When we met I was at my heaviest after dealing with a life-threatening illness and early menopause. I had no energy and felt horrible about the condition of my body. She NEVER made me feel as if I couldn't accomplish my fitness and nutrition goals- always inquiring how I was doing, supporting me and being a task master when she thought it was necessary..which I needed. lol. It turns out after she heard me complain about the constant problem of gas and painful bloating which I had been struggling with for many years, she suggested I was dealing with a food allergy. I never even considered this before and none of my doctors had suggested it either. I THOUGHT I had been eating healthy, multi grain this, whole wheat that...she suggested I may have a problem with gluten. I had no idea what this meant but after her guidance and educating myself, I can say she was right on the money! I now live a gluten-free life and my body is MUCH happier for it. I love her creativity in the kitchen...her recipes inspire me and have helped me learn to love cooking way more than I ever thought possible. I am more creative myself now and am loving the results. I am in the best shape of my adult life now and nearly at my fitness goals and Chae can take credit for a good deal of it. Thank you Chae!

    Just a caveat about the 4 star rating--it could easily be a 5 star rating. I've worked with Chae…read moreon a limited basis due to my own scheduling and funding availability, and she is one of the only nutritionists I've worked with personally, so I am basing this review on that experience. My favorite aspects of Chae as a nutritionist on an individual level is that she is personable, friendly, warm, shows a lot of interest in your health and eating habits, and her curious nature makes for an inviting and non-judgmental work relationship as she helps you figure out your motivations and goals toward eating better. I have a geeky nature and this boded well with Chae as she was more than happy to share books as well as referring me to films and websites to further my own education and understanding of the complex web of food that, at first, seems to be catered to our every desire and need, but soon learned the self serving and detrimental aspects of the food industry. To this end, Chae is very knowledgeable about nutrition and is always learning more and more about this aspect of her work as well as innovating ways to make food taste better with creative and easy to follow recipes and it allowed me to feel confident in the kitchen as I was not raised with a lot of cooking knowledge. Overall, I am left with a sense of agency with my newfound knowledge, a support person I could call on and rely on for one-on-one tracking and feedback, and, most importantly, someone who is such an advocate for your health and well being that she will be honest and direct with you about your thinking, food choices, and questions. Lastly, even when I did "slip" she was supportive unconditionally and seems to understand very well how much patience and compassion can do to support each person's change in eating habits, relationship to food, knowledge of food choices and options, and how difficult it can be to change the habits that are tied to our emotions, mental states, body, and spirit. I wholeheartedly recommend Chae as a nutritionist!!!

We have worked though my pain management and have transitioned in to pain prevention and nutrient replacement. I think a lot of my pain was coming from constant fatigue and lack of vitamin my body needed. I can really tell the difference I am not in a fog of exhaustion any more and I feel more functional. Over the course of our time together, Tammy helped me to shift the way I thought about food, promoting simple but effective steps to take after each phone call together. She listened to my concerns and prior frustrations from working with apps and coaches in the past and never once nudged any boundaries I set down. There was no such thing as a stupid question and Tammy made sure I had all the resources, answers, links, and videos I needed to be successful in forming better habits. I really appreciated that she worked with what was functional and accessible for me--on a budget, without a car, limited freezer space, etc. Instead of reminding me to scoop out my morning bagel like prior coaches have, Tammy asked each call what worked for me, what didn't, and what helped me to feel satisfied at each meal. Then we'd find one thing to improve--adding more color to each meal or adding a "sprinkle" like sunflower seeds or olive oil to help a meal reach its full nutritional potential. I also never felt like I was on my own in anything Tammy suggested I try. Gotta make my own broth this week to cook with? Here are great places to get bones, here is a recipe to do it, here are instructions for your instantpot, etc. Want to start incorporating more fish into my diet? Here are 3 brands for tinned fish, a local catch market for seasonal choices, and recipes. I was able to develop sustainable, long-lasting healthy habits by working with Tammy and I find myself continuing to grow with her guidance even though our sessions together are over. After absolutely refusing to put chia seeds in anything for our 15 weeks together, the other day I ate them willingly because I thought "Tammy said these are good for me and I haven't had them yet." This was the shift I was looking for and I'm so thankful for Tammy's warmth, knowledge, and support. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat.

Second, you have to download an app to communicate with her Third, be prepared to spend ALOT of time taking pictures of the food you eat Fourth, She is expensive ($1500!) . Has an air-tight policy for getting paid monthly. So don't even think about skipping or changing payment terms. (Please note that I am not saying businesses shouldn't be paid and have clear policies, but tere was something about the focus which was "unsettling" to me.) Fifth, A lot of her advice was also referenced in the book she wrotereplicated (which comes with the $1500 when you sign-up with her!). After I got the book and read it, I then wondered why was I paying $1,500 ? I think you have to sign a contract. SO BE THOUGHTFUL BEFORE SIGNING IT !!!!!! Overall I was uninspired and never warmed to her or the process. In the end, I recommend that anyone selecting this type of service be fully committed. And if any of the points I have raised, resonant with you - think whether the benefits outweigh the price tag for them. BTW: Her book is great. Hence the three stars as it encapulates a lot of solid information.
