I love this place! Their spicy basil rice is the best and orange chicken is very tasty!

This review is long overdue for this mom-and-pop restaurant. Having lived in the area for over 5 years, Thai Basil has been our go-to Thai restaurant. My family and I love the cozy ambiance, service is always good, and of course, the food is amazing. Depending on our cravings for the day, we have several favorite items on rotation: chicken satay (with peanut sauce), basil chicken wings (we ask for it to be extra crispy), spring rolls, tom yum soup, yellow curry, garlic beef, pad thai, pad see ew, crab fried rice, crispy pork with broccoli, lunch specials, mango sticky rice...I'm sure we've tried more! And yesterday, we decided to try the new Beef stew noodle soup, and it was sooo good! Definitely one of our favorites now. Of course, we'll be back next week for more. read more

We made togo order through Uber Eats for Pad see eew, Thai style BBQ steak, Basil chicken wings and Crispy fish carry with rice. The portions of the food are very generous that we could keep them for another full meal later. All the dishes were very yummy and fast !!! My most favorite was the BBQ steak!!! It was so bomb!! The meat was very tender and the portion was so big enough to share (it came with Thai style spicy sauce which's so authentic) Definitely will go back again if we are in the area. This little hole in the wall has wonderful food. My sister in love and niece and I ate here on our girls day. We shared Pad Thai, some Pad See Ew, Yum Woon Sen salad, and an order of vegetable spring rolls. I've never had the last two until today, and totally enjoyed it. Their Thai tea was the some of the best I've had. This place is very relaxing, our sweet server was awesome and kept us supplied with drinks and everything we needed. This is a hidden gem. It's pretty hidden out in Santa Clarita on Bouquet Canyon and Canyon. Ing Doi in Thai means hill and this restaurant is definitely hidden in the hills of SCV. I always get their roasted duck curry. Of course duck is hard to find out here in Santa Clarita. The pad Thai was tasty and contained the perfect Thai flavors mixed with sweetness, saltiness, and sourness from the lime and tamarind and of course the peanuts and bean sprouts made it crunchy. Fantastic dishes, everything we've gotten so far. The Pad See Ew is highly recommended. The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the prices are good. However one thing I was turned off by was the amount of food coloring in some dishes seems downright dangerous. For example in one soup bowl, there was so much pink food coloring just in the meat alone, that when left overnight, by the morning everything was dyed pink, the noodles, veggies, broth, and even stained the plastic container pink. It was just a bowl of pure pink. So not the most natural or healthy, but good nonetheless. read more

Our new favorite spot and we have been coming here once a week now. The food is delicious and flavorful. We love spicy foods and this place offers plenty of options. Three starts for the good service and correct food order. But I have to say I'm so disappointed in the lack of flavor. This place is really close to me and I love Thai food, so I was hoping it would be a place we could frequent often but the food is so bland. Thai food usually has so much flavor. The curry was bland and personally, I thought the drunken noodles just tasted like tomato paste which was odd. We didnt like the flavor or the drunken noodles at all. I hate to do this, and I almost never do... But I'm removing a star from my rating. I still love the Ing Doi Thai noodle soup, and I still have it as often as I can, but there are other things that affect my rating for this restaurant. First and foremost, about six months to a year ago management made changes and the wonderful, sweet, delightful woman working upfront was suddenly gone, replaced by a far less friendly and smiling person. And in that time, customer service has gone down, as well. More mistakes in orders, more missed requests in online ordering... "Please make it mild," and "no sprouts," and so many little requests like that are being missed. But the biggest insult... The true driver behind dropping a star... I ordered the fried wontons and, honestly, thought I had been given a serving of plain crispy wonton strips, there was nothing inside. There was a fingernail amount of stuffing in every single one time... Seriously, what's the point? I spent $8 on a container of fried crispy wontons that I would get at any other restaurant for a dollar. They should either revise their recipe, lower the price or remove it from the menu altogether. I will continue to go here, because the food is very good (just recently tried the pineapple curry and it is killer), it is tremendously convenient and I can't find that soup anyplace else... But there are now items that I will never order and I will make sure that everything is right before I leave the store. read more

I've had better Thai food in Santa Clarita. I ordered from here through grub hub. They didn't pay attention to the comments in special requests section. The Papaya salad came with LITERALLY two shrimp. One for you and one for me... ugggh. The veggie fried rice came with two pieces of broccoli (this place likes the number 2) and the rest was just ordinary fried rice. No utensils like chop sticks, no soy sauce when I asked for both. Our first time ordering takeout here. Not entirely sure if we'll be back. We ordered Tom Yum soup (shrimp), Pad Thai (Tofu), Crispy Basil Pork + white rice, and Mango sticky rice. We got a FREE Thai Iced Tea because we spent over $40 which was nice. We eat Thai food often and it's not quite what we're used to. The Tom Yum was far from the sourness that it's supposed to have and tasted more savory than it should have been. The Pad Thai was just alright. The Crispy Basil Pork was okay but not the best. Maybe it was because it was take out and didn't travel well but it was not crispy. The one thing that was good was the Mango Sticky Rice but not for $13. It's unfortunate that this is the closest Thai restaurant to us because we hoped this place would have been good enough for us to come back. read more

Partner and I came here for the first time today for an early lunch. The place has adequate sitting and yet it doesn't look cramped. The place was clean and had a nice homey feel to it. We were greeted immediately upon entering with a warm hello and a welcoming smile by a young lady who eventually was our server, Yim. Yim was nice, got our drinks and appetizer right away, and she was on point when she took our order. We had the tofu (extra crispy), the curry panang, and the crab fried rice. All the dishes were flavorful and the amount of food was just right for me! The panang which I had it in mild (level of spice) with tofu was awesome!!!! The crab fried rice had a decent amount of crab and it wasn't greasy. The Thai ice tea was made just right for my taste, it wasn't sweet and over powering. Second time coming to this restaurant and everything was perfect. What a turnaround since new management has come in. The customer service was very excellent. Our server was very kind and the food came out very quickly. The Chicken Satay and Glass Noodle Salad were very flavorful, authentic and had a lot of color. I am a fan of Thai food and this place did it well! I got the Thai noodle and BBQ pork. I don't always get pork but my friend recommended it. They have great prices and a pretty good sized menu also. There was so much that looked good it was hard to decide on just a few things! Btw.. Checking in got me a free Thai tea. It was my favorite part, DELICIOUS! The atmosphere inside was nice, only 1 other person inside so it was a quiet, peaceful meal. You can also just order in from the app if you want to take it home with you. The staff was super friendly and coming here was an overall enjoyable experience. The only issue was that parking was a bit hard to find.
