The salad could have had more dressing, but doesn't affected the overall quality of the meal. The portion is a good size, however if you're a big eater than you still might have room left for a small snack, maybe order another side? The environment is what you would expect from a bar and bistro venue, however, it's nicer than expected. It does get busy during lunchtime, so if you don't want to line up, I suggest coming in after 1-2 PM. The service is relatively fast and the staff are friendly. You can help yourself to a glass of cold water whenever you like. I will be coming here often as there's so much more I would like to try on the menu.

It lacks atmosphere slightly as they are trying for a pub/bistro feel but kind of get stuck in the middle. Recently they have been licensed to have bar tables outside along the street which I think it just fantastic and really opens the place up a lot. They do cheap parma deals most days and the food while nothing to write home about is good, decent sized pub food. Great place to go before the footy for a feed and some pre game cheap drinks.

The pub is a cracker of a building, all green and dilapidated and grimy looking. Inside is a warren of little rooms and spots to rest your weary legs. There's an ace garden area out the back. All the furniture, and the decor in general, is falling apart at the seams and at times I wonder whether the pub may be on its last legs. I popped down for lunch the other day to find it closed in the middle of the arvo, which sent a shock wave through my body. It is the kind of place that will open, or not, depending on extraneous circumstances. The food here is standard pub fodder, the beer is cod and the staff are friendly as hell. But it's the character and one-of-a-kind-ness of this place that keeps me interested. There are fewer and fewer of these un-renovated old girls in Melbourne and very few in this part of town. It's a bit bigger than it's partner up top, a couple of high tables/chairs along the wall and seats at the bar as well; it's the perfect spot to chill with your mates or if you're riding solo. The best/coolest thing about the decor though is the wooden crates that they've converted into benches and low tables for you to sit on. It's different from the other bars and it also adds a rustic/hipster feel to the place. ...... the perfect spot to put and end to a good night!
