Never improves, despite raising it with management on numerous occasions. So you then have to go to one of the other supermarkets in the area to finish your shopping and you vow to yourself you'll never go back to Waitrose again. There is loads of seating space both upstairs and down. The waitress rushed over to help me through the door with the pushchair when we arrived, and was super helpful throughout the time we were there, grabbing me a high chair and getting us easily accessible seats. We had the choice of both breakfast and lunch menu, which were fairly extensive, plus the daily specials. I went for a cheese and mushroom omelette plus a side of garlic ciabatta with mozzarella to share with my little man. In fact, one dish would have been fine as the portions were ginormous. Both dishes were really tasty. My friend went for a cheese and pickle sandwich, the bread looked really fresh and tasty. They were really busy on this lunchtime service but still managed to get our meals out in reasonable time. As well as being a cafe, they also sell fresh local produce such and fruit and veg, local honey and jams, and fresh bread (picture Bill's in the old days before it became too commercial!) I don't stop off in Uckfield that often, but when I do I will definitely be popping in here.
