I genuinely love my doctor and have had a good experience with her, which makes the interactions with the front desk even more disappointing. I recently called to inquire about a service, and as soon as the receptionist answered, she immediately put me on hold without explaining why. When I was eventually able to speak with her and started giving her my availability for an appointment, I felt that she was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. She repeatedly insisted that she was just trying to get me scheduled as quickly as possible, but I had already explained that I have limited availability. She then told me, "You're making it hard because you have limited availability." I found that comment extremely unprofessional and frustrating. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated experience. During a previous appointment, the same receptionist told me that I was not a patient there, despite the fact that I have been going to this office for years. That interaction was extremely upsetting and made me feel like my history as a patient was being disregarded. I understand that receptionists deal with a lot of patients and scheduling can be difficult, but there is still a way to communicate respectfully and professionally. I really like my doctor and would like to continue seeing her, but the repeated negative experiences with the front desk have made me seriously reconsider my experience with the practice as a whole.

On top of that, my recent periods were unusually painful, so I was even more worried. But the doctor was incredibly thorough and listened carefully to all of my symptoms. She even showed me diagrams of the uterus and explained everything step by step, which made me feel so reassured. During the transvaginal ultrasound, she examined everything in great detail and showed me the screen while explaining what I was seeing. She answered every question I had, and I felt truly cared for throughout the entire process. All the staff members were very kind as well. I'm extremely satisfied with my experience here and would highly recommend this clinic to others.

The other women said that a morning appointment has a wait of at least half an hour for a total of two hours before you can go home but no food or drink is allowed in the waiting room. This is the worst Dr.'s visit I have ever experenced. I moved here, to Whittier, CA from PA and she…read moreis the 1st Dr. I have seen since I was here. The Dr.'s appt. went fine, but she was behind in appt's so it was a very rushed appt. She prescribed me a med which she stated was "NOT an inexpensive medicine". I went immediately to the Pharmacy with the written prescription she gave me, picked it up, and paid for it. I then read the insert WITH the med and came to realize that Dr.(?) Kay Wood prescribed a medication that could make an irregular heartbeat worse. WHICH I HAVE! I immediately called Walgreen's on Greenleaf in Whittier, CA & they told me it could be bad, but to call my Dr. to make sure. I called Dr. Wood's office & they called me back & said they talked to the doctor & they called me in ANOTHER prescription. I said fine, but what about the OTHER one that I already picked up & cost me $91.39 ! They said, they didn't know if Walgreen's would refund me my money or not. I THEN called Walgreen's where the rude Pharmacy manager informed me, in a NOT so convincing voice, that "they're not supposed to" refund money because they cannot "really" put the medicines back on the shelf and resell them. I then called the Dr.'s office and told them the story & they again told me they called something else in and to go get that and take it. I then informed then I could not AFFORD another one, until someone refunded my $91.39 for the one I can not even TAKE! I asked them to have the Doctor call me and that was yesterday. I told her, also, that I would have to wait for a call back from the Dr. before I could take any meds, that I need! I am still on no medicines for my ailment & they have YET to call me back! So, basically, I am going to have to eat that $91.39, & borrow money to now get the SECOND prescription they called in (hoping to God this one is right and safe for me to take!). If I would have taken the 1st one, I could be in the hospital or worse! Scary!
