after a large order), we just gave up and told him nevermind. Definitely never going back. Anyone recommend another thai place? I would say one star for the service, but the food as well... because how can a meal possibly taste any good after an experience like that??? read more

CREDIT CARD THEIVES! DO NOT EAT HERE! CREDIT CARD THEFT. Yesterday while I was checking out I caught the woman at the register taking the chip out of my credit card to steal it. My card was returned with a hole poked behind where the chip once was and completely bent without the chip.. guess she thought I wouldn't notice. After I got extremely loud she magically found the chip of my card no where near the register hiding in a cup. Luckily I've learned you can't actually get account information from the chip but her now knowing still stole it. read more

I love this place. It's about 2 blocks from my pad, and food is ready for pick-up about 15 mins after I call. The patio is mellow, Singha beer available. Best Tom Kha soup around. Makes Leela Thai food taste bland by comparison, as Thai Eagle Rox doesn't skimp on the seasonings. Try the Prik King Tofu, (green beans). You'll flip out. Great food. read more

I live nearby, sometimes I have to many things to get done, or I'm too tired to cook, or I'm crabby and I order Thai Eagle Rox. They are usually really fast. I've eaten inside once and it was really good! Portions were large, way more fresh, way better like that considering I usually get take out or delivery. The ambiance and lily pads are really cute outside. Vines, lights, etc. My new fave is their Coconut Noodle Soup! I get it with tofu and vegetables instead of meat. I like the Tom Kahr Kai, Fried Zucchini, Tempura Vegetables, Pineapple fried rice (w/brown rice and tofu vegetables instead of shrimp and chicken). Their eggplant tofu is good too, just way too greasy for me. Their Pad Thai is good but I'm MSG sensitive and sometimes it can be intense. (headache, runny nose, bad mood, momentary retardation) Other times it's perfectly fine. Not into their Boba thai iced tea, I love boba but there's was lacking. read more

When we visit my cousin, we go at least once to this restaurant. People are friendly and it's open late (after 9PM). We noticed this year that they have a lunch formula but also another dinner formula that are decent : a small soup, small salad, an egg roll and your entree (smaller than regular of course, but enough for me). The patio is very peaceful with the foumtain even if towards the street. The parking is rather small and symbolic but exists. We had a red curry and a yellow one. Both as expected. My girlfriend and I decided to stay in last night for Valentine's Day and just order food to go, so we decided to try this place out. She had a Chicken Pad Thai, I had the Chicken Skewers and we both shared some friend zucchini. The food was really good and we only spent about $23 dollars and change. I'm a bit surprised by the other reviews on this page because some people have some pretty bad reviews of this place. My only complaint was that the wait was a bit long, but that was due to it being a busy day which is why I give this place 4 out of 5 starts. I would have overlooked the grumpy lady working the front register if her food was as good as the soup nazi on Seinfeld. I went there for the first time today and ordered a papaya salad to go. It was at best eatable, however the shrimp was under cook and tasted off, which makes me question their storing or prepping methods. If only the lady in the front was more warming, I would then consider coming back to try something else that may be better. I am writing this review well over an hour after I was quoted 30-45 minutes for delivery. After calling to complain I was given the driver's number to see what was going on. Isn't that something the restaurant should do? After not getting in touch with this driver who supposedly intends to deliver my food sometime tonight, I called back to say that I didn't feel this was my job and could they please tell me what's going on w/my food. "Ehhh, wait 10 more minute," was the response on the other end of the phone. I'm so irritated and HUNGRY right now, I was tempted not to even give this place one star. We'll see if my food ever comes...too bad for me that I already gave them my credit card number over the phone. Lesson learned. read more

You get what you pay for here. It's got REALLY cheap food, and usually the food is pretty good, but the service is seriously lacking. It usually takes quite a bit of effort to flag down a server, and I've had to go inside sometimes to ask for the check (I like to sit out on their garden patio). That said, outside it looks a bit sleazy, but the restaurant is beautiful, including their outdoor patio decorated with murals and plants. Bottom line: if you are short on cash and want to eat out, this is a good place to go. If you have no problem spending money, you may want to eat a little higher up in price range. read more

Have been wanting to stop by there for a long time. Excellent food and great service. We particularly liked the fried rice, it had a delicate flavor, as well as the BBQ chicken and Pork. For dessert mango and sticky rice..yum. They had a patio on the side that I didn't even know was there. Will visit again soon. read more
