It's 8 pieces and after 6 I'm already full. Tempura was nothing special. Came with 4 pieces of shrimp tempura and one piece of okra tempura and miso soup. The food isn't amazing but it's not bad! Definitely satisfies my futo maki craving. I think it's a great place for big groups. It's not the cheapest Japanese restaurant maybe it's better even just go to a buffet like Sambokujin. But it's location is easy to get to and I'm satisfied after the meal. I'll be back and hopefully I part ways with my futo maki and get a different dish. :)

Castor, it's across the 24-hour Family Mart and is near Afters Espresso and Dessert. Parking is a little bit difficult. It seems like they don't have the same valet service as the Makati branches. Compared to the other branches, this new one is definitely more brightly lit and spacious. They still have the bar seating and booth seating on the first floor. Then there are more booths on the second floor, along with some private rooms for groups. If you're having a hard time choosing your order, the bento boxes offer great value for money and allow you to try a handful of dishes. I'm always a fan of their shrimp tempura, fish tempura, their soba and the spicy tuna maki. I did notice, however, that the spicy tuna maki in this branch seems to be smaller in size than the Makati branches. In any case, it's still really good stuff. This branch also offers the grilled items that you can grill at your table. I personally like the US Karubi and US Rosu. The restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday night so make reservations or prepare to wait in line. It's worth it though!

Upon checking the menu, the price points is almost the same and even the plating shares the same look. I confirmed that the two is part of i Foods Group including Ichiba Japanese Market in Resortsworld. The setting is really esteemed. There are salient points on food. The takoyaki is overcooked, ramen is ordinarily prepared, and the spicy salmon maki is not at all spicy. There is nothing special on the broth of the ramen soup. The price points can be reasonable though. The commendable ones are Tempura, fresh salmon sashimi and yakitori. Service is also efficient. As a mother's day treat, they serve a free dessert for customers that reaches Php1500 food orders.

Ambience and Experience Our good friend Diane invited us to…read moretry the Kamameshi Rice at this restaurant where her brother works as a chef. Of course, this got our entire group pretty excited and I'd go for treats anytime if I can! It was great that they already had a table ready for us when we arrived. :) Wide spaces, seat options, and bright lights made the place look really exciting. Their restroom had an amusing sink knob located at the extreme lower right, away from the sink. California Roll This is an easy default for any Japanese roll to try. Theirs was good, refreshing in the mouth, simple, and tasty! Salmon Sashimi This tasted slightly different from what we usually eat at other Japanese restaurants but it was as good as always. With just the right amount of soy sauce and wasabi, I was all set. Takoyaki This was nearly a tie-breaker for first place in my book. It was SUPER GOOD! Texture and filling were just amazing! Tori Teri Kamameshi It's basically teriyaki chicken on kettle rice. This restaurant taught me that there is actually a name for the burnt rice at the bottom, and it's called "Okoge." I've had lots of good burnt rice experiences elsewhere (not only Japanese) but I'm not sure if the reference would still be the same since they weren't kamameshi. Tori Teri was pretty good with tender chicken and flavorful sauce. It can get addicting! Yakitori Everything essentially came smothered with teriyaki sauce. We tried the Baby Octopus, which was slightly chewy and very similar to eating squid. Quail Eggs were, well, eggs! I can't say much about it. Eggs! Chicken Liver was my favorite for the texture and flavor. I'll always try Chicken Liver if the restaurant has yakitori. Service Overall experience was good since we arrived. Lester tried to convince Diane that the Baby Octopus, which she resisted to try, was "kyut kyut." :p Big thanks to her bro Chef Von and the restaurant's other staffers for good food and service! Prices are VAT-inclusive and expect service charge.

I spend so much time in this area that I frequently pass this restaurant and I was always curious…read moreas to why it was located in such an obscure location. It isn't usually where you'd expect to find a traditional Japanese restaurant which makes you question the quality of the food they offer. One night, I decided to give them a shot and I was so not disappointed. Yutaka Izakaya actually has a very intimate setup. The chef hails from Japan and he has brought with him the simple and authentic flavor of our usual favorites like the different kinds of sushis and makis. Their tempura is also topnotch, bathed with the right amount of batter, making it light and delightfully crunchy. I would recommend their sukiyaki don which is pretty much a bowl of your fave hearty sukiyaki poured over rice and topped off with a raw egg. If you're in the mood for some Japanese food in the Q.C.-San Juan area, this place is a definite must-try!

How crazy is that? I also like their Tempura with rice. For three pieces and a bowl of rice, it was only Php 186! Lastly, I tried another sushi dish which was basically rice topped with lots of salmon sashimi bits. This was good and cheaper than an entire serving of salmon sashimi (which was too much for one person anyway) so I opted for it instead. The restaurant is very simple, a hole in the wall type. But they do have good and affordable food. The choices aren't that crazy or out of this world, but are rather simple, yummy, Japanese food. There's a lot of parking space outside but it can get pretty dark at night because of the lack of proper lighting so be vigilant when getting in and out of your car.

Food was great. I have nothing to complain about the variety of food we were able to sample: sashimi, curry, tempura, etc. I enjoyed their tofu steak, asparagus mayo spaghetti, and asparagus rolls wrapped with bacon. Service we got was very quick and efficient. You may need to consider parking at the place. Slots may run out and it can be a little too tight in some places. You know the feeling when you crave for Japanese food and you just really want to be satisfied and fulfilled with your meal? That is usually what I get from eating at Kimono Ken. My favorites would have to be their Beef Tepenyaki, Epi Tempura and Japanese Fried Rice. These three staples would definitely satisfy my Japanese craving. Unfortunately, Japanese food does not come cheap. So when I'm low on cash, I end up ordering their Chicken Katsudon which is equally satisfying. Make sure to ask for an extra serving of their special sauce to make sure you get all your rice soaked in that yummy sauce.

Brought to us by the same peeps who brought Vikings, the place exudes elegance -- place was well-lit and well maintained. It's spacious area, luxury furnitures and over-all interior design will surely make one feel comfortable and pleased with his/her entire Four Seasons experience. Let's talk about the food now. There's about 3-6 selections for the broth -- Satay, Sinigang, Chicken broth and I forgot about the others. Raw hotpot items can be found in big chillers to ensure maximum freshness. Wide selection of poultry items, red meat, seafood and hotpot balls were available. What's shabu shabu without it's sauce, right? But don't fret, Four Seasons also have a corner for all kinds of condiments you might need. Variety of Japanese sushis, makis, tempuras and sashimis will surely satisfy your Japanese cravings. Seafood counter were also available and you can request for a grilled dish option. You can also make a pasta dish with your choice of toppings/ingredients and they will gladly cook it for you. Selections of vegetable salads and variety of dressings were also available. I was quite disappointed with their variety of cheese and cold cuts -- there ain't too many. Chinese food were on the other side together with Filipino dishes and American. Leg lamb and Beef Chuck Eye were under Carving station. There were heaps of variety for beverages -- tea, coffee, infused water, fruit lemonades, fresh guyabano (dinner), fruit flavored iced teas, draft beer and sodas. Dessert were in the middle part of a dining area section and you won't get to ignore. They serve halo-halo, yogurt with toppings, about 8 different flavors of ice cream, crepe, Filipino desserts like biko and kakanin, jelly-based desserts, mini cakes, chocolate and white chocolate fountain fondue. Every staff mans a station and they were quick enough to refill the dishes. And when I say quick, you won't even see it empty. Lucky to have been here on a Friday Dinner and Tuesday Lunch respectively and I can say there ain't any noticeable changes other than they don't serve the Chang beer (imported beer in-can) during lunch time. I'm not sure, too, if they serve crabs during lunch buffet. One thing I would like to commend was the attentiveness of their staff. The staff assigned to us (in both dinner and lunch) was very attentive and was quick to oblige with all our requests. Plus, the Manager was also very hands-on, made sure that you get the best possible dining experience there is. Would love to be here again! :) Time of Visit: Dec 4 (dinner), Dec 8 (lunch) Expenses: Dinner - roughly P13k for 12 pax (inclusive of 5% charge) Lunch - P1400 for 2 pax
