I believe this is due to all of the techniques she provided me with that I still use to this day. I didn't only go in and vent to her, but she gave me something each session to use until I met with her again. That is really vital in making progress with things. It makes it feel like your therapy is really lasting until the next session.... that it does not end when you walk out of the door. She exudes warmth and kindness, and I became comfortable with her almost instantly. For me, she had that vibe of a friend you have known your whole life. She has so much wisdom to offer. Another thing I loved, was that she did not simply just sit there and listen, then give me all of the answers to my problems in a straight forward way... what she did was make me find the answers myself, which is really powerful! It really helps you see that the solution to a lot of issues are really within you, if you know where to look. She gave me a confidence I thought I had long lost. I cannot thank Julie enough for what she has done for me. I had been to a therapist or two long ago, and I honestly can't remember a thing about them or what, if anything, they taught me. I know that I will forever remember and be grateful for Julie! If I lose my way again, I will definitely be seeing her :)

What was the problem you were having before you reached out to me?…read moreBefore meeting Leslie, I had never done therapy before. It has always been something I wanted to do and something I was interested in but never found the time or courage to follow through with. Growing up, therapy wasn't always something that was positively stigmatized, so it was easy to find excuses to not go. There were things I needed help working through, however, and I knew I wouldn't be able to continue to take it on myself. I found me asking myself the same questions in different ways and always coming to the same conclusions. I'm not saying that I was tormented by these questions/answers but I knew that I needed a fresh, new and professional angle. I wasn't going to be able to dig as deep without having the proper tools to dig. Leslie came in as a kind and understanding voice--asking me questions I have never been asked and exploring my feelings in a way I've never thought to explore them. I'm an introspective person by nature but I would never stop to think of how certain situations made me feel and how it looked to explore those feelings. Each session was quite an interesting and eye-opening exercise. Leslie was always respectful enough to give me time to think about my responses and never seemed to pry or dig too deeply if I wasn't comfortable but she masterfully worded questions in a way that disarmed me and allowed me to share openly and freely. She created a very comfortable environment for being open. I knew that therapy was working for me when I started to openly share my feelings in normal conversation with friends and family. I found myself thinking more deeply about how I was affected by something or taking a particular situation and viewing all of the angles and how I felt about potential outcomes. When speaking with friends, I found myself being more understanding and sensitive--asking them questions about how they felt. It was all kind of "weird" but I knew it was very helpful. Unfortunately, I do not see Leslie anymore but ever since our final session, I feel mentally reborn. The lens I now look through my own feelings with is less judgmental and more understanding. It's okay to feel. It's ok to emote. The mental clarity I have now is far better than it was before she and I sat down for the first time. I am grateful for her service and would highly recommend Leslie to anyone seeking understanding, mental health and a kind ear.

I would imagine that hypnotherapy, as does any type of therapy, depends a lot on finding the right person to connect with and guide you. Barbara is definitely worth trying, I can't imagine that anyone could not connect with her. She offers a safe, serene and tranquil environment; with a warm and positive energy to accompany the abundance of knowledge she delightfully shares. She is very reasonably priced and I believe offers a student discount. Being that I am new to hypnosis I was not sure what to expect and she explained everything thoroughly and made me feel confident. It worked for me the first time. The hypnosis sessions I have been doing are not to "fix one thing" but more to answer questions, learn about myself and let go of the negative. In addition to productive hypnosis, she has been a spiritual guide in my life. I do not feel like a client, she offers personal information about herself and past experiences which makes me feel comfortable to share with her and feel confident that she is passionate about her work and not just in it for the money. If I am not able to come on a regular basis, she does not hold it against me and will check on me out of nowhere and often at times I am stressed or in need of warm words of motivation. She makes herself available for quick chats after "regular" hours, although I do not abuse this. She has thoughtfully given me meditation cd's because I had expressed my desire to begin meditating and offers real solutions from resources in her own life, to obstacles in my life. If you are considering hypnosis or seeking spiritual guidance, Barbara is a gifted woman to consider!
