My husband commented that the burger was "at least better than Burger King" and my penne arrabbiata was nice but the sauce tasted and looked like it was out of a jar. I make pasta sauces from scratch at home so I expect at least the same from an Italian restaurant. The penne was also very overcooked. The salad that came with my meal was nice and the bruschetta I had as a starter was a nice, too. I'd try it again for an evening meal to see if the portion sizes for dinner are a bit more generous and maybe try a pizza or something else they can't make out of a jar. The service was alright, our orders were right but the waitress seemed quite indifferent. We did wait far too long for a drink order so by the time it came my husband had already finished his meal and had to gulp down a £3.50 shandy. They were also out of Diet Coke, the only low calorie option was water.

For mains there are pasta including spag bol and pizza, or burger and fries. Also order a free side of veg or salad. The goody bag is decent with a toy, puzzle book and pencils to occupy them, Adult mains are pizza, pasta, burgers, salads around 10 pounds for a main course. They are fine rather than spectacular. There is a nice atmosphere with 50s music and theming. Staff here are very prompt and friendly, nothing is too much bother.

Uncle Billy turned to me and deviously mentioned, "I'd love to grasp me a durr-burger and a legendary chug jug from this McyDeez!" From there we entered the restaurant and Billy found the love of his life. "Well I never!" he exclaimed before rushing over to Grimace and 'whipping it out' ;). Grimace let out a violent shriek of horror as Billy lunged at him and started 'getting freaky'. The guardian of McDonald's himself, Ronald McDonald then appeared from the bathroom and said, "You cannot smash until you answer my riddles three!" Billy then pulled out his WW2 era Danish Madsen 20mm artillery cannon from his pocket and swiftly proceeded to put at least fifteen rounds down on Ronald's position. Ronald McDonald was reduced to a pulp and Billy returned to 'getting freaky' with Grimace. The police then pulled up on Billy. Billy shouted, "I can't go back to jail again! I may enjoy dropping the soap but it was way too big!" Billy then threw a full rotisserie chicken dinner to the floor and disappeared into a puff of smoke. Don't take your Artillery to this McDonald's kids!

Macdonalds is very easy to get too and you always know what your getting when you go here to eat…read more It is bog standard american fast food that we've all come to know and love. The choice is okay but doesnt really change apart from every so often they will be an offer on and some special edition burger will be brought out. This store is very big and split over two levels. Its usually very clean and tidy and there is always a cleaner wondering around ready to pick up any spills. The queues can sometimes get quite big but everyone knows macdonalds so thats what you expect really.

Wynyard Hall Website's Home Page states it's facilities as:…read more "The premier venue in the North East for weddings, events, conferences and accommodations. Set in it's own beautiful and private grounds, Wynyard Hall has a charm and character that captivates all who visits. Unlike any other venue in the North East, guests feel relaxed and privileged from the moment they sweep over the lion bridge and the magnificent 4-star Country House Hotel comes into view until the time they leave." The only portion of the statement that we as guests experienced truthfully was the beautiful private grounds. We were not captivated by charm and character due to Mr. Cuthbertson's (Operations Manager) presence and poor performance. I could have found another venue in the North East or in the United States that would satisfy my needs. I was never relaxed. I felt underprivileged and unwelcomed the moment I swept over the lion bridge until the time I left. Wynyard Hall is very beautiful and exquisite to the eye and a wonderful venue to receive a captivating look and feel for an event. But do not be deceived. As for it's hotel accommodations and it's services, I was extremely disappointed and give the lowest star possible. If it were up to me, I would not give them a single star. Here's the short version: I was Maid of Honour for The Flynn-Lozano Wedding that took place in November of 2011. The Bridal Party resided in the private housing, The Lodge, the evening before the wedding and also prepared for the day of the wedding there. The night before the wedding (the evening that we paid for) we were without heat and hot water. No one on staff knew how to fix it, no one was able to come solve the problem and a manager nor wedding coordinator was available to contact until late the following morning, the day of the wedding. With other problems like no wireless internet (The Bride and her father and brother scheduled a video chat before she would walk down the aisle) we were delayed and stressed all day. They did give us our evening gratis, but offered us a full price for the second night. When I strongly suggested they devise another offer due to the exhaustion and frustration they put the Bride and her Bridal party through, Manager Neil Cuthbertson said absolutely not. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me he was unavailable because "He's a very busy man." When we were not seeing eye-to-eye, other foul answers he retorted towards me (a guest) were "There are other guests here, you know." and last but not least "This isn't America. You think we owe you something." Mr. Cuthbertson's lack of manners towards me made me feel he is a sexist, a man of impatience and a liar. We were never allowed to speak to anyone else and we had to pay for our second night, exhausted and humiliated by Mr. Cuthbertson. He is a disgrace and embarrassment to the rest of the lovely and wonderful staff we were blessed to work with. This event that we attended was not a birthday party or an anniversary, but a wedding; a once in a lifetime event. We spent over 15 months to prepare for this special day and spent over £966.00 ($1,500.00). Wynyard Hall did not live up to the standards we prepared and paid for. Mr. and Mrs. John Flynn's Wedding took place on a weekday, not a weekend. Therefore, all of our basic requests should have been simple fixes and non-time consuming for both parties. In perspective, we as unhappy guests were not very demanding nor ever pushy to the point of being rude or impatient with any staff member. What we were asking for was extremely reasonable and was always requested, never demanded. We were only expecting what we were promised by Wynyard Hall to anticipate. We were willing to work with everyone who was willing to work with us. Mr. Cuthbertson was the one staff member who forced me to loose my joy among other things. The staff aside from Mr. Cuthbertson each deserve their own gold star.
