A little hard to find in Willow Bend Mall but they are in a kiosk. They are very friendly and transparent. Changed USD to MX Pesos. They count everything in front of you. read more

Quick. Efficient. Friendly without being overly talkative. They are a kiosk right in the middle of this mostly deserted mall. If you need foreign currency and are in the area then give them a shot. read more

Since we started travling overseas this is the best currency exchange place we have found. Courteous and quick ( expecially on weekdays). I wish they were closer to my home in Oak Cliff slightly south of downtown Dallas. read more

I tried to exchange $150 USD and was initially told that it equaled only ₡11,000 CRC. I wasn't sure why, but that's the rate they gave me. Thankfully, I went back and spoke with another employee and was able to get the correct exchange rate. I'm glad I trusted my instincts and double-checked instead of accepting the first, incorrect answer. read more

Pro Tip: Ask them if they have a coupon that will give you a 50% discount on the exchange fee. Pro Tip 2: Come on the weekdays. I did my exchange in less than 5 minutes. There's a reason why this place has such good ratings. I came here to exchange USD to Japanese Yen. We got a 1% exchange which was excellent when you compared it to the airports at 10%. Obviously you can only pay with cash or debit card. If you're paying for cash bring a little bit of extra just to cover the exchange rate fee. read more

I had currency in coin form they were only going to pay about .05 per dollar. I found a better place that gave me over half face value. I recommend leftover currency for all your foreign currency exchanges. read more

One of the few places in North Texas that will exchange foreign currency, especially metal (coins). None of the traditional foreign exchange services, and no bank that I've found, will exchange foreign coins for USD. However, Texas Currency only pays $3 per pound for foreign coins, so I'm not sure that's a really good deal. And for where I am located in Grapevine/Southlake area, their location in Willow Bend Mall (Plano) simply doesn't make it worth the drive. read more

It's a convenient location near the tollway. The transactions are usually pretty straightforward and easy. However, don't expect to get the same conversion rate that you see online when you compare currencies. In addition, they only carry a limited number of currencies. I think you can order others on request. They won't deal in currencies that have high inflation rates, which is understandable. I have found that the best strategy is to use your ATM card in the country after you arrive to get local currency. You just need to be cautious about choosing ATM machine that's in a safe neighborhood and be mindful about who's around you. Another strategy is, if you have euros left over and you are likely to travel again to Europe don't exchange your euros after your return home. Keep them for your next trip; that will save you money in exchange fees. read more

This is a great service and we were very satisfied; however, we did have to wait in line for a good 15 minutes before we were helped. They could use a few additional cashiers as they were only two working. read more

I called them before going there(whether they do currency exchange from INR(Asian India Rupee Currency) to USD and what all documents I need to bring with me). Good that they do INR to USD conversion as other banks - Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, Regional Banks and even ICICI Bank won't do that. But I was not aware that this place is taking advantage of this very fact that they do this exchange. 100K INR equals to around $1160 but these folks were only willing to pay $760 plus there was a $10 fees on top of it. So for every 100K INR transaction one will loose $500 - wow. I have never heard this kind of currency exchange in my life. At the most, exchanges make 2 or 3 per 100 INR but not this much. Avoid this place for INR to USD. read more

The best place to buy foreign currency! This location is located just outside the entrance to Macy's inside the Willow Bend Mall, Plano. They made purchasing so easy. No gouging fees that you will find at airports. They have the buy/ask price listed of the currencies that they have. You pay that price plus a $5.00 Exchange fee and that's it! It's that simple. Staff was friendly (David) and very efficient. I went when they opened mid-week. I strongly recommend to avoid busy days and times (1st of the month, 15th of the month, days near major holidays and weekends). read more

I was exchanging Euros into dollars. I had about 8 euros in coins and she said they did it by weight and not value but it should only affect the price "by a few cents". She then proceeded to offer me $0.37 for 8 euros which is nuts. After I completed the exchange she also handed me a flyer that was sitting on the counter and would have cut my exchange fee in half. I asked why she didn't mention that earlier and she laughed and said "next time!". I will never go back there read more

When my big bank in Dallas didn't have Danish kroner, I looked found it here! There was no minimum amount that needed to be converted (like the $100 minimum at my MC company), and the exchange fee was only three dollars. I was able to complete my transaction in five minutes! read more

Vietnamese Dong is a RIP off here. Do Not exchange your dollars here. The current official exchange rate $80 = VND 1,969,200. Texas Currency exchange will give you for $80 = VND 989,447. Which is less than half the exchange rate (given by the global money market). I understand there is a gap between buy and sell rates but this is daylight robbery. My recommendation: Do your homework before going here. They rely on most folks not to do their homework. Just google it before you go here. read more

The waiting time was extremely long and the people who work here are rude and dismissive. We brought Mexican currency to be exchanged into USD, waited in line for over half an hour, and then they promptly dismissed exchanging it after only weighing it. How does that make any sense? I can understand a line of customers can be a lot to handle, but I'm don't see why an unprompted attitude is ever necessary. read more

We always travel with the local local currency to avoid issues with exchanges. We ordered early and Texas currency exchange was able to get us our East Caribbean dollars for our trip. The gentleman that spoke with us on the phone as well as the friendly woman that called us to remind us that things were in kept us on top of the pick up that we needed to do. The roads cleared after the ice storm and we picked up the currency at the kiosk in the mall and all is good. read more

Fantastic customer service, great rates, friendly, and easy exchange.... This is everything you want in a business setting.... I called them to see what the going rates of the day were & Christopher explained their process and quoted me a very fair price upfront. Easy to find within the mall, quick transaction and they included helpful tips on conversion info. Christopher's customer service was excellent! He went above and beyond my expectations... So frustrated with my bank!!! I will never pay for high fees again... I highly recommend this location to anyone coming from or leaving to another country. They had the best exchange rate in town. Best place to go to buy currency or sell currency. Was able to order a week ahead of trip if they did not the country I needed. This location is one of the good ones! read more

Prompt and great service. You should call ahead to see if they have your amount readily available. I didn't call and found out the hard way. I wanted to exchange 1k into pesos, fortunately they had it. However, the had mostly large bills and even though I begged for smaller bills, I got 4K pesos in small bills only... I used yelp and ended up paying $2.50 for the exchange. They make their money by selling you a different exchange rate (lower). So that day exchange rate in pesos was close to 20 pesos per dollar. They sold to me for a little above 18 pesos. For 1k USD I ended up getting 18.5k and some change in pesos. So this is where they make their money. But this is how all exchange places make their money...the difference is finding out which gives you best rate. You can always call other exchange places before coming and seeing what rates are that day...they will match you if you found a better rate. I didn't do my homework up front, so I hope I can help you instead! The good news is that you can also come back (with a receipt) and return Any left over money you didn't use from the vacation at same exchange rates you bought for...so that is a nice perk! Just keep your receipt!!! Customer service was great. They give you a small conversion list to take with you and explain the process very well. Here's to you and your vacay to come!!! read more

I've traded currency here several times, and always received quick service (and of course the money I was trading for). The rates have always been significantly better than the bank I've been with for ages. I've always traded cash, but I've seen other customers using bankcards for their exchanges. read more

Needed Colombian pesos and was able to pick up right away. I called the money was held. Great customer service, would recommend.

Just a heads up, they are between Great American cookies and Z Gallerie area in the mall. Thank you so much for the great service here from Steven, Taylor and Ray. First time here and first time heading to Cancun, and they were able to help me from the beginning to the end. Ray - there was a customer in front of me and Ray was so kind to knowledge me that they will be right with me. Taylor - She was able to explain and go through the process of how this works. And she was able to count out the money put to me to make sure the Pesos was all there. Steven - He was able to recommend me the amount of pesos I should take with me for Cancun since he has gone to the area that I am going too. Very happy with the service from them and I'll be back for sure. read more

Excellent exchange rate. Friendly staff. Prompt service east to find inside Willow Bend Mall. Defiantly going back for future travels

The Frisco location was closed due to staffing issues. They gave a forwarding number to call. That number sent me to the Plano location in Willow Bend Mall. I was told they were open until 7 PM. I showed up at 5:40 PM. One person at the counter in front of me. I patiently wait in line. Two guys behind the counter, one obviously taking care of the guy in front of me. The other guy doing nothing. A couple minutes of wait, only to have the one guy actually doing anything, lean around the customer he was helping, just to inform me that after helping him they were going to lunch, so I was shit out of luck. Customer service? Rather than take care of one more customer ( nobody else in line), they sent me packing. Two locations, no service at either. Typical of today's apathetic organizations. No clue what customer service is. read more

In anticipation of some international Asian-based travel, found this business on the internet and the reviews were really good. So, I drove the 15 minutes to Plano, parked easily in the lot behind Macy's at the Mall, and easily found their service area in the corridor next to Z Gallerie. Was helped promptly by a young man who was polite, professional, and who had a good sense of humor. He converted my US currency to Hong King dollars, Thai Baht, Vietnamese Dong, and Singapore dollars. The price for the conversion was a $5 convenience fee. Because My travels include Vietnam and its currency is highly speculative, I had to show proof of travel. Apparently the exchange rate is slightly different if one is buying the currency for its speculative value. I also had to sign a government document and allow my TX driver's license to be photocopied. The travails resulting from currency fraud...who knew? As we concluded business, the service representative separated and packaged the currencies in handy envelopes while also providing small info sheets explaining each of the conversions. An excellent experience made all the more humorous because $200 US exchanges for $3.6million Vietnamese Dong. Even I didn't know I rolled like that!! read more

Pretty long line, only had one teller. Once it was my turn, he had me wait for 15 minutes because "the system was down" while he went somewhere. Not sure how the system was up for the 4 people ahead of me, but stopped working when I came to the counter. When he came back, he stated they didn't have some of the currencies I needed. He did offer a coupon for the inconvenience *** on my next visit *** Overall it was alright. Got what I needed and left, will definitely come again when I need exchange services. read more

Pretty competitive rates and knowledgeable representatives. It was a little hard to find but if you can find z gallery it's right across from it. I went to exchange money for a business trip and brought the kids along. While waiting in line I thought it would be cool if I got them different currencies from nations around the world. The lady helping out mentioned that we would typically need to call this in but was quick to help seeing that it wasn't that busy. She made great recommendations and the kids left super happy that day as they were looking at all the different bills they were able to get. read more

Quick and easy currency exchange. I was surprised how low the fee was since I was expecting to pay way more in fees. Service was quick and polite. They will take your US dollars in debit card form and give you the foreign currency you need. This makes it super convenient if you don't want to carry around a large amount of cash. Of course if you have cash they will take that too! The "store" is inside the Shops at Willow Bend but it's located right in the center of the mall and it looks like an information desk and not an actual store. I had a hard time locating it since it's not listed in the directory, but it's in front of the Lady Foot Locker. read more

The rates I got here compared to the airport for Euros was about 15 cents less. The fee was only $3. They have coupons for you to use in the future for you and families/friends.
