And when I did try to go there the parking lot was so full. I couldn't find a place to park. But it worked out in my favor that today was the day for me to try tacos El Gordo. Now I had heard about this place and how they are jam-packed 24/7, and I can see why you walk in and the place is hustling and bustling like a big cafeteria. Cafeteria you stand in line walk up to the counter where the guys are slinging tortillas and chopping up meat like there's no end in sight. You place your order they give you your food. You go to the cashier and sit down to enjoy. People behind the counter were very perfunctory, like they knew they had a million tacos to serve that day. I get it, but a little friendliness would go a long way. The ladies at the cashier place were very nice, paid for my tacos and sat down to enjoy. I'm not going to lie, these are some damn good tacos. Now. I have had numerous tacos here in Las Vegas, but tacos El Gordo? This is exactly what I would imagine. Getting tacos in Mexico would be like. Super tasty, the meat is very flavorful and they put on just the right amount of onions, cilantro and a little bit of guacamole to top it off. Bottom line? I am so glad I got to go and this will not be my last time. The only thing is I would probably direct deposit my checks here and just take the money out in tacos. Run, don't walk to get your taco fix on here!

Try the Mexican corn appetizer with it's crumbly cotija cheese, chili, lime, and mayo on top of charred corn kernels. It's in 'esquites' form, which means it's not left on the cob like 'elote' is. Their specialty, nachos, are also well seasoned and the chips are freshly made on site. What drew me in to this restaurant was a past appearance on the Maury Povich Show, where I took a paternity test for someone who claimed she was my daughter. The end result? I was cleared, so Maury pointed at me while telling her that he's "Not yo' daddy." And so I visit Nacho Daddy on occasion, strictly for celebratory reasons. Birria nachos are excellent, made with a high quality shredded beef with pickled onion, cilantro, sour cream, cheese, and lime on top of a stack of chips. Having birria without consommé was new, but this one didn't really need it with all the flavors jumping out. Another recommendation is the cheeseburger nacho, an Americanized version with ground beef, bacon, cheddar, jack, queso, onions, tomato, and lettuce. The 'mini nachos' are perfectly sized for a light meal but if you're hungry, get the full size order which is huge and shareable. This location has been in business for 17 years now and there's plenty of seating in a nice, clean atmosphere.

Our server was also fantastic, attentive and friendly throughout the night. The food was next-level. They must have a new chef because this is hands-down the best Mexican food we've had in Las Vegas. My carne asada chef's special tacos were incredibly juicy and packed with flavor (unlike the dry ones you often get elsewhere). The queso fundido and fresh guacamole were excellent, my wife's shrimp entrée was outstanding, and the flan was truly unique, my daughter said it was the best she's ever had. Title: The Best Birria I've Had... Period!…read more (5/5 stars) If you're a birria lover, stop what you're doing and head to Birria Bite. This place may be a small tavern-style spot with just enough seating, but don't let the size fool you. The moment you walk in, the aroma of the birria comes rolling out of the kitchen like a raging bull--it lets you know you're in the right place! They offer both goat and beef birria, and the flavor is absolutely incredible. I've only been eating birria for about five years, but in that time I've made it a mission to try it everywhere I travel. I've had birria from Las Vegas, California, Nebraska, Florida, and Texas, and I can honestly say Birria Bite is hands down the best I've had. I always order the Quesabirria Combo, and it never disappoints. The consommé is rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned--good enough to sip on by itself. And even though it's outside my normal diet, I can't leave without getting the Piña pineapple drink. It's sweet, refreshing, and absolutely fire. The hospitality is always A1, the staff makes you feel welcome every visit, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you receive. This is one of those hidden gems you'll keep coming back to. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. Don't meet me there... beat me there... or be square!

They also provided a huge cup of consommé, and I used the leftovers to make delicious birria breakfast burritos the next morning. I will say the restaurant has a unique layout with around fourteen tables, so it can feel a bit tight at times, but I usually order takeout anyway. This place is a must-try for anyone who enjoys birria.
