It determines whether I proceed. Kenneth (wildlife expert) was the 1st person I interacted with. Kayla (ofc mgr) was the 2nd... I can't say enough about these 2 employees! They both went above & beyond. They made me feel like they understood what I was going through, and it didn't seem like it was just a job for them. I feel they actually cared about my concerns. I called because I saw a gray rat snake on my porch after baby birds. I was terrified. Like REALLY petrified!!! Kenneth explained in detail where it possibly came from, and he calmed my fears by explaining a solution. He was calm. I like a a lot of information so that I can make an informed decision. He was patient with me, answered all my questions, and was polite & kind. Because of his customer service, I canceled my ongoing account with Orkin, and switched to this company 100%. They provide the same service as Orkin, but the additional service of wildlife protection, for basically the same price. My next encounter was with the office manager Kayla. She also was kind, helpful and patient. She walked me through how to sign up for the online account. And even though I called back several times she was kind and patient each time, and walked me through the process step by step until I completed sign-up. Her instructions were perfect. When I told her I don't give out credit card information over the phone, she figured out a way for me to do it myself online. I am happy to be a new customer because of these 2. Because of these 2, I have also recommended this company to several others in my neighborhood who are experiencing the same snakes (Kenneth explained they are most likely coming from nearby land being cleared in our subdivision for new lots). I also recommended this company to friends and family who live elsewhere in the city that I think could benefit from their expertise. Give them a try!

I thought I had squirrels in my home but they confirmed that I didn't. The young man who came was pleasant and thorough. I thought it was overpriced- $300 for less than an hour. It would have been applied to any treatment if needed, but it was a flat assessment fee.

    So I have a raccoon problem and needed assistance with it. They did come out pretty quickly but…read moreeverything went downhill from there. First of all it was $700 to set up one cage and have it monitored. They said no matter how many animals they catch that's the price. I noticed that the bait they put in the cage was gone and not replaced for 2 days so i called and their unprofessional "supervisor" told me that the more I call the more it impedes on the process. There were probably maybe 10 days out of 2 months that the cage had bait in it. They caught a rabbit. After two months of waiting I asked if they were going to move on with fixing my hole in my chimney and they said I was supposed to call them when there has been 7 consecutive days of no activity... it had been months!!! They're the one's monitoring, by the way. So they said we'll come out on an all day time frame to pick up the cage and move on with the next steps. They came and grabbed the cage but never called, text or knocked. I will never use them again and I hope no one does. Abysmal customer service (if you can call it that) and did a piss poor job. By the way, still dealing with raccoons but critter control already caught one and is much cheaper. This company is a S C A M!!!!

My calls have been ignored and "disconnected" on multiple occasions. I was also told by Mr. JIM that the owner said that my problem didn't have anything to do with them and they didn't know what to tell me to do. Instead, they send an invoice to the Loan Company, they convinced me to use for their $722.00 removal services (that didn't remove a thing) Sunbit I am disputing the loan with, stating that they rendered services at my store. That is A COMPLETE LIE! After Sunbit sends me the fake invoice they sent, I call the number on the invoice and get Steve who says that he's not the owner of the company and he would have to get the owner to call me back. He also stated that everyone that has utilized their company has been completely satisfied with their services. I stated that if I didn't get a call back along with the letter stating that services were not rendered that I would take it to social media. To which he (Steve) responds with the contract that I signed, prohibits me from doing that. Since they broke the contract by not rendering services and won't send a simple email stating that I didn't receive their service, that statement is NULL & VOID!!! !!!!DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! #ScamAlert #ServicesNotRendered #betterbusinessbureau

    I had an exellent experience with this company. I had a chipmonk get into the house from leaving…read morethe back door propped open. My dog found the chipmonk under the couch. I called and they got someone to the house within the hour. After about 20 mintues the technician had netted the chipmonk! Everyone I dealt with from the call center to the technician was very professional and friendly. The fee was $399.00. They did explain to me that if the chipmonk wasn't caught they would set a trap and come back when it reappeared. Thank goodness, the poor thing was caught. Thank you for doing such a great job!

But what they don't tell you it is your money is nonrefundable. We had a dog in my neighborhood damaged one of their cages. I went to the neighbor to let them know what happened and worked a solution out. I let them know and they said they would come back out to trap the rest of the squirrels. Never did. I would call them every day and they would always say they were coming out that day. Nope. Never did. I tried to fix my squirrel problem myself. Suddenly, I was not up to their standards and they were washing their hands of me. Well my standard is, if you're going to say you're going to do a job (especially if you take money for it) you do it. It should never have gotten to the point where I felt I needed to do something myself.

The technician inspected my house for about 15 minutes. He looked up my attic stairs, couldn't see the area that the pests are located, and called it a day. I told him the scratches come mostly at night, so he made the assumption that it must be mice. He didn't actually confirm anything, identified some very obvious entry points, and offered to charge me another $100 to put out some rat poison. Nothing was mitigated. Like many here, I wish I would have seen the reviews prior to hiring them. I think that there is a reason that you can't leave a google review. My suggestion is to call a different pest company as they will come out for an initial inspection for free or a smaller fee...... Wanted to follow up. I called Critter control to voice my concerns . First, I want to say that the customer service was helpful. They understood my concerns and addressed them. They re-sent out an associate to review my house. The employee came out in a timely fashion (and on time), took the time to investigate, and identified some of the issues that I had in my original post. It was nice that they didn't just write me off. I wanted to add to the post because I believe in being complimentary and critical when appropriate. I updated my star rating to reflect my experience. My guess is that this company is more appropriate for larger animals like squirrels, racoons, etc.

EDIT: Interesting, after nearly a year the owner of the company ("Beau") finally responded when I called out his scam. Yes, I was a customer, invoice attached. I'll reiterate that the company DID NOT complete their job and I never once said the raccoon activity ceased. As explained below in the original review many calls were made, explaining that none of the raccoons were being trapped and asking for someone to relocate the trap. Each time, despite being promised that someone would come out and move the trap, my request was ignored over several months. The trap was taken, not because the raccoon activity stopped but because I asked for a refund, at which they sent someone over to take the trap. To anyone reading this, it will probably be obvious by the many negative reviews (on Yelp, on Google, on the BBB website) that this company should be avoided. 12/30/24 - We hired "Critter Ridder" in Louisville to catch/relocate raccoons that were getting into our attic. A technician immediately came out that evening and set up a trap with bait and a gps camera in the backyard for a fee of $697. He told me if no raccoons were trapped, he would move the trap elsewhere until there was no more activity. As weeks passed, the bait was eaten up but no raccoons were trapped, even though they were still active around our house. 1/31/25 - A month later I called Critter Ridder to let them know the bait was long gone and despite raccoon activity none had been trapped. The rep said someone would come out soon to move the trap and add more bait. A month passed and no one came to deal with the trap as promised. 3/3/25 - I called the office again and politely reiterated that there was no bait and that the trap/camera needed to be moved to an area with more raccoon traffic. I received the same promise, that they would send someone out immediately. Once again, no one showed up. 4/28/25 - Nearly two months had passed and again no one from the company showed up. By now, the trap had been without bait for 5 months and weeds had overtaken it, plus we still had lots of raccoon activity at the front of the house and on a tree in the backyard. I reached out to the office yet again and got the exact same spiel from the same rep. I told her they hadn't kept their side of the bargain (adding bait and moving the trap to a new spot) so I wanted a refund. I explained this with the utmost politeness and respect but she became curt with me and said someone would come by and remove the trap and a manager would be calling me about a refund. I never heard back... 5/6/25 - Someone came by and retrieved the trap at some point, but I NEVER heard from a manager. I called once again. The rep didn't apologize and said they were busy and she'd ask a manager to call me back. I asked if I could speak to someone there in the office, but she said she works remotely and doesn't have physical contact with anyone. Very robotically, she repeated the same thing and said a manager would be calling me soon. Since then, I have sent emails to the company address but have received no response. I also discovered an overwhelmingly negative viewpoint of the company on Yelp. There were multiple negative reviews that explained the exact same thing I was going through: Critter Ridder collected money, set up a trap and was never heard from again. As you'll see in the reviews, the owner of Critter Ridder responded to each of these negative reviews with very belittling responses and in some cases gaslighting the customers. Yet, the man is too cowardly to return a customer's call and explain why he won't issue a refund for reneging on the contract (they never once returned to add bait and move the trap). Last I checked, this company is still in operation and is still taking money from unsuspecting people. The local news station (WAVE 3) even did a report of this scam back in June of 2024, yet they are still operating. I don't expect I'll ever see the money they stole again, but this business needs to be investigated and shut down before it scams more people. Thank you for your time.
