Not only is she emotionally attentive but she is extremely well educated and informative. She listened to all my concerns and takes a more full body, mind and soul approach to her practice for moms and baby. I instantly felt comfortable with Trine when I entered her office, it was very welcoming and inclusive. Her energy is beautiful and safe as well. I trust her whole heartedly with my postpartum breastfeeding care plan and I've already seen such a difference after my first visit. I plan continuing my care with Trine throughout my breastfeeding journey. I appreciated that she also had incredible advice on supplements to take for my PCOS and swelling post c section that were followed up with sources backed by research. Do yourself a favor and book with Trine. You will not regret it and you will leave learning many new things with confidence in caring for yourself and your newborn when it comes to all things feeding!

I have been telling every friend and provider I can about her. Trine is the IBCLC I wish I had found with my first child and I'm so thankful I've found her now. Her office space is welcoming, clean, easy to access, and conducive to the work she does. She explains everything she is doing and empowers caregivers to learn what she is doing with your baby so you can take it home and feel confident. She gives so much information, but don't worry, she knows that postpartum caregivers have so much on their minds so she doesn't expect you to remember every single thing she says. Her way to support you is to provide a detailed but succinct visit note in a timely manner after your visit. She encourages you to ask questions and no question is silly. She also is very understanding if you walk into your appointment and your baby immediately has a massive diaper blowout. Ask me how I know. I highly recommend Trine to anyone needing this type of support.

With this being my 2nd baby I didn't expect to need much support beyond the tie revisions and wound checks. Boy was I wrong Emily, Dr Cara, and rest of the staff were amazing and I would have given up on breastfeeding if it wasn't for all their support and encouragement. Matter of fact when baby wasn't gaining I told Emily I was just going to give her formula and her kindness and words of encouragement kept me moving along. I got a clog right a week after delivery and literally tried everything to get it out, unfortunately nothing worked and it developed into mastitis, we tried all the other things at the office (ultrasound, hospital grade pump, castor oil, sunflower lecithin) and 3 antibiotics with no luck. Dr Cara worked with her network to get me seen ASAP for aspiration which unfortunately made things worse because we found out after cultures came back I had MRSA infection and it just spread i. The next morning I contacted Emily and Dr Cara and they helped me get into a great breast specialist the next day. I definitely needed it and after they drained out much of the infection (and put in a drain) I felt much better. It's seriously been a traumatic birth and first month so their kindness, professionalism, knowledge and quick help was so appreciated. I'd recommend anyone to see them for any lactation/breastfeeding help/support needed.

Now I wonder is AZ Breastfeeding staff is vaccinated and I'm kicking myself for not asking. Lastly their website said my insurance plan would cover services it did not, and their partner Expressions of Life is threatening me with cancellation fees for her lack of vaccination. Essentially punishing me for not wanting to put my babies life at risk. Again, if you don't care about science this is the place for you.

My daughter was born at 36 wks and 4 days and because she was "late preterm" the lactation nurse at Scottsdale Osborn had all kinds of ignorant and discouraging things to say about us breast feeding. (One particular comment I will never forget. She said my baby's "mouth was too small" since she was born so early and I would probably have to bottle feed for awhile. I could go on for days). Doris came to my home and got right to business. She wasn't cold and pushy, but calm and to the point. It was just what I needed when I my nerves were high. I'll never forget what Doris said to me either, "There's nothing wrong with this baby except she's confused." (Suck? Why suck on a breast when life is so easy with the fast flow nipples the hospital kindly provided?). She got us breast feeding in about 30 minutes. I will forever be grateful for the skills and knowledge Doris provided and for passing those things on to us. Well worth the fee we paid!!!

My labor was long and intense, many hours of unmedicated labor and when we faced a sudden pivot to a C-section due to our baby's position, Amy was our anchor. She walked us through every single step, making sure I still felt informed and in control during a situation where control felt lost. What I appreciate most was her deep empathy, she sat with me and gave me the space to grieve the change in my birth plan and be scared. She didn't rush me past those feelings. When my husband wasn't allowed in the prep room, Amy was right there by my side. In the scariest moments, she held my hand, answered every question, and kept me grounded. Her calm energy is unmatched, and at times it honestly felt like she could read my mind. That wasn't just luck. This was because of how thoroughly she prepared with us beforehand. She took the time to truly learn how I process pain and what I need in high-pressure situations. She was just as important for my husband as she was for me, offering him constant reassurance. When our baby was born, he was able to leave my side to follow our baby with complete ease, knowing I wasn't alone and that Amy was taking care of me. Amy is extraordinary at what she does. Not too long into our journey as first time parents did we realize we were not enjoying a single second with our newborn, and instead we were pacing the house for endless hours with a screaming/crying baby. I knew something had to be done because my husband and I were at the brink of insanity (not sleeping for two weeks will do that to you). After much research, I found Desiree, and I have never looked back. I have told Desiree countless times she is worth her weight in cool. Prior to hiring Desiree, we had a baby that would not sleep in her bassinet, would only nap if someone was holding her, and wouldn't really eat. I quite literally coined our baby as the "gassiest, most fussy baby," and I remember Desiree telling me, "No you don't, don't worry I got you." She explained her training program and how things would be done and we fully trusted her and her expertise. Within a few days, we already noticed a difference. Our baby was now napping in her bassinet, was eating, smiling, and RARELY crying. Fast forward a few weeks, our baby is fully sleeping through the night, from 7 pm to 7 am. My husband and I can actually have time together to have dinner and watch a show after she goes down, and it has been the best thing for our marriage. At every corner we turned, Desiree was there. Any time I needed her or expressed any sort of concern, she was there to talk me through it and guide us on what worked best for our baby. She is an absolutely incredible human being and we already know we will use her for our next baby. Since we had such a good experience, we decided to hire Desiree for a year so she can be there throughout the different milestones and guide us on what needs to be done. If you are reading this at 3 am and sleep deprived, I promise Desiree is the portal to you finally enjoying your baby. We are forever grateful.

I wanted someone who could help me understand my options, prepare for labor, and provide support beyond what I expected from my medical team. Hiring a doula gave me the reassurance that I wouldn't have to navigate the experience alone. Knowing Michelle would be there to guide, educate, and encourage me made me feel much more confident and prepared going into my first birth. After that, having a doula, for me, was a non-negotiable. Michelle has been by my side for the births of all three of my children, and I can't imaging a birth without her. Each experience was so unique and different, but her support, knowledge, and encouragement were invaluable every single time. I wanted unmedicated births, and Michelle gave me the confidence, preparation, and tools I needed to achieve that goal. During labor, she knew exactly how to support me physically and emotionally, helping me stay focused and calm through some of the most challenging moments. When I doubted myself, she reminded me of my strength and helped me trust my body. What sets Michelle apart is that she doesn't just show up on the day of your birth. She invests in her clients, provides evidence-based information, answers questions, and helps you feel empowered to make decisions that are right for you and your family. Her presence brought a sense of peace and confidence that benefited not only me, but also my husband. She helped my husband understand my needs and how to be a source of strength. She guided him through ways to encourage and comfort me during labor, which allowed us to work together as a team and made the experience even more positive. Because of Michelle's support, I look back on all three of my birth experiences with gratitude and pride. If you're considering hiring a doula, I wholeheartedly recommend the Modern Momma team; they are compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, and truly passionate about helping mothers have positive and empowering birth experiences.

She is clearly knowledgeable and experienced, and I am thankful for the role she played in my birth. During transition and pushing, she offered guidance and support that was helpful in those intense final hours. I do believe she understands birth well and brings expertise to the room. That said, there were a few things that did not sit right with me. At multiple points during contractions, when I looked up, she was visibly on Facebook and Instagram. I understand that long labors can involve downtime, but she was only physically present at the hospital for a few hours during transition and pushing. Given the relatively short window of in person support, it felt disappointing and inappropriate that she was on social media during that time. It made me feel like she was not fully present in such a vulnerable moment. There were also moments where her reactions felt disproportionate, such as when the toilet water unexpectedly splashed up. Her response heightened the situation rather than helping me feel grounded and calm. In addition, I found the overall value of the package to be underwhelming compared to other doulas I interviewed. Many offered formal childbirth classes (which were extra through MM) and ongoing support groups as part of their services, whereas Modern Mama primarily offered monthly mini classes on rotating topics, which did not always feel directly relevant or comprehensive. For the investment, I had expected more structured education and support. Though I was appreciative of the nice photos that were included. I am grateful for her knowledge and the role she played in helping bring my baby into the world, but I do wish the level of presence, professionalism, and overall value had been stronger throughout the experience. I likely won't hire Modern Mama again although I don't have experience with the other doulas.
