The range of products is not as good as that in the Westgate and the prices are higher - a tub of houmous might be 5p more expensive here. It's not the place to do your weekly shop, but is convenient for little things that you might have forgotten to buy. Queues are long but fast moving at peak times. One thing that does put me off is that most of the fresh fruit and veg is pre-packaged, which means that a) you can't pick out exactly what you want, and b) you can't have smaller amounts than are in the bags.

There are no surprises, and it's not really the height of luxury, but there's a good selection of fruit juices and a section of bakery goods and lunch time snacks/meals. Because it's only Sainsbury's Local, as opposed to the main shop, you don't really get the good Sainsbury's Basics deals or the more unusual foods, but there's usually a suitable alternative available. The queue often snakes around the shop and is very offputting, but it moves surprisingly quickly; they've got a very efficient system going, so don't be put off because of that. The most frustrating thing is trying to fit everything into a bag on the tiny counter, as the shop assistants work very quickly! Some are friendly, some aren't so, but you'll get your food for a reasonable price, so it doesn't really matter.

Open 24 hours a day Mon - Sat and open on Sunday. If you love Tescos this is well laid out, bright and carries all stock ranges. There is now an ordering point for Tesco Direct and a new cafe run by Costa Coffee. Parking is a bit of a mare as it is always busy. Allow a bit of a walk. On site petrol station.

They seem to have a lot more variety and seems to be better stocked much more like a larger supermarket. It doesn't carry the clothing range, but otherwise it is very good. They stock some of the less popular magazines etc and their baking section is excellent. The check out process also seems to be a lot more efficient now too. It is very handy to be able to pop in if you are in town.

For groceries, though, it's got a lot to offer. Fruit and veg are of good quality and usually well-stocked. They have two 'car trolleys' which amuse small (and big) kids greatly, and make the shopping trip easier with children who are too big for the trolley seats but too small to walk all the way around without whining. But no mention of "World Cuisine" or "international foods" on the signage. Are we just supposed to intuitively know that the powers-that-be at Tesco, when they say "pasta," they mean all these other things as well? I had to go up and down the aisles, searching for rice noodles or something similar, no employee in sight, finally had to ask a very kind gentleman who was wearing a Tesco jacket but was a driver off-duty doing his own shopping! Get the signage right, hire enough employees to provide a modicum of customer service. 4. overall impression is of a messy, dirty store 5. The ink cartridges deposited for recycling and Clubcard points are either being stolen by employees or handled so incompetently that it amounts to negligence. Why have a program if you cannot run it properly? I deposited 6 over the past three months and was credited for one. This is too much of a repeat experience to be a mere mistake. Tesco, don't annoy your customers with so-called services that you cannot execute properly. Either do the job well or don't do it at all.
