This is the worst Sainsbury store I've ever used…read more The product range is about average for a Sainsbury's supermarket and includes clothes, music, DVDs, and the store also has a cafe. If you use the store at 8:15 as I have done before then you should not expect to find freshly baked goods, fish on the fish counter, or staff at either the deli or butchers counter. Checkout wait times here are unacceptably long. Expect to wait more than five minutes between 12:00 and 14:00 when the students from the local college cause mayhem. The store was recently redesigned to include more self scan tills, making ten in total. That said if you're not in the store at peak times expect to find only four of them open. Also they're often not staffed so the moment you buy anything needing staff authorisation you'll have a long wait. It's the staff that really spoil this store, and I'm unsure why Sainsbury's don't sack some to motivate the rest of them. They are the most surly, unecessarily defensive, and rude supermarket staff I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

We got good coffees in Pret A Manger and in M&S food hall we got a meal deal for £5.5 -a prawn cocktail sandwich, a 40 gram pack of cheese & onion crisps and a 500ml Coke Zero. We found a table to eat and we shared the food and got chocolate treats too. If you, like me, eat junk food more than you should at least make it quality junk as that's not a contradiction. The staff were very helpful as we had to use those infernal self serve machines that one day will replace many thousands of check out staff country wide.
