We were there to see what kind of plants were for purchase, not getting a great sandwich. While walking the rows of booths we were getting hungry, I did see somewhere they were selling Philly cheese steaks, I dismissed it like really a Philly from a food truck and calling it a Philly also. But as I was walking the isles I caught a view of one of those cheese steaks and wow...I could see it was prepared with a proper Amoroso roll too. Okay, I got to check this joint out and glad we did. We ordered a large to split with fries. Perhaps one of the best in the area. Roll was fresh and steak done just right with cheese and onions. I will tell you this, if your ever at an event and see this truck, make it a point to stop and try it out. If you never had a cheese steak from Philly, this will be as close as your gonna get. Lately they're just out of a lot of things. These things happen I guess. The last time I went I ordered carne asada fries and got half the food I'd gotten in the past. Usually when you get the carne asada fries they cram the box to the top. This time they had a different take out container and when I opened it there was a divider in the middle and half the box was just straight up empty. $17 for a half order of fries. Absolutely wild. First, the good - the woman working on this rainy evening was very sweet. Now the not so good - the birria. My first bite was nice, it had a really good flavor and wasn't too wet, which I like. My second bite was my last because I ended up with a huge mouthful of fat. I'm pretty obsessed with birria and not only will try it anywhere I see it on a menu, but I actively seek it out when visiting other cities. Never, ever have I had even a hint of fat in birria. Ever. For anyone thinking "it was just one bite", or "if you eat it all the time, it was bound to happen", no. The right cut of beef, prepared and cooked the right way, should have zero discernible fat because it should all be rendered out. Sadly, this was one and done for this birria lover.
