I may be a bit partial, but I will review this from a non-employee perspective. I love the ED (night crew) at HEB. It was weird to be a patient, but the quality of care was what I had expected. The care I needed was attended to promptly, the labs and scans were done expeditiously, and I was out within two hours. As a patient, my care was exceptional. read more

The care from the doctor is good. But, the way the office is run is terrible. My doctor recommended to get two vaccines and I agreed to get them, but they couldn't give it to me while I was there, I had to make another appointment to get the two vaccines, but because I didn't get them at my doctor's appointment I would have to pay for them since I didn't get them during my yearly wellness visit. But this was their fault because for some reason they couldn't or wouldn't give them to me while I was there on my wellness visit. read more

Went in for abscess tooth/cellulitis, they did surgery or tooth extraction and after being home for a few days I stared getting severely dizzy. Went back twice and each time they told me it was something different. I've been dealing with sever dizziness for almost a year and on top of that they didn't fix my tooth issue which I feel is draining into my chest area. I feel discriminated against because I mentioned using holistic treatments at home. I thought they cared but I feel god is not with them and they just care about money. You betcha I have been experiencing issues swallowing and this cannot be for someone like me after it's hard to eat when you can't swallow and nobody likes water coming out their nose Ewww gross! The hospital ER sent the police to our home!!!!! The worst hospital ER experience with rude and uncaring physicians who appear to operate from a place of extreme bias as their default. My family member received a Covid diagnosis and was given Tylenol and fluids and Toradol for an extreme headache which did not really work. We were told no other treatment was indicated. Could not get her discharged as everyone was busy elsewhere and our nurse who we tried to get to come into the room, appeared to be slammed with other patients.. The patient was tired of waiting and really wanted to go home, so I went to get the car and pull it around and my relative, the patient, came out and we went home. We forgot that she had her IV still in place. The hospital called us, but the phone was on silent so I did not get the message. The voice mail from the ER charge nurse said that if we didn't call them or come back that they would call the POLICE to come out to our home. We got home and found a police officer at our front door saying that the hospital charge nurse Charlise contacted the North Richland Hills Police to have them go to our home for some kind of "welfare check"? because my family member inadvertently left with an IV still in her arm? I have never heard of this level of harassment and/ or retaliation from a healthcare facility. Did the charge nurse expect the NRH police to arrest one of us because we left the ER without discharge paperwork? I can only presume that we were either profiled in some way or are living in a literal police state. I will be looking up case law on this incident and find out if this type of occurrence has ever occurred before as this seems like an extreme overreach and abuse of perceived authority. read more

This ER is the worst. I was having an extreme afib episode this morning to the point my heart rate was at 180bpm straight out of bed and was getting dizzy. I get there and they get me on the EKG fairly quick and just say "yeah, you have afib. Here's an IV now go sit in the waiting room and wait". After about 2 hours they call my name to speak with a Dr. The Dr. says they spoke with my cardiologist and he said to prescribe me a blood thinner and a beta blocker that I am already prescribed by the doctor they spoke to on the phone (my cardiologist is a whole other bad review) After I sat in a bed in the hallway watching a nurse/tech for about an hour play video games on her phone while she was supposed to be monitoring vitals on all the screens in front of her face, the Dr finally came back out and told me that they are too busy treating flu patients to do anything further because my afib episode had stopped. I'm sure I'll also get a $5k bill in the mail in a couple weeks for everything they didn't do. Hopefully I don't die before I receive it. read more

I have no faith in this hospital! On August 15, 2023, my son-in-law was brought in via ambulance because he was too sick to walk ( Chest pains, vomiting, leg cramps, back pain, and pain in his left arm) he was taken in by Jeremy Scott Brady, MD. So tell me, what is the first thing that should be done with all of these symptoms? Blood work? Yep, but not according to "Dr" Brady. He took his BP and saw that it was too high so he prescribed my son-in-law HP medications and sent him walking out of the hospital when he couldn't walk any better then than when he first arrived. Dr Brady even gave him a "return to work for Friday, August 18. On Friday, August 18 at approximately 10:00 am my son-in-law passed away in his sleep at the young age of 32. I had been living with him and my daughter, (I'm 66 and partially retired from Food and Beverage) so now she and I are struggling financially and emotionally trying to figure out why this happened. I wonder if my son-in-law being black had anything to do with it. I'm white and every time I went to the ER for headaches and anxiety the first thing that was done was bloodwork, even when I didn't have insurance. He had insurance. I wonder how many other lives were lost and turned upside down because of this man. The medical examiner is still waiting for tests to be confirmed before the death certificate can be completed. read more

Right rotator cuff repair. Pre and post op care was excellent. Staff was very thorough in explaining all pre and post op procedures. Jancy stayed on top of pre-op and made sure everything flowed smoothly. Christina was also very thorough in post-op care. Anesthesiologist came in to explain what their role would entail. My orthopedist came in pre-op to let us know what to expect. I had previously had left done about ten years ago so I was fairly versed in what to expect. 10/10 experience. read more

I was so impressed with the service we received with my daddy in the cardiac step down unit. The team of professionals where caring and kind. My father was here a few days with a very weak heart. My last nurse Ashlynn (a mother who is also working on her nurse practitioner) was beyond caring/kind and compassionate . I didn't know she would be that last caregiver my daddy would ever had but I am beyond grateful that she was. She was so professional kind compassionate and respectful of him. I am forever grateful for the help my daddy received and how hard they worked to make my daddy comfortable and do all they could to get him through a very hard situation The hospital gave him a wonderful memorial that we will be forever grateful for. I was taken by ambulance to the Texas Health Hurst-Euless-Bedford Emergency Department in April 2024. I had severe abdominal pain. I waited for 2 hours before seeing a physician. The physician, Dr. Nitin, was rude, rushed, didn't listen, and proceeded to walk out of the exam room. In 30 minutes a nurse took me to an emergency dept. patient room. She said they were so very busy that I probably wouldn't get any information from the doctor for a very long time and she left. My husband and I were left alone in the room and I was in extreme pain. The doctor breezed in 75 minutes later and said he was sending a script to their internal pharmacy. One hour later my husband went to the pharmacy obtained the medicine, came back to my room, and administered the medicine to me! He then went to the admitting desk and asked that I be released so he could take me to another hospital. A horrible experience, they had the nerve to send my insurance company a bill and we had to pay the co-pay. This emergency department should be shut down. It is disorganized and just plain dangerous. Their philosophy appears to be "patient heal thyself". read more

This review is for the Covid vaccine clinic. I was so impressed with how quickly and efficiently the whole process went. Was in and out in under 30 minutes for both shots including the 15 minute self monitored wait time. After the first dose I was immediately able to schedule my second dose through their MyChart website. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and willing so answer any questions. After hearing stories of people waiting in lines for hours to get stuck, I can't say enough about the care I received and would recommend them to anyone who has a choice of where to get the vaccine. read more

My disabled husband was released from the ER with 5 broken ribs... He was standing out front waiting for me (I was home with our newborn) and the security guard approached him. He (the fat security guard) said "You better hope a ride shows up or else"... My husband WITH 5 BROKEN RIBS, a deteriorating bone disease, AND a severe sun allergy was feeling so unsafe, that he walked across the street for me to find him by a median near the highway covered in sweat and beet red! I went to the ER on July 2nd with the worst headache I've had in my life. As a note, I drove myself to the ER. After a head scan I was found to have a golf ball size tumor in my brain. I was needing to be transferred to another hospital. I'm not sure if this was because HEB was full with COVID patients or for another reason, but I was transferred to Texas Harris Methodist in Fort Worth. My experience with staff at HEB was actually very good. My issue is with the transfer transport that was selected. I was sent via Careflite ground transport (ambulance). Perhaps it's just me but whenever I hear Careflite I think of those outrageously expensive air transports for critical patients. I did not consider myself critical, especially considering that I drove myself to the ER and was fully coherent. The transport itself was fine with no issues. A few weeks later I received the bill for this transport. To those familiar with the metroplex, Fort Worth is not very far from HEB. I believe from hospital to hospital it was roughly 13 miles. The bill I received was for $2,600 for these 13 miles. Two days after being taken to Fort Worth I was transferred from that hospital to a hospital in Dallas. This trip was about twice the distance as the prior trip and the cost was $1,500. Some might say my issue should be with Careflite but I'm upset that this particular service was selected for my transport when I was not critical. I should have been transferred via a regular ambulance service. I called the hospital to complained, sent an email, spoke to representatives 2 or 3 times and each time was given the brush-off. I had hoped they would help with a portion of the cost since it was because of them that I had to pay this outrageous bill. My thinking is that perhaps there was a quota they needed to meet with Careflite, although I was told that was not the case. If you're ever in a similar situation and need to be transferred, please be aware of the ambulance service being used because there can be a huge difference in cost and if you don't have exceptional insurance you'll be stuck with all or a good portion of the bill. read more

This is the worst hospital I have ever been in my grandmother got sick today and we have been in here telling everyone about her history and all the issues are in her stomach they then decide to tell her she is just over reacting so then we get admitted and this nurse is the worst nurse I've ever had to deal with so she has had a catheter in once and then layers after she was raw they decide to take it in and out I hate this place the only person that is amazing here is Mrs christy she deserves a raise! This was my second pregnancy and I was so nervous since my first delivery was really bad during delivery and service experience I had received at that hospital with my first pregnancy. This time everything went so well and smooth nurses super professional, gentle and nice. They took great care of myself and my new born. I cannot thank them enough. Nurse Seema was with me during the delivery of my son and she took great care of me. So professional, resourceful, and caring. I went to an urgent care today, a small one (perfectly fine, just a care), and they treated me with so much care, they were amazing. I wish i could say this about this hospital and my grandma, who could still be here today if she was actually taken seriously. My grandma called 911 four times in the span of four months, complaining of difficulty breathing, and each time they sent her home telling her 'vitals looked fine', saying she's just an anxious older women. She wasn't just anxious, she died the day after christmas, her lungs destroyed by COPD, discovered from a simple chest x-ray after she went into cardiac arrest for several minutes. After she collapsed in her apartment unable to get to the door for help, after oxygen had been away from her brain for several minutes, after she had gone to the hospital FOUR times times, that's when they decided to take a simple chest x-ray, which could've made her live just a little longer, which could've let me say goodbye. But no, your neglect led to my grandma dying, and by the looks of the other reviews, led to several other patients die. Your emergency room is a joke, it is pathetic that kids are getting taught to be professional doctors in that wing, when your doctors can't even give someone a simple chest x-ray. Do not go to this hospital, do not give them your money, they do not exist to help people, they exist to be greedy and take your money, trying to charge the family of the deceased thousands for their hospital stay(s). This hospital does not deserve to stay in business, it truly does not. And I hope the staff who neglected to take care of my grandma and who told her she was 'just anxious', get found out, I hope one day she gets the justice she deserves and you get sued out of your careers. read more

I recently had surgery at the Gyn/Surg unit. Sadly, it was a referral from Texas Oncology, on an urgent basis. Results were better than expected, yay! And we love and trust our GYN/Oncologist Dr. Reagan Street! But the real superstars were the nurses on this unit. I was very high maintenance post-surgically, as I could do nothing for myself. The nurses were UNFAILINGLY kind, professional and informative. And so patient... waiting for...walking, eating, bathroom functions to return, walking me through every motion. Special shout outs to Stephanie, Kristy and Norellis. I actually cried saying goodbye to the lovely Kristy, and missed the kindness and care of the nurses and whole unit for days. Stephanie and Kristy worked long shifts and i would literally have to buzz them a zillion times a day. Always a greeting, often an innovative care suggestion as I struggled with pain. Imagine not wanting to leave the hospital! read more

Visiting an ER during holidays especially Thanksgiving is not fun. Especially that I flew all the way from California. Unfortunately, I did. I twisted my ankle during a Turkey Trot and darn, it hurts like crazy. Organizer from the event didn't have any emergency kit. I was lucky that there were plenty of hospitable Texan people who helped me to survive. My husband and his step mom brought me here before we carve the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I was scared plus it's a hassle. Never visited an ER most of my life. Staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I was the first patient for the day and only patient so far. Oh my, I feel so special. The place is really squeaky clean. I can't count as to how many staff checked on me if everything was alright. Someone will conduct an X-ray to me twice, I think that's too much. Even doctors, quite a few went to check on me to think that I only had a twisted ankle. The facility here is really amazing. Luckily, I survived and no broken bone. I came home with a new pair of boots, swollen ankle, scratched and wounded knees. As much as I love the ambience here, I don't want to come back in an ER...unless it's really an emergency. read more

Update: I ended up getting very, very ill. My husband refused to take me back to this hospital. I was refusing to go to ANY hospital because I felt no one cared or would listen. I was crawling to the bathroom, could not eat, could not keep any water down, was vomiting constantly and having diarrhea 15 to 20 times per day. By the time he got me to Baylor Scott and White Grapevine the first time, I was septic, very ill and in intense pain due to the kidney stone Hugely refused to treat. They fixed me up, treated me, gave me a blood transfusion. Then realized I also had C-diff. I had it 3 times. I've been out of the hospital for 8 days, I almost died. They saved my life. Thank God for this hospital and their hospitalized!! THE BEST!!! read more

This is the worst hospital to admit yourself in !!!! I went to the Er For breathing issues due to congestion I have asthma . Not one doctor or nurse listened to my complaint that I had asthma and i need a breathing treatment. They gave me a Covid test which I notified the doctor I took one before coming and it came out negative I need a breathing treatment. Another doctor came in to take me to get X-rays for Pneumonia which is understandable making sure my lung are good . But then they Discharged me WITHOUT giving me a breathing treatment for my asthma the whole reasoning why I checked in . They wrote a prescription for Albuterol and sent me on my way WITHOUT a Treatment to hold me over until I was able to get my prescription. Something could have happened to me within those 3 hours I had to wait for the pharmacy to fill my prescription. THE WORST Hospital to visit . read more

My boyfriend had the stomach pains ,vomiting, and body aches. It was 10pm, and it was quick and easy. The doctor the symptoms sounded like a stomach virus,and a flu. The blood test showed that he basically had the stomach flu. So quick and easy, told him the pills he should take. In and out, and left. Everything was fast, the only wait was for the blood test results. The doctors were nice, and the nurse we had was nice. I'm not sure what her name was but she had a anchor tattoo and told us about it. She was a sweet heart, making jokes, and making sure my boyfriend was comfortable. I always go to parkland, so its scary.. And the nurses are extremely rude. Buts its dtown, and old... So its not really much high expectations. Anyways, love the staff and how fast they are. My review on this hospital is definitely mixed. I did not feel like my friend got the care or answers she needed. The hospital itself is nasty. I will say there was one individual who was a saving grace. Not only did he go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and kept a smile on our faces. He took the time to be a nurse extern and a human being. For that I am forever great full and will never forget his name or face. You all need to hire more staff/nurse externs like him. TINY hospital room. Nursing staff was hit and miss around the Clock. Some were great and some were indifferent. The bed they give me was ridiculous! I'm 6ft 2in tall and my head is on the headboard and my feet are on the footboard of the darn thing. Worse still, it's one of those inflatable beds that inflate and deflate constantly which had nothing to do with the type of care that I was receiving. I didn't mind it inflating and deflating so much as the fact I was always laying in a hole like the $5,000 a day Army cot. When it's fully deflates your ribs in your back are on the hard surface of the bed. The food was absolutely the worst hospital food I've ever had. The cafeteria call taker could not have possibly been any more rude and indifferent. read more

I gave birth at the hospital on 10/23/18 and had a pretty good experience besides being almost tortured by a mid wife (dr nehal- why they had a mid wife i don't know!). my epidural was placed crooked and wore off, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and toilet paper felt like sand paper (NOT fun when you're wiping down there right after having birth and 10 stitches). The rough toilet paper literally made me wince in pain every time i had to wipe. When we were in the ER room, the nurse suggested that i take a bath. Only one problem, the tub didn't plug, they didn't move our room or anything. The nurse was very nice and check on me pretty much every hour. The next day after i had delivered and we were still in the delivery room, the nurse literally told us that a breastfed baby doesn't need to be burped... the saving grace was the after care nurses and pediatric doctor, who is amazing and super sweet! We went to the ER last night 12/21 for a compacted 2 month old and was very disappointed. The intake nurses were very nice and got us in right away. We waited in an ER room for about 30 minutes before Dr Church came to see us. He is extremely nice and professional. We then waited over an hour for X-rays. After the x rays dr church stopped back in and said he was going to write us a prescription and give us information for a pediatric GI specialist. We then waited over an hour (now at 120 am with an exhausted 2 month old) before we asked an African American nurse in grey scrubs if we could go. She immediately snapped at us and said we needed to wait for our nurse, Kristina. We had not ONCE been visited by a nurse, due to her spending most of the time in the room directly next to us. When they paged her, she was leaning against the wall in the next room, once again, and laughing with the patient. She said the doctor hadn't submitted the discharge paperwork... but then was quickly corrected by another nurse who said he did. Both nurses in grey that night were very rude. I don't understand why there were a group of 5+ nurses huddled around one computer and we had to wait over an hour to be discharged, after we had to ask. We never received any medicine or the recommendation. We were highly disappointed with HEB with this visit. read more

I went to the emergency center for a lower extreme stomach pain. 2 house later it was determined and diagnosed as IBS. Because of all the test ordered (and most expensive although at the time i was not aware) The bill was for $8295.00 I was and am responsible after blue cross that my part of the bill is $3551.00 because of all the test..For IBS????They said it is impossible to inform the patient of cost they may incur in the emergency room..It is difficult to fathom but they said that was normal it did not seem crazy to them....beware beware beware read more

No wait at er. You get 2 stars for that. Helpful, easy in and out. A nurse who would not let my friend leave without a cast. That gets another star. An er doc who dismissed my friend's injury because nothing waa technically broken-minua 2 stars. Doc failed to note the two screws and one pin that the accident displaced and were CLEARLY floating in the injured hand. Turns out the displaced hardware was pressing on nerves! Obviously on a great deal of pain, my buddy got 2 10mg shots of morphine. If I could add a half star for that I would. They had an ortho guy there but er doc would not refer, stating it would be better after swelling went down. Sheesh! read more

I was sooo impressed with this hospitals fast & great service! I came in at 6am so I could avoid any wait time & right when I came in I was greeted, blood pressure taken then took right to my room. I wasn't in my room for 1 minute & Dr. Tran & his assistant came right in got the job done! Me & my boyfriend we're sooo surprised we had to give compliments right then & there! I've been here plenty of times in the past, even delivered my one & only child here, but nothing compares to this time! From now on if I have any problems I won't hesitate to come here like in the past & I know the perfect times to go now!!
