Mike Fitzsimons is extremely knowledgeable in construction contract disputes and gave me a realistic synopsis about how things would shake out. If you are a contractor and are being asked to do unreasonable things you might want to talk to him.

My son was appointed Michael B. FitzSimons. He had a landlady in White Salmon move into the rental…read moreand begin harassing him, and rather than avail herself of the existing landlord-tenant laws, she initiated a bogus 'harassment' order against him. Michael did not view the application of her complaint or attempt to get it dismissed. He started from a presumption of guilt after an arrest for supposedly violating this order. There is an entirely far-too-cozy relationship between the DA, the courts, and public defenders creating a revenue-generating scheme and instead of providing justice to a hard-working man who just needed a quiet place to live with his cat, and who was totally happy for over a year til the old bat moved in and began her campaign of hassling him - they ended up dragging the matter out interminably with multiple court appearances, thousands in lost wages and culminating in a fine of roughly $500 in order to avoid jail. We have indicated we would like to sue him for malpractice. The infraction? My son had just scribbled 'karma will get you, Satan' on a scrap of cardboard. it was not given to the landlady or in any way sent to her, but he got arrested, dragged out of the shower after working his ass off in the cold, and hauled to jail in Klickitat, getting released the next day. If she wanted him to move, she would have had to find grounds to evict and there were none, and she'd have to pay money to proceed with her legal options, so she invented this smear to get him thrown out on a January 2020 night. He was friends with the police chief, having done work in town over the years and they knew she was lying but once she scammed the courts into generating the anti-harassment order, they had to arrest him. My son loves the Gorge and busts his ass building your luxury homes and your giant brewpubs and he can't afford your sky-high rents there, so losing a bedroom is a major crisis.

I had been procrastinating getting a trust drafted for over a year. Im a single professional mom…read morewith a young child and I knew it was important... but was turned off by friends' horror stories of lawyers wanting to charge ~$6k for a simple trust, will, advance directive. I considered LegalZoom. Or even those old-school paper packets you can buy at Office Max (does any of that exist anymore?) But I know enough to know that having a real live licensed lawyer gives peace of mind, and if they botch anything, you have recourse. I looked on Yelp for estate lawyers. Greg Levinson had great reviews. So I contacted him thru his website, he contacted me back quickly, and it soon became clear I was working with an ethical, experienced and practical lawyer to get these vital documents done. We met on Zoom and he answered all my questions, including awkward ones like Should I include a clause in my will/trust that I don't want my child raised in the religion my sibling practices? Should I give my trustees a copy of the actual documents so they'd see the contents, or just tell them where to find my papers if I die? I felt Greg and I trusted and respected each other. Greg was very proactive and communicative even when I was kind of putting the project on my back burner. The end result of hiring Greg: I now feel secure with my documents. That my kid and other survivors will be protected if I die, and they'll know my wishes, and their administrative burden will be less than it would have if I'd continued procrastinating on my Estate docs. Highly recommend Greg. Just do it!
