Tacos El Cabozon used to be a taco truck and now has a small brick-and-mortar location near Fulton…read moreStreet downtown. They're open late, which is a big plus, especially since a lot of places downtown close early. The restaurant itself is very small, probably seating around 10 to 12 people at most. One issue we noticed right away was that it was extremely hot and humid inside. This was early summer and it was honestly uncomfortable to stay inside for long. People who came in after us ordered their food and immediately went outside to cool off. I definitely would not plan on dining inside unless they improve ventilation or air conditioning. As far as the food, we ordered tacos de gobernador and I ordered one of each taco/meat they offered, although they were out of the costillas de puerco, which was a little disappointing. The food itself was good and pretty typical of what you'd expect from Mexican street tacos. The meat was cooked well, flavors were good, and overall it reminded me of the kind of tacos you'd get from street vendors in Mexico or around the Central Valley. One big issue I ran into was that some of the dishes came with guacamole, but this was not listed anywhere on the menu. I'm allergic to avocado/guacamole, and since it wasn't disclosed and most street tacos don't automatically come with guacamole, I didn't think to ask. Everything was packaged to go, and by the time we got to the car and opened the food, several items were covered in guacamole and I couldn't eat them. That was really frustrating and is something they should clearly list on the menu or ask customers about when ordering. They also had a pretty limited soda selection, but that wasn't a huge deal. Overall, the food was good and the fact that they're open late is great, but between the heat inside and the guacamole issue, the experience wasn't perfect. I would go back, but I would definitely clarify no guacamole on anything when ordering next time.

I wanted to mention the salsas are fire ! Literally so spicy ! The molcajete salsa was my favorite and I need to mention the picked onions with habaneros were my favorite so make sure to grab that. Service was fine the lady taking my order only spoke Spanish so make sure you know Spanish lol I wanted to try the mushroom tacos as well but was told they didn't have it in stock so I'll have to go back soon

I took pictures of the pizza when we got home. I can't mention anything about the staff as I didn't encounter them so I don't know if they were following the COVID protocols. Anywho, I didn't get to see their full menu only what the dude sent so I opted for a personal pizza. The pizza itself taste like Me n Ed's do nothing special but $10 for a personal pizza is quite pricy in my opinion! The dough was thin and crunchy and my toppings were delicious. It was a tasty pizza but would I go out my way to come here again no as there is a Me n Ed's literally right behind where we live and more affordable. However, if I am at food truck event or an event and craving pizza...heck YES I will get my pizza on in a heart beat as the access is convenient and different from typical trucks. I honestly would come here again only for an event like Truck Throw Down or those Grizzly games or events at Woodward park but on regular days I'll stick to my my local favorites. I would honestly recommend definitely to try them! The personal pizzas are not worth the price but possible error on our end as they do have other options. I do want to engage with staff and have that experience so who know I may be back soon as I am feeling A LOT better these days. Also, love the stylish truck! Stands out from others :)

The pizza had a GREAT crunch to it which is something I love when eating pizza. The cheese was tasty but the thing that lacked on this slice was the sauce. The sauce was lost...the taste just didn't come through. To speak to the staff I thought they were friendly and responsive. The truck appeared very clean and the service was quick. I can see this pie improving overtime and I hope they continue to refine their product because it's got potential.

The whimsical design on the truck caught my eye, but the expansive menu with so many options, the efficiency of giving a light up pager when ready, & the service with a smile is what hooked me to get an order. Though so many choices, I opted for the tried and true flavor of cinnamon sugar. Let me just say, that container of goodness got devoured in a few short minutes by the fam. I hope they return to another event near us soon- can't wait!

There was a line but it was quick, we ordered the classic cinnamon sugar, you get 10 mini donuts for $5 (classic) and 10 mini for $6 (specialty). Waited no more than 10mins for these donuts and they came out hot and fresh. They were so cute and delicious! The first bite literally took me back to my childhood days, it reminded me of my grandmother's donuts. My fiancé doesn't much have much of a sweet tooth and he was insisting on getting another order! Overall, we had a great experience! The donuts were so cute and yummy, very mouth watering. Loved how soft and warm they were. The customer service was amazing. Highly recommenced and can't wait to try the other flavors!
