I ordered fried rice and teriyaki chicken bento. Everything is so yummy and strongly recommended. The chef is a Japanese and i can taste authentic Japanese food here. I will definitely come back this restaurant for my lunch and dinner!

I had Tanuki Cold Udon, something I never saw before at other places. It was amazing. Highly recommended especially in hot weather.

    #3 Chicken Katsu

Teriyaki Tei is such a great find. This cozy, family-run spot has a warm, welcoming vibe! The owners are incredibly friendly and clearly have a loyal group of regulars, which says a lot. The food is full of flavor and care: the Chicken Katsu was perfectly crispy with juicy, tender meat, the Combo Fried Rice had a great mix of beef, chicken, and shrimp with well-seasoned, fluffy rice, and the Chicken Teriyaki with the chef's special sauce was unforgettable. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything is served in a clean, comfortable setting. I'll definitely be back to try the noodle dishes next time!

    Menu

Excellent food at a great value. The owners are authentic and clearly take pride in serving Japanese home-style cuisine.

The store has sooo many things to look at and it seems to be tight for movement when there's a handful of people, but all that struggle is worth it since the yummy food makes up for it. I always make sure to grab something behind the glass to pick the cut of my choosing and the workers there are always giving out great recommendations. Can't go wrong with the toros, highly recommend chu toro and otoro! There's a few parking in the attached garage, and people are usually going in and out so I never had issues with parking.

The BEST grocery store sushi I've ever had, and I think it's due to how fresh everything is so the sushi rice doesn't have the chance to get cold in the fridge. I find that a lot of grocery store sushi is ruined by the cold rice even if everything else tastes good. They were constantly restocking even in the 10 minutes I was in the store, and people were grabbing all the new stuff as the worker was putting them out, so I could only try a few things. It's okay though because the things I did try were so good. California roll was insane, so huge and stuffed with ingredients, was definitely my favorite. The spicy scallop maki also was pretty spicy! The seaweed salad was good, and I appreciated that they had a burdock root side which is pretty hard to find! Perfectly crunchy and had a slight sweetness to it, would recommend if you're trying to find something new. I will so be back here if I'm ever in need of a quick lunch or bite for a picnic or something. Wish we had something this high quality for the price in OC!

It was busy inside but still got seated without waiting. Insane quality of fish not one single item I ordered had an off taste. The fast that my spicy mayo and ponzu was full when I left goes to show how insanely well they prepared the food sauce wise. Overall great place I will be back to try more things for sure. All this food double the salmon roe and scallop sushi because it was that good I had to go for round 2 but all this for 80$ was insaneeeee!!!!! And of course leave tip lol. For sure coming back!

We had an rsvp but wasn't busy when we arrived. Was sat immediately and served water. They have a pretty extensive menu of most things you'd find at a sushi cut roll spot. We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!

After finding parking in the residential area, we walked to the restaurant and got seated right away. Note for parking: there is a lot available for all the restaurants in the complex ($10/car) but it may be difficult to find parking here during peak meal times. If you're willing to walk a bit, park up the street near the apartments. We chose to seat at the bar and had a wonderful experience talking to our sushi chef and Tiger, the manager. We were told that our sushi chef was one of the best chefs from their Japan branches, and that was evident in all of the sushi we ordered. Every cut of fish was consistently thin and crafted with expertise. We ordered quite a spread (spicy tuna crispy rice, albacore with crispy onion, eel nigiri, sweet shrimp nigiri, agedashi tofu, wild cod nigiri, etc.), and every dish was on point. The fish quality is unlike anything I've ever had before. In fact, Tiger told us the tuna is brought in from Japan. After ordering from our iPad, we started asking our chef and Tiger what their favorite dishes were, leading us to try all these different, off the menu customizations. Overall, such a fun dining experience and really solid sushi. We will absolutely be back.

Salty but lacks a depth of flavor. - The truffle sushi roll had a prominent truffle flavor (which I enjoyed, but may not be for everyone). Crunch spider roll was a favorite; just a solid classic with soft shell crab (love that an extra piece of crab is included on top of the roll). The fried onions on top of the Tokyo roll were crispy and sweet. Uni was fresh and delicious! I had uni only one time before and had a bad experience (it was incredibly fishy, and now I realize, not fresh). So I was apprehensive at first but I'm glad I gave it a chance because this uni was buttery, smooth, and briny in all the right ways. - Matcha tea was okay, medium profile matcha flavor. Not bad for the value though. Clean and refreshing. -Might be a small thing to point out, but I like how they include lemon slices automatically in the water. I also like the texture of the ice (evenly crushed and almost like a slush). Service 3.5/5 Not too long a wait for the food. Polite and professional waiters. Aesthetic 4.5/5 Traditional izakaya vibe with a relaxed, warm atmosphere. Low lighting inside. Modern layout with traditional Japanese decor.

I could have drank the broth by itself! The ramen was wavy and thin and very slurpable. I wish it was slightly more chewy, but it was still good. The chashu pork was tender and juicy. Given half of the seasoned egg, which was soft and jammy. Perfect! Too bad they gave only half of it. Bamboo shoots and scallion were added as well Really enjoyed this ramen and would order it again! BLACK SESAME CREME BRULEE This was good, but the serving bowl was shallow and the portion was small. Strong black sesame flavor and the brulee top was crunchy with a lovely caramelized sugar, as expected. The one disappointment was that it was not custard that was served, but sesame cream. It was as though they added black sesame paste and whipped cream together. Then added the bruleed top. CUSTOMER SERVICE I was there for lunch on Monday. It wasn't busy nor crowded either. Only one server working. Everyone was already seated and eating. Since I was the only one that has not been served yet, the service was quick. Server was straight to the point too. She did check back during my meal, which was good. Given my experience, I would return to try other items on the menu. But most likely return to order their Shoyu Ramen again. PARKING It is a medium-sized parking lot that is shared with other businesses. Parking is free. They had a valet sign at the front, but there was no valet available during the day. I didn't have trouble finding parking, but I got lucky, as it was packed by the time I got there. There were maybe 1-2 other spots available, but they filled up quickly.

Also appreciated that they were upfront, since we had a party of 6, they let us know 20% gratuity would be included in the bill. No surprises. Overall: solid ramen, good service, small but cozy.

Tucked away on 6th Street, this spot feels like a cozy, sophisticated secret that opens up into a world of incredible flavors and top-tier hospitality. Here is why it's my new favorite spot in K-Town: The Soba is Mandatory: They are famous for their Handmade Soba, and for good reason. The texture is perfect--firm with a clean, nutty finish. Whether you get it cold with a dipping sauce or in a warm broth, you can taste the craft in every bite. Incredible Small Plates: The menu is designed for sharing, and every "bite" is a hit. The Tuna Carpaccio is incredibly fresh, and the Agedashi Tofu has that perfect delicate crunch while remaining silken on the inside. The "Mi Young" Hospitality: The service here is what really sets it apart. The staff is warm, attentive, and they make you feel like a regular on your very first visit. They are excellent at suggesting sake pairings that complement the specific dishes you order. Atmosphere: The vibe is "elevated cozy." It has beautiful wood accents, dim lighting, and a refined yet relaxed energy. It's the perfect escape from the hectic pace of the city--ideal for an intimate date night or a deep catch-up with close friends. The Highballs: Their drink game is on point. The highballs are crisp, perfectly carbonated, and serve as the ultimate palate cleanser between savory plates. Pro Tip: This is a smaller, intimate space and it fills up fast with locals who know what's up. Definitely try to grab a reservation or head there early to secure a spot! Izakaya Mi Young is a beautiful addition to the neighborhood. It's soulful, delicious, and executed with a level of care that is hard to find.
