I ordered delivery and it showed up, they placed the containers vertically instead of horizontally. I explained it to the lady on the phone, she said it was the delivery driver, I told her it came this way, she called me a bitch and hung up

This place ranks in my top ten sandwich shops of all time. My boss suggested we go here and I…read morewasn't at all hesitant, because I'm a sandwich girl through and through. But this place exceeded my expectations. I will definitely back to try every dish, but for the first go around, I had the goldilox and it will be hard not to just order that every time I return (But for my Yelp community, of course I will switch it up). Smoked salmon with a nice slab of cream cheese, complimented perfectly by cucumber and onion - you just can't go wrong. To top it off, the bagel-like bread (what they're known for) with the crispy shell and soft inside was everything I ever wanted and more. Service was quick - no complaints there. While you're waiting in line, they offer cute Bay Boy postcards (for free!) so between the souvenir and the food, there's no way you'll forget about them.

As a general rule, I stay away from crowded areas like the Plaza and Westport, but I really wanted…read moreto try this place out. As luck would have it, I had to run an errand near the area and my decision was made. First off, the entrance isn't where you'd think it would be. The order window was closed and I noticed people going up to the deck to get in, so up I headed. The place was actually spacious and comfortable, it has a Caribbean vibe to it. After much consternation, I figured I'd make it tough on them and opted for the Reuben. As some somebody who has had many Reubens at the place where they were invented, Omaha's Blackstone Hotel, I can be a tough judge. This is definitely the best place to get one in KC, so I know that I'll be back for more. I even liked the bread that they used, it set it apart from other sammiches. And the service was great, so I'll be back.

It's hard to decide which is better, the owner, Miss Chewy, or the crazy amazing food! All I know is that if you haven't tried GOCHEW, you are sorely missing out. For those that might shy away from different cuisines, this is the perfect place to dip your toes into something outside the box!

We met at Café Cà Phê's four-year anniversary…read more I came around the corner and there they were. We locked eyes. I couldn't believe they were staring right at me. For a brief moment, I thought I heard music. There was a DJ, actually. But that's not how I remember it. I remember the bus. Yellow and black, impossible not to notice. Anime artwork stretched across the side. Go Chew Burger. At the window, someone was waiting who was every bit as inviting as the aroma coming out of that heavenly little bus. I started looking over the menu, and there, winking at me, was the GOCHEW Burger. They mentioned the double patty. I hesitated. "We won't tell anybody." Two patties it was. They also talked me through the kimchi: fresh or charred. They gave me enough information to make me feel like I was making all the decisions. Double patty. Charred kimchi. Loaded fries. I was all in. While I waited, I did what anyone with an infatuation does: research. I learned about Joohae "Chewy" Yoon and what she's trying to do with GOCHEW--take Korean flavors and put them into foods people already know. Burgers. Fries. Familiar food carrying something new. Then the buzzer went off. Time for our first date. No chairs. No tables. Things were getting a little awkward, so we went back to the car. The fries had lost their crispness to the sauces and steam, but I didn't care. The Korean BBQ sauce was sweet and savory, the gochujang brought mild heat, the creamy lime sauce cut through it all, and the bright green chives pulled everything together. Incredible. But the burger? Perfectly crisped edges. Juicy, hot beef. Melted cheese. Charred kimchi bringing sweetness and acidity. Three sauces that somehow never fought for attention. And the bun had a serious responsibility. Two patties. Cheese. Kimchi. Three sauces. Everything depended on it. Spider-Man protects New York and everyone who depends on him. This bun had the same problem. With great power comes great responsibility. And it held. Mostly. The attraction was still there. The infatuation was still there. But they had become something else entirely. Love. This wasn't just a good burger. This is the best smash burger I've had in Kansas City. Chewy set out to make people fall in love with Korean food by putting those flavors into things they already know. I think she got me.
