My husband and I ended up in this drive thru coffee shop for a pick me up afternoon caffeine on our way to San Antonio. I ordered a small skinny latte and the coffee was strong enough to get me through my afternoon. My husband and I bought two small drinks and it was around $8. Texpresso is easily the best contestant for drinks in Gonzales, TX. The employees are kind and courteous, and they will supply you with a replacement drink if you happen to spill it on your way out, or if it is not to your taste. I try to come here every day. I would recommend their iced caramel coffees or their seasonal picks. Be preemptively aware of their use of dark roast, as it could potentially turn one off due to the bitterness. read more

I was in town for the Texas State Junior High Rodeo Finals. I saw this place under construction the summer before and couldn't wait to try it! My husband and I randomly visited Gonzales, TX originally to try out a crepe restaurant in the downtown area. Before we left, I was craving coffee and came across Texpresso! And I must say, I am very impressed by the variety of coffee, tea, and smoothies this place offers. Who would have know this little drive thru has so many flavors of drinks to choose from. I was torn between getting a coffee and a tea so I got both. So glad I did! The Sea Salt Toffee Caramel Ice Latte was the perfect choice and it tasted exactly what I was expecting, hints of sea salt with the sweet caramel. And the best part is the whipped cream is homemade! I love it! Their teas here are also great, they aren't too sweet either. I highly recommend this place for anyone driving thru the city. Let me start this review by saying I had high hopes for Texpresso. The drive thru looks nice and polished, and it's menu looks enticing. Texpresso also prides itself in serving only organic fair trade coffee, which is definitely something I wanted to check out. I'm generally super excited to try new espresso joints, especially if they are brave enough to open in unlikely locations such as the small town of Gonzales. Unfortunately while the facade was beautiful, that's really all it was, artifice: the coffee was scorched and ultimately it all tasted like low grade beans as a result. My husband took one sip of his espresso before putting down his cup and stating that he couldn't drink any more, and I could taste the burnt espresso even through the milk, chocolate and cinnamon that made my Tex Mocha latte. I drank half of my 12oz cup and threw away the rest without guilt. All this to say that this place could be good if the barristas knew what they were doing. Unfortunately it seems like they currently do not. I'm opened to updating my review in the future if the situation improves. We'll just have to wait and see. read more

Wow... I am a coffee and smoothie head if I do say so myself. I prefer a coffee hot or iced, sweet or brewed with every meal of the deal, don't get me start on tea too! We were passing this place on the way to cuero and I was craving some coffee and saw a nice little coffee stop next to the highway. I stopped and got a French vanilla iced laté. The first sip stole me away. It was delicious, cold, refreshing, and bold. I could taste every little part in the drink so well. The lady who served me was nice. The second time I came I got a strawberry creme frap and it was simply delicious! This place I highly recommend for any coffee lovers like myself. When I finished my drink I regretted not getting a large. They might as well hire me there because I'll definitely be coming there every time I go to cuero. The prices are also very fair. The coffee is phenomenal!! My husband and I travel between San Antonio and Houston and when we do we take a detour off the beaten path to grab a delicious coffee from Texspresso, we love it. I want to give this place five stars but unfortunately I'm displeased with the customer service. Every time we've visited, the employees seem unhappy and irritated with the fact that they have to actually work. In customer service we get a short time to make someone smile, so do that. An unexpected gem! I've stopped here twice now on road trips that took me through Gonzales. The menu is creative and full of options for both the serious coffee drink and the "dessert in a cup" coffee drinker like myself. Some of their coffee's are very good. You have to really look over the menu before ordering and ask questions about your drinks. It's not like Starbucks even though they charge like it is. I think the place is way overpriced for what it is. There's no place to go inside which is a downfall to some people wanting the atmosphere of a coffee shop. Pastries are ok but not for price.
