I had my first appointment there today for a check-up and cleaning. The dental hygienists were kind, caring, and competent, and Dr. LeBlanc was great as well. Everything is very clean and organized in there and the office does not have the dark, sterile feel of many other dentists. There are lots of windows and natural light giving the whole space a warm and welcoming feel. I can imagine that this would be a great place to bring kids for a check-up - nothing scary at all about this place! There even appeared to be a well-stocked treasure chest for good patients :). I also liked how prior to my appointment I received a reminder postcard and call. They are very on top of everything at Family Dental center. As such, I would highly recommend it to anyone on the market for a new dentist!

Let me just say I had a terrible experience at a "dentist" from across the street and I hated going to get checkups even afterwards. My dad's dentist was retiring and referred him to Dr. Lang, so my family decided to give him a shot. Well I am SO glad we did! I no longer fear going to the dentist anymore when I see him and Debbie and everyone at the office! Took me a few visits but now I can say I do not have anxiety about getting looked at. They did x-rays and said they didn't see anything, and then proceeded to put me through a cleaning. I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia , which is one of the most painful conditions there is. They knew this was a possibility and added greatly to my pain with the cleaning and I ended up in the emergency room the following day.

They blamed us for not making sure of timing- never had that experience in 3O years of appointments at previous dentist. (had to change provider due to insurance) Fast forward to next cleaning-- new policy they want prepayment for service and then I am reimbursed after they submit to insurance. I am still waiting on payment- Cleaning was November, it is end of April and my insurance company still does not have a claim from them.

They pushed…read morean early morning appointment that the scheduling put in despite my concern I could get there (I work three jobs, it's tricky). I ran a few minutes late and called ahead. The entire mood of the office was so tense it was unreal. The poor staff! I almost left right then. The dentist came in, he was furious and oddly aggressive. He was very loud about embarrassing dental issues that I had, and at the end of his long speech about basically what a pain I was and how self-inflicted my issues were (poverty? motherhood? illness?), he told me "Hey if you you can always find another dentist!" I was shocked at this, because it was so out of the blue, and I had only just started consulting and was looking for a short term fix and long term plan, now that I could start paying for this care. First visit, I thought that perhaps he was a little gruff, but maybe pretty qualified. I struggled to get the next appointments. When I finally got this one, and he said that, I told him I liked his people and I was surprised at his saying that. He pretty much stormed out. What? It was so horrible I paid my bill and went to my car and cried. I never cry about anything, but it was just that awful. I literally felt unsafe with this guy. I went to another dentist who took me immediately; as in THAT DAY. This dentist had a lot of B&R's former employees on staff. They bent over backwards to let me know I wasn't alone in my experience, and they set me up with a wonderful care plan. They fixed my immediate issue and we worked out an equitable treatment plan in a full meeting with the office person who was beyond kind. Totally opposite my Boss & Rorvik experience. Weeks later I got basically an eff off letter from B&R essentially firing me as a patient... although I'd already done that for them and I'd never had any further contact since that day. I don't know what is wrong with that office, and at this point, I don't really care. It prompted me to find someone better who makes me feel welcomed and more confident about my care. But the instability of the big guy alone in this place is a big no for me. The clear stress of his staff is a big no for me. I hope your experience is better. Nobody should feel like that leaving any kind of health care facility, even if it is just a dentist.
