This small shop has a ton of fabric types of various weights. The space is not easily walkable. The staff helped me find the best matching material for my budget and project from their PoV. Nice, knowledgeable, affordable. Thanks you to Juana, the Saturday staff. The hours listed in google search were not correct.

Sweet deals and plenty of fabrics to choose from. This place is fabric galore!! I got 20 yards of fabric from here for a project. The business owner was helpful and friendly. Good quality fabric for $2 per yard.

Teensy tiny shop with sweet ladies who know where everything is. Low prices, but a limited selection. Some of the stuff seems vintage but it's all mixed up in a big grab bag. There is not enough room to walk around but they will find what you need very quickly. Fast, cheap, and pretty good. There is no sign on the building so keep your eyes open.

I love this mom n pop like fabric store. Organza $1 a yard, satin $2 a yard, cotton $1, plain fleece $2, cartooned fleece $3, lace 3 yards $1, zippers 4 for $1. Its very small, cluttered and not organized but its cheap and the owner is very sweet. She always helps me locate what I need and has the most patience since most people come in there and nickle and dime her and stay for a long time. Its CASH only. She now taxes she never did before. Parking on the street or back of the building Next to Mr. Rice Has a bus stop in front (basically on the corner of Muskatel & Garvey) Does not have a sign in front DEFINITELY a HIDDEN JEM! hOpE! Its not ruined with me putting them on Yelp, you know tech savvy ppl ruin everything! lol

The inside of the store- not recommended for claustrophobic people

A super small, well-hidden gem of a discount fabric store. It's kind of hard to find things (and even move around) in the crowded store, which is piled floor to ceiling with rolls of fabric... I don't recommend coming here if you have a dust allergy. Even though it's a little overwhelming, the store owner is super helpful and knows what kinds of fabric are in the shop. Each yard was around $2-3 and he gave us a lot of discounts. If I ever come back to California I'll definitely visit this place again.

I called Mike's and got a text from Ann within a day. She was patient and friendly and answered all my questions. She also asked me plenty of questions to narrow down exactly what I wanted and gave me options with prices, including advice since I was considering buying the fabric myself. I put it off for a few weeks and then at the last minute wanted to get it done a week before July 4th so we could host friends for a bbq. I texted her back and they (Ann and Tina) were incredibly kind and fit me into their tight schedule. They gave me a clear timeline and estimate, and were upfront about any additional costs that might come up. In my case, I wanted to reuse the foam and ended up paying a little extra to redo the dakron (buffer foam) but they gave me a heads up so I was prepared. I had one bench and four cushions redone. There was piping, zippers, and straps. And they were in pretty bad condition when I dropped them off. It was finished on time and it came out looking brand new! It looks so good. I'm so happy we went with them. The price they gave us was great and the workmanship was excellent. Tina even took time to meet me when I picked up the cushions to walk me through the work they did. I'm very pleased with the positive experience I had, especially with the hiccups I had with just finding a shop. We'll absolutely be using them again when we redo the rest of the chairs. I cannot recommend enough.

We even learned how to change needles and feet on our machines. The class flew by and by the end, I was ready to start sewing. Went to have a painting framed, that I've had since the 90's…read more It was done by a family member and I am quite fond of it. A pretty good reproduction of an original Gauguin that happens to be in a nearby Pasadena art museum. Well, we paid a visit to Hobby Lobby, as we were picking up some things from nearby Whole Foods. The store occupies Sear's old location on Foothill. It's a huge place and designed to get you to walk around for things as signage isn't plentiful or helpful. Shelves are high so unless you are very tall you need to search around, guess they took that cue from Costco, it works if you aren't in a hurry. We were happy to find they had a framing department and also a fabric area, which, since the sad closing of JoAnne's, I was glad to see for the ghost of my mother who enjoyed sewing. I'm focusing on the Framing department and the friendly efficient gentleman in charge of that department, his name is Theo. He was helpful and friendly from the start. Their framing prices are posted as 50% off, which sounded great, but I guess the original prices need to be considered before seeing this as a good deal. Well, we checked on one style which had always been our original style we felt appropriate for this art work. We visited Tahiti a couple of years ago and and saw some Gaugain copies framed in a similar style, it works very well, so we inquired as to cost and estimated the size as we didn't have the painting with us. It was very reasonable compared to the frame shops we have checked over the decades, yes, decades! It was a very fair price, not knowing the quality of the work was something to consider, but Theo was very efficient and knew his products and was very meticulous. We could tell we were in very good hands. We were quoted, less the 50%, a little under $100 before tax. A very fair price. We were given a "finish by date", and 5 days before that date I gave a call to check on status, I was told it would be done in a couple of days. I was surprised and happy to receive a message later that day from Theo that our framing job was finished and available for pick up. We got over there that evening and Though Theo was gone then, a nice young lady got our finished product for us. It looked very nice. She walked us and the painting up to the lone cashier, as that is their policy, and we waited in line to pay. They did open another register as the line was about 6 people deep. I'm not going to get into their company politics, but over all it was a positive experience, especially thanks to Theo and his friendly, knowledgeable service and framing skill. Thanks Theo!

Wanted fabric taken from it along with new patterned fabric incorporated to create a new patchwork quilt. Was told it would take about 3 months to complete. Discussed in length the types of new patterned fabric she would incorporate as well as marking the squares I wanted her to incorporate from the older quilt. The cost was over $600 and she wanted the entire amount up front. Paid the money, asked her to check In with me on completion date. 1 year later I finally have the quilt. Never once during that time did she check in with me. Excuse after excuse when I would call only to be told check back I, 2, 3, or 4 months. The last time I spoke with her I told her I was going to take her to small claims court if she did not have it done in 1 month. She called 4-5 weeks later and said it was completed. Picked it up and was very disappointed. The quality of workmanship was average at best, there was no new patterned fabric used on any part of the quilt only a small amount of dark solid colors. And to top it off, the fabric that was used on the back of the quilt was also used as a thick border on the front of the quilt and she also used it heavily around many of the larger sewn together squares on the front. She used minimal new fabric. I asked for new patterned fabric from the era the quilt was made to add character and brighten it up and none of that was done. Very disappointed and will never use her services again. Btw: two of the times I called to see when it would be done she said she had been in the hospital. Not once did she call and explain the situation or apologize for the delay. She seemed put out that I was running out of patience. Very unprofessional.
