I changed urologist, the new one explains fully and after a colonoscopy, determined there was no need for treatment despite Dafashy's invasive treatment regimen. read more

1 - Absolute disaster of an office I walked out without being seen because this place scheduled three patients for the same doctor within a 30-minute window. The waiting room was packed and clearly running way behind. Staff was rude, unhelpful, and acted like chaos was normal. No apologies, no explanation, just attitude. If you enjoy wasting your time and being treated like an inconvenience, this is your place. Otherwise, save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else. Dr Dafashy, take some pride in your profession. I hope these reviews are a wake up call for how poorly this business is ran. read more

Hackney is an amazing and very talented urologist. However I believe he is so good at what he does that he sometimes does not listen or care to actually hear his patients out 100%.. his office staff is nice however if you have anything done by him you better ensure he sends you the correct medication amount from the get go or you will not be able to get anything else. He prescribes what he thinks is enough or what his partners or insurance or whoever and however that's works tells him too, and that's it. Kidney Stone, stent,blood, spasms, and a 33 year old pipeline oil and gas career worker do not mix well. I am not saying anything bad other than my honest opinion, when my first stent was put it because I had a huge stone lodged in my urether I literally begged for more pain medication and never ever received any, kept getting the run around. We all know the stigma behind narcotics being prescribed but this is not something that isn't painful whatsoever- I suffered for almost a month before I was able to have my stone taken out (yesterday 10-23) thank god. Dr. Hackney you are a badass dr, I would just hope you would listen to you patients a bit more, to me being a younger adult I feel like your majority of patients are older seniors and you've gotten used to that and lost touch with the younger crowds because the seniors don't necessarily ask questions. Most of them are retired and probably stay at home or just live a very slow paced life. I do not, I am at my peak and have a huge pain tolerance, so for me to be begging to have medication to help me and some guidance is not something that's normal.His staff is nice and very helpful, at the end of the day he decides if he's going to send medication refills or not it's not up to them. I simply wanted to write my review and I hope he's able to see it, will probably not change his mind or his ways or perhaps it will. Guess we will wait to find out, once again he's a very good urologist- however I feel the program is cookie cutter in and out maximize the patient load for the $.. my honest two cents. I have been a long time patient of Dr. Schraudenbach and Texas Urology Specialists. I don't know for exactly how long, but it has been years - approaching a decade. I like Dr. Schraudenbach and he has always been helpful, consultative and attentive. He takes his time and listens, asks questions, answers questions and I have always enjoyed my interactions with him. For the last year or so, the business side of this practice has taken a terrible turn for the worse. Communication by phone has become impossible - answering service tries to filter calls, then, if you get to speak with the on-site staff and leave a message for a nurse or anyone else, it will just be ignored. I have not received a call back from any request I have made in the last month+. They have a patient portal, but responses there are slow at best, and the responses I've seen from staff seem to be completely inattentive - as if they barely read what you write. I had elevated levels of a substance in my blood which I have been treated for before, but this last round of blood tests I had to notice this issue myself, and spend 3 pretty bad days trying to get some resulting action. If it were just Dr. Schraudenbach, I would still be a patient there. As it is, I cannot continue this charade. They no longer seem to care enough to speak with patients with questions or for any other reason. Heck, I couldn't even get them to answer the phone so that I could cancel any future appointments I had! It's a shame. Used to be a great place. read more

This office has always been a problem from the first day. Starting with something as simple as answering a phone. Its honestly as if the administrative staff there have never heard of or used a phone. I could get better response using the postal service. For a time, I had direct access to Dr. Wierschem's nurse. So, I could avoid the inept staff that filles this office. Now that he and his nurse have left, I am stuck back in the same nightmare that this office produces. Thus far since their departure I have been called to pay bills that were paid IN FULL for past services, Insurance information that they magically removed from my records, failing to renew prescriptions due to NO ONE answering the phone, and now today when I showed up 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment, waited for 30 minutes only to have them announce that Dr Johnston was running another 30 minutes behind. I tried 4 times to call after I got home and reschedule. 4 times I was disconnected as soon as I hit the existing patient button. Clearly these providers don't care about our time and think we are there to serve them. This office staff fails to understand that we the patients are who pays their salary, yet they move with total apathy and sit in their chair getting fatter and fatter without a single thought or consideration for how they waste our time. My advice to you reading this...LEAVE! Find another provider as fast as you can. I will NOT be returning to this office under any circumstances. read more

My appointment was cancelled without my knowing. I took the day off for my stent to be removed and instead, my appointment was removed. I was told my insurance was an HMO which is incorrect because I have a PPO. I pay extra for this insurance. I want my stent removed because I am in a lot of pain BUT Dr. Schraudebach's is incompetent. My phone number, my home address and my old insurance has been changed multiple times BUT someone is NOT doing there job and I keep having to explain the same story over and over and over again. What a waste. To be such a great doctor but to loose business because your staff is unfriendly, and under-trained. I have experienced health disparities with insurance. I cant imagine how his office handles people who do not insurance. I WILL NEVER take my business to this establishment. read more

After very poor follow-up by a large hospital-based urology department, I contacted Dr Hackney's practice for treatment of kidney stones. The administrative staff as well as nurses were all very professional and cordial in responding to my needs. I was VERY impressed with Dr Hackney's willingness to acknowledge my treatment preferences and to work within the parameters of what my own research had suggested, while still providing objective input about an expected prognosis. He seems to be the kind of doctor who works WITH you, not ON you. The outpatient surgery center where they do their procedures was just as well organized and friendly as TUS. While kidney stones are not fun, I found Texas Urology Specialists provides a very helpful and manageable process to assist their patients. read more

In my 61 years on planet earth this doctor's office has to be by FAR AND AWAY the WORST one I have ever encountered. I got referred here by my doctor(I will have a chat with him about that). I called and left my name and number for a callback which on there recording said within 24-48 hours. I waited three days and called back and left my name and number again and still no call back. I then went into the office to just make the appointment in person and was told by the VERY RUDE lady with tattoos that they don't do that there and to call the number. I told them I had and what am I supposed to do now. Another semi rude lady(at least she was willing to help) said she would text the person which she did with my phone number. I got a call within 1 minute and the lady told me she only received the one call . She said I was inline to be called. I told her that in had been nearly a week and her excuse was that she had 500 calls to be returned. I made my appointment with Dr. Jeromy T. Hackney. Two days before my appointment they called and said I needed to reschedule which I did. I then got another call saying I needed to reschedule again which I did but with the other doctor, Tamer Dafashy. I then got a call the day of my appointment and was told I needed to reschedule again because the air conditioning was not working properly. I know, I know I was a complete idiot to reschedule again but since I am a gluten for punishment I rescheduled again. I finally saw the doctor and he was fine except for one thing. When I ask him a question about my psa number and that I was worried, instead of answering it he just said let him worry about it. ??? Like a dumb moron I made a follow up appointment and guess what happened. Wait for it...YES they had to reschedule again. I finally came to my senses and called them and told them I would never step foot in there office again. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS AND DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANYONE,ANYONE OTHER THEN THIS PLACE. Please, whoever reads this don't waste your time and ask me if I would like to discuss this or that or that you are sorry for the issues. You know what you can do with those. Oh, one last thing, when I told the doctor about the scheduling issues and cancellations he said that he would look into it. Well doctor, you need to look a little further into it again. If my life depended on this place I would rather just die peacefully then go here again. In my humble opinion I would fire everyone of the front staff and start over. I called and tried to make an appointment about a month ago and the person that makes appointment had some family issues and I never got a call back so I called after about week week in a half and she was very chatty and apologetic about the wait. I made the appointment to see dr Hackney. I arrived at 140 for a 2pm appointment with my book of new patient paperwork (like 10 full sheets) sat in the waiting room for a while and was called back about 330 once in the room the nurse came right in did her thing and the doctor was right behind her probably not even a minute in between. The doctor knew his stuff and got right down to the point. I had been researching this issue for about 2 months and it told me what the options where at this point and broke it down and explained them to me. After we talked he sent me out to the nurses where there was 3 of them making appointments, getting paperwork together and explaining their side of things phone numbers to call if I had an issue and everything.
