Had Sherri and Jake Bohmer as general contractors on a LARGE renovation, which included: a 100sq ft…read moreaddition to the entryway, completely replaced the entire building envelope, the moving of several doors & windows placements, repouring my driveway with appropriate perimetre drains, removal of interior walls, replacing with new banisters and many more small finishings. Sherri and Jake are wonderful to work with. They were honest and direct, the contract was thorough and any change orders were discussed openly. Sherri understood that I needed to hold onto funds as contingency, once we knew we didn't need contingency funds we were able to add more to the work being done. Jake's building team and subcontractors were all utter gentlemen. Polite, helpful and as clean as a work site could be. Some of the interior fixtures that were delivered were not correct, Jake offered to send it back and get what we had initially ordered. But I happened to like them anyway. So Jake secured a discount from the company for the company's screw up (wrong SKU # was placed on the boxes). I have had nothing but compliments on the work from my neighbours and strangers passing by. The work took much longer than was initially anticipated - but there were weather issues, product delivery delays and holidays and some illness's along the way - aka 'LIFE.' At the end of the project, my husband and I are THRILLED at the result. I would highly recommend Sherri and Jake for any project. Katie Brady

We had Bohmer do our Master Ensuite in 2017 and can say nothing but exceptional work done in a…read moretimely fashion, while we moved upstairs during renovations. We chose the decor and Jake and Sherri managed the deconstruction, supply and install. This included painting of both the master ensuite and our bedroom + installation of new fans, walk-in shower, walk-in closet, heated tile floors, vanity and barn doors. Jake came up with an innovative idea to resolve a complex fan installation in a peaked vaulted ceiling. The barn doors took a bit of infill construction to replace the old French doors and upper window separating the master onsite. We were also very satisfied with the expertise of their electrical, plumbing, dry-walling and painting subcontractors. After 2.5 years we are more than happy with the results and budget was kept in check on an on-going basis. We purchased a commercial space in a new building in 2018 which required considerable work to finish. Bohmer was our first choice to complete this task which included the addition of 3 separate rooms, painting and the hanging of barn doors. Time was of the essence as our tenants were preparing to move in ASAP. An estimate was completed and adjustments were several as per changing tenant requirements. Bohmer came in on time, our tenants were and still are amazed with the space. Bohmer remains our first choice in the Comox Valley for renovation. Thank you Jake and Sherri.

This company is horrible!!!. If my family could give them negative stars we would. I would not…read morerecommend them to my worst enemy. They found an issue with my elderly Nanny's condensate line last August (2018) - a rodent had chewed the line. They said they had to order parts. It took until April of this year (2019) to finally get the parts and their excuse was they were back ordered because it isn't a usual part to fail. My cousin called the distributor who told her that it was untrue - It was that Thermotec never followed up with the order. To add insult to injury Thermotec charged my Nanny $474.23 to put in a plastic tube that they stated took 3.5 hrs- to which the grossly inflated the hrs the technician was even at her house & charged a $30 truck charge on top of it all. In January Nanny's HP wasn't working (again) so she called Thermotec (because they were the ones that installed the system) they came out and charged her over $200 (plus truck charge again) to change the batteries in her remote as that turned out to be the issue- over $200 for a couple of $$ worth of batteries- disgusting. It was at this time that Nanny mentioned she was still waiting for the part from last August which was was triggered them to get on ordering it.Nanny lives on her own as Poppa just died a few months ago so my cousin spoke to the owner of Thermotec, Mike, about the invoices and all he did was interrupt her & tell her how rude she was for trying to help Nanny from being ripped off. He also said that the part they ordered (condensate line) is not available as it is not a usual part to fail- why did Thermotec install equipment in my elderly grandparents home in the first place if parts are unavailable? We have since learned that condensate line can be bought at Andrew Sheret for most Heat pumps. Mike just looked for EVERY excuse in the book & said he would not even reduce the invoice when my cousin asked - his response was that he had a business to run and didn't care if we felt that Nanny was being taken advantage of. Nanny has put out over $1000.00 in total repair on equipment only a couple years old & shouldn't be gauged by a greedy arrogant business owner.
