'm a firm believer that a quality practice not only starts with the quality of clinical care but…read morefirst and foremost with competent and quality office staff. What I'm seeing across multiple dental specialties is staff in place that are only task oriented -only there to fill a position and carry out a repetitive task- most times lacking the actual knowledge needed to effectively carryout the task at hand. Needless to say this office staff -at least in the Irving office- is less than competent at best. I won't even get into leading up to the appointment but at the first visit I was met by a young lady who appeared to have assisted with procedure in the back office and presented in the front office to check me in with a surgical mask in place--making it very difficult not only to hear her, but to even attempt to effectively engage in a conversation was difficult due to the mask. I provided my insurance information, primary dentist information, oral surgeons information, a week ahead of time by phone and in the new patient portal link , only for this information not to be reviewed prior to me visit and resulting in me-yes me, having to call the oral surgeons office at check in and have records sent as the insurance was being checked -all during check in. I won't get into that(the insurance) debacle but will caution all patients to know their insurance coverage as most DENTAL offices have attempted to adopt the "trend" of having patients pay services upfront and wait to be reimbursed once they run through insurance- which defeats the purpose of insurance all together. The most disappointing experience was the bed side manner of the Dr. The Dr. mannerisms were condescending and based on assumptions of bad dental compliance and failed to holistically consider other clinical history components..ie age, dental procedures/appliances that can contribute to the decline of oral health. Periodontal surgery can be extremely invasive, sometimes the most invasive surgery is the only appropriate plan of care, however the most invasive doesn't have to be the only plan of care if there are other possible appropriate alternatives. After I inquired about other possible alternatives, I felt dismissed and my concerns felt minimized -where the Dr. concluded my initial assessment by stating that a treatment plan would be developed and sent to insurance -and we go from there... that's it that's all- As I'm leaving normally there's someone at the desk to confirm the conclusion of the appointment so I was unsure whether I needed to stop by the front desk- where there was no one- and my only confirmation was the Dr. passing through the back hall way -where I confirmed that there was nothing additionally needed. I say all of this to say- first to Dental offices- Cheap , trainable office staff-unless properly and competently trained, is not always the best staff and could cost more in the long run. Secondly, to Dr.- respect all patients who voice concerns about their plan of care as its their right check and double check whether the plan of care is best possible plan for their unique situation

I am very disappointed with my experience at this office. We received inconsistent information from…read moredifferent providers about my husband's treatment. Initially, we were told that both impacted wisdom teeth needed to be removed with bone grafts. Later, another provider said only one tooth would need a bone graft. When we finally met with the oral surgeon, she advised us not to remove the right impacted tooth because it was lying sideways, very close to the nerve, and could cause permanent numbness. We ended up removing only the left tooth. The billing was just as confusing. We were charged for one hour of IV anesthesia (four 15-minute units), but the timeline simply doesn't add up. I left the treatment room at 1:03 PM, and my husband didn't even have an IV yet. At 1:33 PM, a staff member told me the procedure was finished and asked me to bring the car around. My husband walked out at 1:45 PM. When I questioned the one-hour anesthesia charge, I was told it included recovery time. That explanation did not make sense to me, especially when the actual sedation time appeared to be much shorter. Patients deserve clear communication, consistent treatment recommendations, and accurate billing. I have requested a detailed explanation of the charges and hope the office will review and correct them. Until then, I cannot recommend this practice.

Unfortunately, I will no longer be returning due to repeated issues with the front office recently, specifically with Juanita. During my last visit, I paid out of pocket because the front desk staff couldn't verify my insurance. Later, my insurance did cover the visit, and I had to obtain reimbursement on my own. When my daughter needed treatment, Juanita scheduled it a month out, saying it was because of my "insurance" despite the pain my daughter was in. Over time, my interactions with Juanita have consistently been unpleasant. She is often rude, dismissive, and lacks empathy. At our last visit, she greeted us with a smirk, did not acknowledge us properly, and seemed to recognize us only because of the prior insurance issue. She even made comments about how difficult my insurance was to work with and implied it was somehow my fault. The last conversation I had with her was particularly unprofessional -- she was confrontational, and I had to ask her multiple times to watch her tone. After years of trusting this clinic, it's very disappointing that the actions of one front office staff member have driven us to find care elsewhere. I truly hope management- Paula addresses this behavior so that other families don't experience the same disrespect.

Every 6 months, Monarch wanted me do a deep cleaning making my out of pocket be $300 (after insurance) I am relatively new at my job and most of my coworkers go to Dr. Wadhwa. I heard great things about her. I scheduled an appointment to get my teeth cleaned and it had been about a year since the last one, so I expected them to suggest a deep cleaning and offer other things while I was there. When I arrived I was greeted by Maria, the receptionist/office manager. She was super friendly and helpful. Then I got my x-rays taken and my cleaning done. I never felt pushed to do anything besides what I needed and they told me a regular cleaning would be ok because I was in good shape. Doctor Wadhwa was very sweet and professional and she pointed out a couple of things that I may need done, but also said that we had time and I didn't need to get them done right away. I feel very lucky to have a dentist that I like, nobody enjoys going to the dentist, but I can definitely trust that they see me as a patient that they are taking care of, and not as a customer used to reach a sales goal. When I left I had $0 out of pocket cost, and they gave me a bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, some snacks, a mug with a spoon and even flowers! Ha! Well played Dr. Wadhwa!

After reading positive reviews about this dentist, I figured I'd give her a try especially since the practice is near my office around Midway & Spring Valley Rd. When I went in for my first appointment, Maria, the person at the front desk, greeted me. After about 3 minutes of waiting, I was asked to come "inside" from the lobby (exactly on-time). My teeth were X-rayed by a friendly dental hygienist and subsequently Dr. Wadhwa reviewed them with me. I had a couple of fillings that needed to be re-worked and was in need of removing all 4 of my wisdom teeth. After reviewing everything, my teeth were thoroughly cleaned by a hygienist that loved her job. She did not rush and took her time to make sure my teeth with nice and clean. It was a good feeling that she enjoyed what she did. I wish I caught her name so I could mention it in this review. After my initial appointment, I went ahead and scheduled my fillings and wisdom teeth removal. My fillings were done by Dr. Wadhwa. There was local anesthetic administered to my gums to minimize discomfort. It went smooth and the entire appointment took less than an hour and my numbing subsided within 2-3 hours. My wisdom teeth were extracted by Dr. Wadhwa's husband and business partner, Dr. Gandhi. He is well-qualified and specialized in periodontics and implants. He's at this location every other Wednesday (or maybe it's every Wednesday) for surgeries and other special procedures. Every other day, he is at his own practice at the Firewheel center in Garland. Before going through with the surgery, I researched Dr. Gandhi -- he graduated magna cum laude from his undergrad studies and cum laude from his dental school. He's also maintained a 5.0 rating on Google -- this, coupled with his education showed a great track record. I had held off getting my wisdom teeth removed for several years (I am 32), however, I decided it was time and Dr. Gandhi was more than qualified to do the job. My wisdom teeth extraction appointment took about 2 hours. I was given laughing gas and Dr. Gandhi was very informative. The surgery itself was seemed very quick (less than 20 minutes) and went very smoothly. I had minor discomfort thereafter and the recovery was quick. What made me feel very comfortable was the fact that I had a direct number to reach Dr. Gandhi by phone/text. I felt like it was easy to ask him questions about what to eat, etc via text -- he was super polite and answered my inquiries quickly. Bottom line: I recommend visiting this practice (and Dr. Gandhi's practice) for your dental needs. I was always seen on-time (4 appointments so far) and everything has been efficient to-date. The staff is very friendly and the doctors are knowledgeable, qualified, and most importantly, love what they do.
