It's located right off the freeway (North East Side) in the League City-Webster-Clear Lake area, and gets pretty busy, but not as shockingly busy as some of the Houston locations closer to town. We've used it three times now and there will definitely be more visits. There's a hair salon in here too, although it might be gone now, I'm not sure. This optical shop has been unreasonably overcharging customers for many years. When customers requested that they file insurance claims--and even when the insurance company proactively contacted them with the same request--they flatly refused to cooperate. Furthermore, when customers asked for copies of their receipts or copies of their eye examination results, the staff repeatedly stalled and withheld the documents. When a customer discovered that they had been charged for unjustified fees on multiple occasions--and, worse yet, that the lenses provided had been manufactured with incorrect prescriptions--the shop owner became hostile, physically expelled the customer from the premises, and threatened to call the police. The owner is arrogant, rude, and refuses to issue any refunds. This establishment is a family-run business owned by a Vietnamese couple; they are malicious, greedy, and engage in deceptive practices against their customers. I urge everyone to avoid this shop--proceed with extreme caution!

I have gone to Clear Lake Eye Center for 4 years. I always saw Dr Hernandez who was excellent…read more Dr. Hernandez was caring and thorough and an overall great doctor. I went for my yearly appointment on April 30, 2024. When I checked in and had my preliminary workup done, I waited in the room for Dr. Hernandez. Instead, Dr Brending came in and proceeded with the exam. I stopped her five minutes into the exam and asked where Dr Hernandez was. Her reply was, "She's not here anymore". She would not tell me where she went, she refused to say. Dr Brending advised me to try Neurolens. She said it would take 2 weeks to get them in. After 4 weeks, I had to call and ask where they were....surprisingly they arrived that day. They did not work, I could not see anything out of the lens's. They sent them back for re-calibration (?), again promising 2 weeks. This time I waited until week 5 and I had to call them to find out they were in. Again, they did not work, the lens's were worse the second time. They wanted me to come in for an in-depth vision exam. I refused. I should mention these cost me $1000 out of pocket, (insurance will not pay). I willingly paid that because the benefit of the Neurolens seemed worth it. I asked for a refund for 6 weeks, they would not discuss it. They instead put updated lens's in my current glasses and I received a ridicules refund of $400. While yes, the money is the frustrating part, it's all about the service I received, which was 1 star at best. I've never had an eye doctor who does not call when your glasses are ready. And I can't figure out why I wasn't notified about Dr Hernandez. My advice, if you went there to see Dr. Hernandez, don't waste your time going now.
