Great food every time we have been there. The pastas are authentic and yummy. The sandwiches are great and perfect size! Waitress was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu.

I was visiting family in the area and they suggested Gerri's for dinner on a Friday night. I grew up in a small town and now live in a city, so I actually get super excited about visiting small town favorites. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday and they were very busy. A good sign. We were greeted immediately, seated immediately and they were so friendly. Our server came right away and answered many questions we had about the menu. The menu is plentiful with so many options. The mushrooms and fried cheese looked amazing, but the portions were huge and more than two people could eat with a meal. That said, we opted to skip an appetizer and just went with two meals instead. We ordered the Veal and Chicken Parmesan. Both came with a side salad that was HUGE, breadsticks with marinara sauce and pasta on the side. It was so much food that I was nearly full when the main entree arrived. This meant I had lunch for the next day as well! Overall good experience. Service was great. Excellent price for what you get. I've definitely had better Parmesan dishes, so I would give the food taste a C, but the quantity and service an easy A. Like I said previously, the side salad is huge. Added bonus, the house made balsamic is delicious. On colder nights, don't sit by he front door and windows. The draft is pretty intense and requires that you pretty much keep your coat on for dinner.

Our server was so friendly and ensured the kitchen was accommodating to food allergies at the table. The portions were ample and tasty.

I am writing about a delivery, so I can't comment on the restaurant itself. I took a star off because they did not provide any utensils or napkins in the delivery bag which made for a delayed meal since I had to go searching for a fork. The garden salad was very good. So crisp and fresh. The tomatoes were yummy, and I liked the surprise of celery amoungst the greens. The greens were mixed and not just iceberg which elevated the salad quite a bit. I always say I judge an Italian restaurant by their sauce, and this one was ok. Very sweet. Not thick. It wanted for something. I ordered the half portion of angel hair pasta, and it was still a very generous amount. I added a meatball which tasted more like an Italian sausage in a ball with a bit of spice and a chewier consistency. I wasn't mad at it, but it wasn't the seasoned ground beef crumble I expected. All in all, the meal was good, just lacking in some of things I expected from a place everyone seemed to like about it. I would probably go back and maybe try some of the other dishes next time I am in Terre Haute, if only to see if maybe it was just that order.

The ambience is a mixture of a French restaurant meeting an Italian restaurant somehow looking like an American Diner with a menu that had a little of everything. Our server was very attentive even though the restaurant was full and she seemed to be the only server. She was delightful and gave us good recommendations. My coworker ordered a Caprese Panini and a Caesar salad. Obviously this wasn't my recommendation if you've read any of my other reviews! She said it was a great sandwich but wasn't a fan of the homemade chips. I was impressed that she didn't give me the stink eye when I explained my need to photograph her food :) I had the lunch portion of chicken parmesean that was really good. Nice portion of chicken and pasta and a great flavor - I would definitely order it again. Oddly, this came with a side of my choice just like the sandwich menu. I chose a side of fries and they were ok fries. Nothing Earth shattering but not bad. It's a great lunch option at a reasonable price and I'd return if I found myself in the area. Where else can I get a burger, a tenderloin, an order of onion rings and a fettuccine Alfredo all from the same place!?

She quickly asked good questions and later came back excited to share that she and Dave felt like I should try chicken francese. Wow...excellent choice by both of them. (I don't like wine so chicken Marsala was not their suggestion because it has a bit of wine flavoring, but I have had it and it's very good also). All indications are the staff are very cohesive and have great synergy. My wife was very content with her chicken caroza. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was fairly quiet. The recent nice weather and outdoor athletics might have kept the crowd down a little bit. But usually the place is packed. And, for good reasons. It's a wonderful (hidden) gem for Brazil. The place is clean and comfortable. Decorations and music are cool. Before departing, Dave took a few minutes to compare notes with our culinary experiences. He was excited to promote all small family owned businesses, as are we, that have great reputations. Don't hesitate to get out of your franchise restaurant mode and go to Piloni's. They are supporting local business by being in business. 5+ stars for sure!!!!

On the appointed evening, before we could even tell the hostess we had a reservation, she informed us that minors were not allowed and we'd have to leave -- despite the fact that my parents' 13-year-old grandson was with us. I explained we had a reservation. It didn't matter. I explained the occasion. It still didn't matter. We were asked to leave. At no point did she apologize for the inconvenience. At no point did she offer an alternative. When my sister asked if she had any suggestions for another restaurant in this small town, she said she had none. We stood on the sidewalk and regrouped. I sent my family ahead to J. Fords Black Angus, where we ended up having a wonderful meal and outstanding service. I went back into Bar Bosco to let them know how poorly this had gone, and to suggest a simple fix: a note on the reservation page about the age restriction, so this doesn't happen to the next out-of-town family. Her responses, verbatim: "Not my fault." "I don't take care of the website." "Not my job." I asked for the manager. Unavailable, she reported. I asked for his name so I could follow up. She refused. I asked for her name. She refused that too. If a restaurant has a no-minors policy, that's a reasonable choice -- but not disclosing it anywhere during online booking, then handling the fallout with zero accountability and zero willingness to help, is not. This was, hands down, one of the most callous and condescending encounters I've had in a restaurant, and it happened on a night meant to celebrate something joyful for my parents. J. Fords Black Angus in Terre Haute, on the other hand, deserves real praise. Hostess Hope and server Brian went out of their way to make the evening special -- they wished my parents a happy 60th and helped turn a frustrating start into one of the best memories of the whole trip.
