Hello, I wanted to…read moretake a moment to share my thoughts about Crunch. Overall, my experience has been fantastic--the atmosphere is energetic, and the staff and trainers are truly outstanding. Their friendliness and professionalism make every visit enjoyable and motivating. I do feel, however, that the gym could benefit from some updates. With new pieces of equipment and some renovations, Crunch could elevate the experience even further for members. These improvements would complement the already excellent team and help maintain the gym's welcoming environment. Thank you for all the hard work you do. I look forward to seeing how Crunch continues to grow and improve!

It's hard to give a low score, but this gym just isn't up to the same standards as other locations…read more First impression, it's in a large plaza next to a soccer facility and a rock climbing gym, so the area has a strong fitness vibe. Parking was easy, with a large lot and no issues there. However, the moment I opened the door, there was a very strong, unpleasant smell. It was hard to ignore and honestly off-putting. I have been to other Crunch locations and have never experienced anything like that. The design of the gym also feels different compared to others. It is very purple, which I personally like, but overall it comes across as a bit dated. The gym just looks plain and doesn't feel like the others at all. I had signed up for a Zumba class, so I went to the front desk to check in. I was simply told I was good to go and to head in. This is the only Crunch location I have visited that did not have me sign in or give out wristbands. I even asked about it, and they said not to worry. The class itself was full, and the instructor was great. That was definitely the highlight and the saving grace of this visit. One other positive was that the group fitness room had a paper towel dispenser. I have not seen that at other Crunch locations, and it was really convenient. I don't understand how none of the gyms offer paper towels in their main gym areas, bathrooms or rooms. It's also worth noting that this location does not have a hot studio for Pilates, yoga, or similar classes, nor does it have a dedicated ride studio for cycling, which is something I have seen and enjoyed at other locations. That said, I do not see myself returning to this location, especially since there are other gyms nearby that offer Zumba classes in a much better overall environment.

I also really liked that they had garbage cans in EACH bathroom stall! This gym has really cool workout sections with specific machines to work out specific parts of your body. For example: Abs & Glutes (Boody Builder) section. A girls only section. VIP stretching room, and a Cardio section. When you first walk in there are really amniotic blue LED lights all around that really give the gym a nice vibe. There's an open concept where the machines aren't too congested and there is a VERY large blue carpet area in the center. The staff is really nice and the employees keep the gym fairly clean for a 24/7 gym. (I love those hours too) More pictures to come!

I do, however, hold numerous different gym memberships through my insurance plan as I travel frequently for work. That being said, when I am home, I am typically at amped in the mornings Monday through Friday. Occasionally in the evenings or on weekends. PROS: Very large gym with plenty of space and equipment. Even during the busy times, it's rare to have to wait for anything and it's usually not long if you do. In terms of equipment they have pretty much anything you can think of for any type of workout you want to do. This includes some really unique machines that I have not seen at other gyms. I enjoy that they have a sauna, even though it is most often closed in the mornings. The gyms 24 hour access is also nice. I don't have kids, however I noticed that the provided childcare service seems to get used by many members, which is a nice feature for them. CONS: compared to the other gyms I visit, this one is much dirtier and far more messy than most. There is a younger Jamaican man who works in the morning and he is the only one I have ever seen clean in the year that I've been a member here. I am usually there for 1 to 1.5 hours in the morning and I see him cleaning the entire time and putting everyone else's weights away. Aside from him, I have never seen another employee there cleaning. Most of the time it is 50/50 whether or not there will be cleaning wipes for the machine, or soap in the bathroom dispensers. and yes, this includes during the staff hours. Much of the staff spends more time socializing than anything else from my observations. I will note that most of the staff is very friendly, but there doesn't seem to be much work getting done. Although Amped has a no tripod policy, it is not enforced in any way what so ever. Not a huge deal in the mornings, but on occasion when I go in the afternoon, they are everywhere and it is incredibly annoying. For those of you that are tripod people, no one cares, no one is watching your "content". What's more frustrating than the tripods is that those same people are generally the ones who don't put their weights away. I have seven different gym memberships, and this location is by far the worst in terms of entitled patrons who don't put their weights back. It's very interesting to me that people who are at the gym too work on their fitness are too lazy to put their weights away and will sit in the parking lot and block traffic waiting for a closer parking spot to the entrance. But I digress. Summary: In my opinion, this gym could very easily go from good to great if employees and members alike were held accountable. But ultimately that is a product of poor management and lack of leadership. But you get what you pay for when you join a big box gym like AMPED. Although there is room for improvement, I do really enjoy this location, the equipment, and all that the facility has to offer. If a messy gym and tripods everywhere don't bother you, this is generally a good one stop shop for your fitness goals.

Youve taken away 1/3 of the floor space on the main floor as well as upstairs to add a carpeted area of which only a few use. While loosing this square footage you've taken away very popular machines and equipment that most use daily. You've jammed the equipment together and made the walking spaces very narrow and Claustrophobic. Upstairs the treadmills are so close together I can smell the guys breath next to me.. I have been coming for at least six years and ever since you've remodeled there has been a giant influx of people which makes it almost impossible to get to a machine. Where did all of these people suddenly come from? The worst part is that there are too few of the most popular machines. People no longer just do their sets and move on! They sit there with their coffee, their phones on the machine before they even do a set. Today I was waiting for the fly machine of which there are only 2, there used to be four, There was a young person with his bottle of water a a 20 pound dumbbell and a cup of coffeewhile he was looking at his phone with his legs crossed like he was in his living room... this is becoming a constant battle. People have no regard for other people's time. They cannot just do their exercises and move on.. you must start designating a safe phone zone where people can go look at their phones, but not on the machines. I don't think that you've taken into consideration that the majority of the people who come to this gym, especially from 6 AM to 1PM are mostly retired people. You took away the basketball court and use that amount of floor space for a particular set of people and from what I've seen while I'm there, there are not a lot of people engaged. You should've taken some of the popular machinery that you took off the floor and put it in that room along with maybe half the equipment that you have in there now that not many people use. Or you could've gotten rid of all the paddleball courts because nobody uses those and created more floor space for more machines such as circuit training. I hope you can make some changes Sincerely Squeezed in

They eventually closed that original location and opened a gym called Coastal Fitness. They added a third partner, former CEO Chris Rondeau. In 2002, they purchased the rights to the name Planet Fitness from Rick Berks who had started his own Planet Fitness gym in 1993 in Sunrise, Florida. He got the name from his daughter's school project, Fitness Planet. Today Planet Fitness is chain of gyms with memberships as low as $10 a month. It has more than 7 million members and is one of the fastest-growing health club franchises in the U.S. The company has around 2,600 clubs making it one of the largest fitness club franchises by number of members and locations. The company majority is owned by private-equity firm TSG Consumer Partners. This Planet Fitness location is in the Planet Fitness Plaza on Powerline Road in Pompano. This isn't my usual gym so I enjoyed checking out another Planet Fitness to compare. Pompano seemed larger and more open than my gym. The equipment was set up in similar locations so I could find what I wanted. Some of the machines that get backed up in my local gym were more available here. They also had four of my beloved iFIT bikes compared to the two my gym has. The only thing I didn't like was it felt very hot in here. I would have appreciated lowering the AC. Like my gym, the Pompano location is also 24 hours which I love. Sometimes I like to come very late on the weekends when the gym is empty so I can feel I little more free in trying new things. This location also has the Black Card area for the $25 a month members with tanning beds, hydro beds, and massage chairs. I barely have enough time to work out never mind lie around so this has not been an appealing upgrade for me. The locker room has showers but that is another feature that I don't care to use. Overall I have been happy with Planet Fitness. I have been going on a regular basis for a few months now and can see the change in my body. The hours are great and I can pop in for as little or as long as I have. The machines are easy to use and they have videos on You Tube and QR codes on the machines so you know how to use them. There are so many ways to work out that I am never bored. I try to learn a new machine each time I come and I incorporate both cardio and weights into my workouts. Whatever part of your body that you want to work on, there are numerous ways to get there. Best of all this gym is not intimidating for beginners but is equally great for the hard core fitness fanatic. People stick to their own thing and you can feel comfortable doing yours in the "Judgement Free Zone." You can download the Planet fitness app that makes check in a breeze, tracks your progress and workouts, and where you can even find home workouts. The app also lets you know how crowded the gym is. I like that it works with the Apple Health app on my watch. So far this is the longest fitness routine I have stuck to and it has seeped into other areas of my life like a better diet and more regular visits to the doctor to keep up with my health goals and to think it all started with the first time I stepped through the door of a Planet Fitness.

When I went back to the desk and said I would like to try it, I was told (with her mouth full) to download the app. The service was terrible in there for cell usage so I asked if there was WiFi, she then said with her mouth still full and spitting food and pointing towards something that I couldn't understand to the wall. There was nothing there. The WiFi info was on the desk. I tried to connect to that and that didn't work. I was so frustrated by how rude the woman was and that I was receiving no help that I left. What she did was disgusting and beyond rude. It's no problem, I am giving my money to Apex Gym.
