The expertise of the Terminx crew is worth noting! They are helpful and courteous. I had a bug problem and sugar ants, were everywhere. Terminix came through for me and I haven't had any issues since. read more

Terminix identified the issue and charged me $2,000 to clean and secure the area, with the assurance they would return to monitor traps and confirm the problem was resolved. They came twice, removed one rat, set new traps--and then stopped showing up. The technician never scheduled proper follow-up appointments; instead, he would text the day of, sometimes with only minutes or hours' notice. When I reported ongoing activity, we scheduled an appointment, he rescheduled, and when he finally came, we set another follow-up for Monday. He never showed and I never heard from him again. On their last visit, I was told they couldn't get on the roof to inspect for possible entry points and that I needed to hire a roofer myself. I still have rats actively entering my attic, so the service I paid for did not resolve the infestation. read more

Terminix does not provide quality service nor do they care about customer satisfaction in the least. In May 2025, I paid nearly $11,000 to have my house tented with the goal of eliminating the skunk that was living in our crawl space. This included $2,160 for "crawl space clean out and carcass removal." While they removed four rats from the crawl space, they missed the skunk and told me it must have died in the walls. I was devastated to hear that we would have to wait months for the skunk carcass to decompose for the horrific scent to go away. About a month later, my brother-in-law came to visit and was blown away by the stench. He crawled under the house in shorts and a t-shirt and removed the skunk within 15 minutes. I called Terminix and requested a refund for the "carcass removal" as it was not completed. I did not ask for a full refund, only for the services that were not provided. They refused. This is bad business and I do not recommend Terminix. Find another company that actually cares about their customers. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I never write a review, but our experience with this company was so bad - I felt I needed to share, hopefully to save someone else the headache. We contracted with them to remove insulation contaminated by rodents, clean the area and to replace the insulation. They came out one time and removed the contaminated insulation - but that was it. They sent the Full invoice for payment, and never came back. After numerous calls and emails over months, they finally acknowledged the job was incomplete - they came back and cleaned the area, but did not install new insulation. They then tried to say that new insulation was not included, even though it is specifically called out separately in our bid. Then they said they would only install blown-in insulation, not batt insulation; however, the area is a crawl space and they removed batt insulation. We then asked numerous times to remove the charge for replacing the insulation, and we would just pay the bill for removing the contaminated insulation and cleaning. After numerous attempts to contact the company to resolve the issue, the company just sent the bill to collections - without ever getting back to us to resolve the issue. I was repeatedly told by people on the phone that they completely understand, and that they would talk to a supervisor- NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO US. I repeat, please save yourself the headache - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You only ever talk to people in call centers. They do not even complete the work themselves. They are a huge corporation that contracts with local contractors, and just makes money off the name. Save yourself the trouble and just hire a local pest control company. We ended up having our building termite tented by a local company, and the service was great! The local company had a better price, better service and you actually get to talk to a live person in your area! read more

BUYER BEWARE termites LOVE that Terminix let's them live and chow down on your place. We just purchased a home that terminix claimed they had maintained for the past 20 years. Within 12 hours of purchasing the home we've found termite dropping inEVERY room in the house. Some damage so was bad, that a 2x4 that fell over once the drywall was removed and there was only a paper thin and fell to the ground. The company is claiming we, as the buyers, didn't see the damage, so how should THEY have known, maybe because we aren't "Qualified termite inspector!" I would NEVER RECOMMEND or do business with this company. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My elderly parents recently contracted Rentokil/Terminix for fumigation services, and the experience has been a nightmare. Upon returning home, they discovered numerous broken, missing, and displaced roof tiles. Worse still, a roof leak has appeared that wasn't there before the work was done. When my parents reported the issue to Rentokil/Terminix, they were met with a frustrating lack of accountability. Instead of resolving the issue, the company passed the blame to the subcontractor they hired. The subcontractor, in turn, has done the same, leaving my parents stuck in a cycle of finger-pointing with no resolution in sight. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a company that markets itself as professional and reliable. My parents trusted Rentokil/Terminix to do the job right and take responsibility for any issues, but they've been left with costly damage and endless headaches. If you're considering using Rentokil/Terminix, STEER CLEAR--their lack of accountability and poor customer service are not worth the risk! read more

This company is a scam! Called corporate to setup pest control service, they did not explain that we'd be billed monthly for quarterly service. Had initial service done and as I'm signing the contract, the tech tells me how their billing/service schedule works. I said that they didn't tell me that when I initially setup service and he apologized. I immediately called to cancel and now have been billed $600. The "gentleman" that just called me from the local branch was sarcastic and rude! When I contacted corporate again, the lady tells me that she deals with calls like mine all of the time and that she agrees their sales people don't explain how things work, but there's nothing she can do... wow... do better!!! read more

POOR SERVICE I requested the removal of rodents in attic I have a dispute with contact. Very dissatisfied with the technician! After getting here, I asked if he had the list of repairs needed. He did not do the repairs! Still have rodents in attic! I do not recommend this business!!! read more

They stood us up 3 times, so I asked to cancel my request for service completely. Instead, they kept scheduling technicians to come to my home without my knowledge or consent. I had to watch my account for a week and contact them every time a new appointment magically appeared without my consent. I told them I didn't want to pay for a service I didn't authorize. I didn't catch the third time they scheduled an appt & a technician supposedly came to my house & performed a service. I wasn't there to witness it. I contacted them & they apologized and said I would not be charged. They said they canceled and zeroed out my acct. Eight hours later, I got an alert that payment had processed. Nothing I did mattered. Nothing they said was ever true. It felt like a scam & and shake down the whole time. I was trapped & they reassured me over and over they'd fix it. And each time, it was a lie. They even spelled my name wrong from the start & refused to correct it. I've never had a string of interactions like this in my life. First they wouldn't help me, and then they wouldn't take no for answer. It's disturbing they can do business that way and get away with it. Not everyone can afford to pay for a service that is forced on them against their will. read more

The Santa Maria Terminix location is horrible, don't use them, you'll be sorry. They never answer the phone or return calls.

I was tricked by these terrible people. Ashley stood in my home and lied to my face. Telling me I had rodents and telling me I could cancel at any time. They damaged my attic and my yard and are charging me 1,000.00 yo cancel after Ashley said I could cancel at any time. They are thief's!! I honestly feel sick I don't know how people like this sleep at night. Scaring and lying to people in their homes! read more

Used for quarterly service and the technician texted us to remind us of upcoming service. My husband called to let him know there was a small hole that needed repair which was identified by an electrician doing a repair. The technician said he would handle it but when he showed up stated he could look at it but another technician would need to come out for this repair. So we would need two appointments but why not tell us that or, even better, send that technician to do both the repair and the regular maintenance. We talked to the manager who then states we would be charged for the repair. No problem but shouldn't the technician tell us that when we spoke to him. Then he checks the attic and tells us there were traps but they hadn't been set so he set them. Fast forward a week when we cancel with this company after paying for the service and hire another company. This new amazing and thorough technician from another company stated the traps were not set and after hearing our story, didn't charge for this first inspection and estimate. I highly recommend calling any other company for service. This place does not seem to be doing the job at all. read more

We had used Terminix before and had some trouble with one of their technicians. Decided not to stay with them even though they gave us bi-monthly service for a few months free. The snails seemed to not go away. They offer if not satisfied call and they will redo the service. All that did was go towards the next service even though it was usually just a couple of weeks after the last service. April 28 Mike Razo came out to sell us the service because I decided to give them another chance. I had seen a rat along the fence and needed an exterminator. We signed up for a contract for monthly service. He said someone would call on Monday to make an appointment for initial service. Also I should call him if needed. I was on my way out and turned on my cell and it said a tech would be here in 17 minutes. I went what??????????No one called and made an appointment. OK husband stayed home. They came out my husband told them we have mice under the house and had seen a rat along the fence. I guess they did the service told my husband he was done and left. Didn't go over anything before leaving. Put a rat trap where no rats have been seen. I called Mike and he was busy doing an inspection and would have someone call me. I waited til Thursday and called the 800 #. Basically you cannot get the # for the local office. They will call you within 24-48 hours. Monday afternoon 48 hours later I called again because of no response in 48 hours. I was charged $100 for initial service and then told I was not to be reinstated with no reason why and all I did was want someone to come out and explain what was done and put the trap where the mice and rats are. Basically, you have to deal with the call center and so far no one has called me. I was told they got hold of the manager in Santa Maria and he will call me in the next 24 hours. It's been 24 hours still no call. read more

AWFUL. They fraudulently opted me into a contract and charged me TWICE of the same service and wrote in their notes that I received two services when I did not. Then they proceeded to send this bill that I didn't even know about to a debt collector and this is affecting my credit score. Terrible experience with management and in general super rude and unhelpful customer service. Not to mention, the people taking your call do not understand the proper preparation for the type of service you are receiving so be careful. Woman on the phone told us to move everything off the ground but then we were later told this was not necessary after we spent hours doing this! Would not recommend. They do not care about their customers and refuse to take complaints seriously. I would go with Orkin or a smaller company. DO NOT USE THIS TERMINIX! TERRIBLE! read more

The service techs from Terminix, Santa Maria, have all been great. We just signed up for pest control and Michael Rose did a thorough initial service, clearing out all the spider webs inside & outside (under the eaves of the entire house). Absolutely disgusting how they treat people here and the lack of communication is unprofessional. Would not recommend this branch. read more

Wish I would have read some of these reviews before I chose Terminix. Called the 1-800 line and scheduled a new service for my elderly aunt. Signed up for a new agreement, interior/exterior service 4 times a year. Scheduled an initial treatment, total of 8 minutes from the time the driver arrived to the time he drove off. Barely cleaned any webs, told my aunt he could come back later to do the inside since she couldn't leave for 2-3 hours. I tried calling customer service, tried emailing, and no response. I thought Terminix had a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. HA! Don't bother with this company, they're crooks. read more

We have had nothing but problems with Terminix. They came out once for the initial spray, charged us twice and we never got the refund (the manager credited the account instead of putting in the refund) until we called the corporate number. Then we scheduled a second visit. They showed up a day prior to spray and we couldn't do it then but couldn't make the agreed upon time that we got the email for. We rescheduled an agreed upon time, got the confirmation call and then when the day came, no one showed. I feel like this branch is a scam. Update: AFTER writing this review, we quickly got a call from the branch manager and finally received a full refund for all expenses. He also asked me to change my review once everything was settled. But I still stand by my initial review. read more

This is probably the most unethical business I have come across since moving to the central coast. I had ants & contacted them to come to my house once. Little did I know, without them informing me, they automatically enrolled me in a program that schedules future appointments every few months & charges you which I did not sign up for or request. Then, when a technician contacted me a few months later to inform me he'd be over in a few hours for an appointment I never scheduled for a regularly occurring service I never signed up for, I tried to cancel it all & they informed me I would receive a cancelation fee for something I never even signed up for!!!! Favio is simply awesome. He is kind, friendly and very professional He really cares about his clients and is a superb example of putting the customer first. I switched to Terminix last year after using a local company because I wanted to support a local business here in Paso Robles. However, I needed a more reliable and knowledgeable person/firm so my neighbors recommended Favio and Terminix. Two of the folks who live on my street also work with Favio. Anyhow, I am so happy and glad to have Favio taking care of my monthly pest needs. Because California seems to be built directly on an ant hill and I really don't care for ants in my house......so with Favio at the helm of my ant battle, my home has been ant free! Worst pest control service ever! It takes days to get a response from the Santa Maria office and only after repeated requests for help from the corporate customer service number. No one knows who is in charge at Corporate Headquarters and are not aware of a number to call there for help. Sales people are great but good luck getting customer service. The technician was awful. Talk to side of having the inside of the house done because it would take over five hours for us to be back in the house. But then said you can reschedule anytime you want just give us a call. Yeah I took over a week and a half to actually get to a message machine that I could leave a message. He didn't provide any of the services we had paid for. It's impossible to cancel your service from the website. I felt it was kind of like a gym membership easy to get into, impossible to get out of. CEO Kim Scott and Regional Manager Lance Martin should be aware of what a disaster this company has become. This is by far the worst phone tree system with the most disorganized record keeping system you could ever imagine! Sloppy, unprofessional customer service from lazy 855 phone reps to absent-minded 'follow up' from branch management and field reps. This 5 Star goes for our Terminix Technician Ishmael Armijo. He is prompt, professional, does a great job, answers our questions and gives us helpful suggestions. If it wasn't for Ishmael, we probably wouldn't be with Terminix and the rating would be zero stars. There have been too many times in the past where I am on hold for extended periods of time, then the line would just disconnect. Once I got through to the employees answering the phones they weren't always helpful. We had an issue that needed to be addressed fairly quickly, normally we are not in a rush, but 2 weeks did not help us in this one situation. One time I was explaining to one employee that we needed to have a technician come because we were having issues with gophers. The girl then asked me if they were coming in the house. I don't think she knew what gophers are. So as long as we work directly with Ismael Armijo, we are satisfied customers. read more
