Knowledgeable about their equipment and coordinated great with my electrician to make sure I had necessary power for install. Received detailed quotation in less than a week's time, Ed was very open to responding to my questions about the quote and helping educate me about split system A/Cs. After placing my deposit I was able to get on their schedule for installation in about 3 weeks. Unlike many other companies, Hawaii Fireplaces & Air installs ceiling mount mini-split systems which look clean and seamless and don't stick out from the wall in each room. It is more work to install the ceiling mount style but very worth it. No one would every guess I didn't have central A/C. Every employee and installer was helpful and worked as a team which says a lot for company management. Installing A/C for the first time is expensive and a big investment and you want it done by experienced installers with a great attention to detail. I plan to also use them for continued maintenance to keep my system running great for years to come.

The couple that came was husband and his wife joined, since it was at my home. They spent several hours diagnosing and I was told I needed to replace the motor, I ordered the motor and called the company back to schedule an appointment to install my motor. I heard back a week later via a voice message which started with "I am married "which is creepy unprofessional, and very uncomfortable so I kept my distance while Rod was installing the motor. I would normally watch to make things were doing done properly. Rod finished installing the motor and left four screws out! I asked where do they belong no answer! I sent emails complaining about the screws and they just brushed me aside and will not acknowledge the problem. I explained that it's similar to not securing the footings when you're building a home. My bill for diagnosing was $266 which Rod and his wife Tamy said, included their time, I paid the bill. The bill for installing the motor was $428.09 one person 45 minutes, there seems to be a major discrepancy financially here. This was one of the most uncomfortable, nonprofessional companies I've ever dealt with and Jamie . The office manager is a bully to boot. I really don't want to pay them a penny however, I will pay them something but certainly the fee they're asking for which they did not tell me upfront. I've been trying to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to resolve this matter. However, the website is down. I will not give up.

From the time of initial contact until today, I had a roof leak that penetrated my ceiling that evolved (with recent heavy rains) to two (2) ceiling roof leaks. Nearly every week and a half, I made contact with TDS in an attempt to assess/price the work. I was met each time with casual apologies and weak excuses of why I did not receive a callback, or why staff never showed up to assess the work to be done. I work for an affordable housing development company (likely the most reputable on this island) and have rarely come across such horrible service/bedside manner - service that I would absolutely not tolerate from any contractor conducting work for one of my company's projects. I have decided to move on as, only TODAY, TDS informed me that it would not even be able to conduct the work for another four (4) months. To not have the foresight of understanding a customer's immediate need (even after it had been clearly explained at the onset) is poor business manner and a major disappointment to say the least.
