A really nice, cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly but did have to wait for a waitress to come serve us. Big hit for me, left the tea pitcher on the table to refill glasses. That was a big +. The meal was great. Full order means two large pieces of meat which is good if hungry. Overall the meal is great and a nice experience.

Very good food and service. Staff that waited on us was very friendly! Portion size was ample enough for the price paid for items.

I got the black raspberry, my son ordered almond vanilla, and my daughter had the prickly pear. They were all delicious! We had toasted ravioli and crab stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. Oh my god! Sooo GOOD!! Not to mention the awesome breadsticks! For entrees, we had the lobster ravioli, chicken Marsala, and the blackened chicken Alfredo. We all enjoyed our meal immensely. We were a little disappointed that they were out of cannolis, as that was the main reason we chose to go there, but they had cannoli cake... which was truly delightful. You can really tell that everything is made in house. The staff were very pleasant, and our waitress was very friendly and answered our many questions. The restaurant was clean and cozy. Two mild criticisms: *I wish I knew to ask for them to omit the sprinkles on top of the whipped cream on the Italian soda. It did make it pretty, but was odd when ending up in your mouth via straw. Maybe a light dusting of colored sugar would be better. *My chicken, while delicious, was a tad dry. I think it probably could've rested a little longer before slicing. Ultimately a great experience and excellent food!

Back in May when I went there for a Saturday lunch was seated right away, but took forever to get waited on. Then tonight meet family there from Terre Haute, walked in told a 30 minute wait, now there is 2 booth for 4 open, another corner table just needed cleaned that probably could seat 4 to 6 this is in lower lever. Then in the upper, there is a 2 topper I think, another 4 topper, and 2 6 toppers and another 6 topper came open. But still not seating people, I watch a gentleman that was alone not wait around and couple of 4 groups and couple 2 groups also end up leaving, we finally a group of 4 after waiting more then the 30 minutes. It is like the waitresses can only handle 1 table or group at a time. Sorry I work waitressing in a family own/ran establishment and you better be able to handle several and I many like 5 or 10 tables and large group at the same time. Never been so disappointed. Oh, did I mention we drive a good hour to go here.

I am writing about a delivery, so I can't comment on the restaurant itself. I took a star off because they did not provide any utensils or napkins in the delivery bag which made for a delayed meal since I had to go searching for a fork. The garden salad was very good. So crisp and fresh. The tomatoes were yummy, and I liked the surprise of celery amoungst the greens. The greens were mixed and not just iceberg which elevated the salad quite a bit. I always say I judge an Italian restaurant by their sauce, and this one was ok. Very sweet. Not thick. It wanted for something. I ordered the half portion of angel hair pasta, and it was still a very generous amount. I added a meatball which tasted more like an Italian sausage in a ball with a bit of spice and a chewier consistency. I wasn't mad at it, but it wasn't the seasoned ground beef crumble I expected. All in all, the meal was good, just lacking in some of things I expected from a place everyone seemed to like about it. I would probably go back and maybe try some of the other dishes next time I am in Terre Haute, if only to see if maybe it was just that order.

The ambience is a mixture of a French restaurant meeting an Italian restaurant somehow looking like an American Diner with a menu that had a little of everything. Our server was very attentive even though the restaurant was full and she seemed to be the only server. She was delightful and gave us good recommendations. My coworker ordered a Caprese Panini and a Caesar salad. Obviously this wasn't my recommendation if you've read any of my other reviews! She said it was a great sandwich but wasn't a fan of the homemade chips. I was impressed that she didn't give me the stink eye when I explained my need to photograph her food :) I had the lunch portion of chicken parmesean that was really good. Nice portion of chicken and pasta and a great flavor - I would definitely order it again. Oddly, this came with a side of my choice just like the sandwich menu. I chose a side of fries and they were ok fries. Nothing Earth shattering but not bad. It's a great lunch option at a reasonable price and I'd return if I found myself in the area. Where else can I get a burger, a tenderloin, an order of onion rings and a fettuccine Alfredo all from the same place!?

The caprese didn't had much flavor. It was pretty basic caprese salad. The calamari I thought was also not crunchy enough or super flavorful. For dinner, we my partner had lasagna and I had the crusted chicken skillet. He thought the lasagna was pretty good but not the best he ever had. However, the crusted chicken skillet exceeded all expectations. It was GREAT. Hiighly recommend. The rice is sits on is flavorful and full of good veggies. Then the chicken is thin but juicy and really flavorful as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. With these we got house made chips. They were fine. However, I would get a different side if I went again. They tasted like slightly better potato chips. Service was 10/10. Super quick and attentive. This place has a local vibe. They also had great specials that looked good.

She quickly asked good questions and later came back excited to share that she and Dave felt like I should try chicken francese. Wow...excellent choice by both of them. (I don't like wine so chicken Marsala was not their suggestion because it has a bit of wine flavoring, but I have had it and it's very good also). All indications are the staff are very cohesive and have great synergy. My wife was very content with her chicken caroza. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was fairly quiet. The recent nice weather and outdoor athletics might have kept the crowd down a little bit. But usually the place is packed. And, for good reasons. It's a wonderful (hidden) gem for Brazil. The place is clean and comfortable. Decorations and music are cool. Before departing, Dave took a few minutes to compare notes with our culinary experiences. He was excited to promote all small family owned businesses, as are we, that have great reputations. Don't hesitate to get out of your franchise restaurant mode and go to Piloni's. They are supporting local business by being in business. 5+ stars for sure!!!!

We met the owner, who cooks many of their signature dishes, his daughter who manages the restaurant, and his granddaughter who was the hostess that night. We happened to be traveling through the area, celebrating our 50th anniversary, and they went out of their way to make it a memorable night for us! The restaurant has the feeling of a your smaller, neighborhood Italian restaurant that makes their dishes from recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next. By the time we left, they made us feel like we were part of their extended family, if only for an evening. And when you're traveling on the road, that's a mighty nice feeling! Do yourself a favor, the next time you are in the area, plan on making this a destination. It's well worth it! The bad: The wait staff was not very engaged. I wanted this review to be about the food but that just wasn't meant to be. The Ugly: I am very well travelled on 3 continents. I've dined elegantly as well as from street vendors and I have NEVER had service that was this off putting to the point of being overtly rude, and I am an American who has eaten in France and doesn't speak much French. When we wouldn't sit at the bar, even though the main area was only 1/4 occupied They moved our party of 2 into the side room with chairs up on tables. It went downhill from there. Due to this, it wasn't possible to really enjoy what should have been a fine meal. I will say it is a wise policy to ask for payment and tip ahead of this type of service before it is provided.
