The termite bait program is overpriced for the type of service the company provides. Terminix states that due to their "advanced chemical technology" there's no need for reapplication on a quarterly basis! If thats the case, I believe there should be a reduced cost on the monthly payments since they have drastically reduced the number of times their employees need to visit, to once a year! The company produces way less labor costs and makes way too much profit this way! In the past, companies with these types of business model schemes eventually fail due to the lack of customer service and primary focus on high yield earnings! Worst company around never show up for appointments then when they make an appointment nobody shows up. Then when you call they don't have a response and want to make another day for appointments. I have had enough unreliable dishonest overcharging I canceled my service for termite bait stations outside that's another story they come once a year to ck but never fill them. Scammers, Liars, cheaters!!! Terminix is one of the most dishonest companies out there. They don't do what they say they will, overcharge for subpar work, and leave you with no results or improvement. They do nothing to address the real problem. It feels like their only priority is taking your money, not actually solving the problem. They promise one thing, then either don't deliver or provide a cheap alternative which doesn't address the problem you called them for, while still charging you premium prices. I feel completely scammed. Their lack of integrity and false promises make it impossible to trust them. My pest problem quadrupled the year I contracted with them-- paid 2K for nothing. The following year I contracted a small local problem and my pest problem was fully resolved within 3 months. The local companied charged me $400- Terminex had charged me $2k and no improvement was seen for the entire year I used them I wouldn't recommend Terminix to anyone - they are liars and scammers. I paid $1500 for exclusion service to prevent mice from getting into my house. I explained that I traveled and was away for extended periods. After the "exclusion " I left for a few weeks. When I returned I realized that the exclusion process didn't exclude anything. What they really want to do is sell you a contract where they come periodically and place poison bait and mouse traps in and around the house. If they actually did prevent mice from getting in you don't need the "maintenance ". Very nasty to deal with as well. Don't waste your money. read more

Called the 800 number on a Friday to schedule service for the next day, Saturday. It was to be a one-time service for ants, scheduled between 1-3 pm. The next day, a consultant came by at 11:30 am for termite consultation which I did not request. The service provider never came by. When I called Terminix, they informed me that the service was scheduled for 1-5 pm from the local Terminix office. When no one showed up, I called back and was informed that the appt was rescheduled for Monday. When no one showed up, I called and the automated service informed me that the service was rescheduled to Tuesday. Cancelled the service all together. read more

Truly a scam corporation. No calls no shows. Claims of services rendered that weren't and it's is literally impossible to reach local branches. All calls go through non-affiliated call centers. When I finally got in touch with the regional manager, he saw fit to educate me. 1) The average employee lasts thirty days in a call center. 2) They don't know what they are talking about. 3) The only reason I got a call back to begin with, despite two no call no shows by the tech and countless requests for a call back, was because I stated they were committing fraud. The local number I was given for the Armonk Office's manager Martin Diaz continues totally unresponsive; however, after some more tries I got through to someone smart at the 800 number and she successfully arranged for a technician to come. The technician was great and I now have a way to work around Diaz and to get good service. I can't recommend Terminix corporately but the service is working diligently on our problem now that I know how to circumvent the higher ups. read more

Complete ripoff. Made the mistake of signing a contract that was supposed to cover me for a year. Every three months a guy shows up sprays the house and I get a charge for $150. I've tried canceling twice before, and they keep showing up. Today I'm trying to cancel a third time and I'm being told there's no record of the first two times I've called, so I have no reason to believe it will be canceled this time. My next email is to the BBB. The one time I did use their service for mice, a guy showed up and shoved old school traps around the house with no accounting for where they were. Despite no "small print" on their guarantee when we made a damage claim first they ghosted me for nearly 3 weeks then refused to stand behind it. I am writing about my experience while getting an estimate for treatment. I requested an estimate via email and got a phone call to set up an appointment within 30 minutes. The appointment was for the next day. Wow, great service, I thought. My kid had seen bugs under a rock in the yard that might be termites and so that was the first thing we showed the guy who came to evaluate our home. Well, lo and behold, termites! Our basement has a cinder block foundation that is mostly finished with paneling, the sill plate is not visible, and we are right next to a wooden area. The estimator then began one of the hardest sells I've ever experienced, I thought I was in a time-share "presentation." Luckily, I was calm and said up front that I was not going to sign up for anything today. He became increasingly frustrated. I was insistent on getting numbers in writing, and he begrudgingly did so, but not without continuing to harangue me to sign up now. The estimate he left me with was $1500 sign up with 1 year of service and $349 renewal for continuing protection. I was shocked to look up other Yelp reviews for Terminix and see that they all garnered 1-star reviews! I'm looking elsewhere for termite service. read more

These guys are crooks. The materials used as part of their pest control service contract clearly indicates that it targets termites and termite swarmers (along with a bunch of other pests). If the material doesn't work on a type of pest it should not indicate that's the pest it targets. Lay people like myself don't know all the different chemicals (nor should we). read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS! They are nothing but thieves. They demand payment up front and do not honor their own contracts. They supposedly guarantee their work on a 90 day contract but when the 90 days are up they want you to spend more money before they come back to fulfill the guarantee. They set appointments and never show up, nor do they even bother to call to say they aren't coming. The people at their main office offered me a whopping $25 credit but would not address my issues of the work not being performed. The district manager, a guy named Anthony Tobacco is unavailable & never responds to complaints and the lazy tech, Duane Bunyan is totally indifferent. This is what happened five years ago I asked for mail service apparently they put in the contract which I paid extra for termite service for five years I've been calling and asking to inspect it inside my house for termites I see no we don't want that part of the service not until the fifth year after paying for five years did somebody say oh you been paying for it you have to change your contract I went crazy I asked to speak to a boss on the 800 number nobody would respond I asked to cancel the service and my money back for October nobody respond to weeks later I get an angry manager that says you're doing nothing for me they were at my house every year checking the outside Of the house but not the inside where the wood is I said I've never asked for it we didn't want termites why did it take them five years for somebody to tell me that we are actually paying for it when I told him I didn't want it he was rude yelling at me I said I wanted my money back when I canceled in October he said no I said I canceled on the 18th he said somebody came on the 22nd I said if I canceled on the 18th why the heck would you send somebody on the 22nd they ripped me off for five years and people would not call me back no managers no nobody knew nothing and they were extremeRude and stealing my money good luck with them and make sure you look at your contract see if you're paying for just my service that they don't include termites read more

I have found Terminix literally useless at bug and rodent control. We called them for control many months ago, and signed a one year contract. It turned out that we were not home for the outside control, but the indoor spraying was completely careless and haphazard. Moreover, we had the same infestation weeks later as they were originally asked to prevent, and we asked that someone else do the spraying and control. Not only was the same person sent again, but the spraying indoors was similarly careless and haphazard. And the infestation continued. We again asked for control by another person, and again they sent the same person. We still have infestation. We will never use them again. read more

WORST experience! AWFUL! I made an apt in the morning, confirmed, heard from tech (Bernie) saying to be home by 4. Arrived home and he did nto respond to my call. Later he called saying case moved to Craig. Called main number 3x (no joke) to confirm arrival between 5-7. At 7 pm, no show. Called again, and was told "A whoopsie was made" and he was not coming. Would not transfer me to a supervisor, and by the way because it was 7pm, all other places were closed. I wonder why the three times I Called to confirm, I was mislead and never told he was not coming until 7pm when they were closing. Horrible customer service - from management to reps. A rep came to my house to service an ant issue. My husband was upstairs in the house and my 7 year old son came to the door. The rep came into my house, sprayed my kitchen and left the house, all without ever seeing or speaking to a homeowner! When management was called, all he did was defend and make excuses! Terminix did an exclusion service on my residence. It was costly, Sadly, we have had many mice come into the basement. We usually get 5 to 12 mice in a week. They have been called repeatedly and when they show up they replace the traps except the last time they said they had no more. So I wonder what type of exterminator does not have enough mouse/rat traps on hand? I ended up going to the Home Depot to buy my own. Last week I found 12 mice. I've had enough! I call Terminix and make an appointment for Saturday. They make an appointment for 11a.m. to 1 p.m. I called at 1:30 to ask where the technician might be. By the way when you call them you get a National Call Center, never the local office. The Call Center tried to call the Tech but he did not answer. They left a message for him to call me. At 3:30 now 2.5 hours late I call the Service Center. They call the technician who says he can't make it. Really? Why didn't anyone call me to tell me they were not going to make it today? Management is asleep and un-caring. So I spent the entire day waiting when they knew they had no intention of showing up. Great. Save your money and call a local exterminator with a local office who cares about the customers. This national chain is beyond terrible in my humble opinion. One Star is too high a rating. read more

I am a customer of Terminix since 2003 living in the Bronx.Due to drilling issues on one side of my property( pipes that are running across that side),a few of my stations are located in my neighbor's property.I always need to be at home in order to direct the technician to my neighbor's property.The head manager of the Armonk office is Mr. Anthony Tabacco, a very efficient,experienced Gentleman, who has solutions for any problem.I was very satisfied from the current technician Mr. Billups Roosevelt, a young ,courteous,diligent and well behaved guy with excellent manners and patience, who took his time to explain about the new stations & technology. He needed to drill deeper in the ground in order to install the new green station which are larger in size. I give him the highest rating possible ***** plus two thumbs up and wish him great success. With all due fairness, it would be more helpful if Terminix would keep up the time frame of the designated appointments.If they are scheduled to come in the early afternoon, they should not change the time and come in the morning instead, on a last minute notice. read more
