Okay so my boyfriend surprised me with VIP tickets to Tequila Town and I just need to say, he understood the assignment. This pop up is basically everything I love crammed into one place. I'm a museum girlie, I love interactive experiences, and we both love tequila. So yeah, this was basically made for us. The whole vibe was really fun and everyone working there was genuinely warm and welcoming, which always makes a difference. The tequila tastings were great, everything we tried was really good, and with the VIP tickets we got an extra two tastings plus 20% off cocktails which felt very fancy and very smart of us. Now, keeping it honest because that's what we do here. The price point is a little steep when you factor in that the tastings are, well, tastings. They are not shots. They are not even close to shots. So if you go in expecting full pours you will be humbled quickly. I think throwing in two cocktails instead of just the one welcome drink would make the value feel a lot better and I'm putting that out into the universe for whoever is in charge of these decisions. But overall? Really fun date night, great energy, great tequila, great company. If you and your person love tequila and you want to do something a little different than just sitting at a bar, this is totally worth it. Just maybe pregame a little. I'm joking. The city is buzzing about Tequila Town and after visiting Saturday with my cousins I can see why. Located in Hialeah next to Factory Town - this is an immersive experience that allows you to enjoy tequila, and also learn about the history of the spirit and how it's made. My cousin got us VIP tickets - which I highly recommend (more on that later). You are welcomed with a marg, then transported to tequila by train, and learn about the distilling process and the history of the Cuervo Family. There are tastings and drinks included, and you can purchase drinks along the way too. VIP gets you 20% off any purchases that day. Without giving the whole thing away, if you book a ticket to tequila town, expect to learn, enjoy and of course- drink tequila. My suggestion is to get the VIP not only for the discount, but for the special room that you can only experience if you have VIP. You can try really high quality reserva tequila, and the room is absolutely beautiful. It was my favorite part of our experience. The whole thing from start to finish takes about 2.5 hours, but if you want to hang after there is food, bars, and a really cute mercado. For the ladies - you stand a majority of the time, so if you're going to do heels make sure they are your comfy ones. It's also indoor/outdoor so make sure you dress according to the weather. I saw people comment about parking. They have valet - but I definitely would suggest a ride share as you are spending 2+ hours drinking tequila and who wants to drive after that? This is a great thing to do with a group of friends, on a date, for a celebration, or just to drink tequila. I loved it and was super impressed with the build out and attention to detail the team put into creating this experience. I have been hearing so much of this place on social media that I felt like I had to try it. When I saw online that the tickets kept selling out, I thought oh this must be the place to be. When I arrived, I liked that they offered valet parking, it makes parking easy. The box office and going inside was very simple. You are being welcome with a delicious cocktail. Then you board this train and go into different rooms to try 4 other tequila. In one of the rooms, you're also given agua fresca and in another room chips with salsa and guacamole. The attention to detail in each room was amazing. The staff was also great, offering to take pictures and talking to us. I absolutely loved it. You're also given a bit of tequila knowledge but at times it was hard to hear, so I was not able to capture it all. At the end, you end up at the Mercado, where you can either purchase more drinks and food. Tacos and Tattoos were there. I was excited to see them until I saw their limited menu. The only option was 3 tacos of either ground beef, jerk chicken or mushroom or quesadilla. I tried tacos of each flavor and they were okay. I only truly enjoyed the mushroom taco. There is also live music that people would dance to. The people playing the live music were amazing and the vibe was great. Overall, I thought it was overpriced for what you got. I am very tempted to put 4 stars for this event. Not because it wasn't awesome. But because I do not like the parking situation and it was not cold enough in the facility. It got pretty warm because there were a lot of participants. Even worse, they only have valet parking. I will not valet park unless I really have to for something very important. I literally drove around for twenty minutes trying to find street parking. They all said tow away zone. I started to go the direction of leaving despite having VIP tickets. That is how adamant I was to not valet park. But my friend said to let her go ask about the tow away zone. She was assured we would not be towed from the front desk. And we were not. But it is a very bad system they have going on. Ok, enough of that. This event was so fun. It was something memorable. I loved learning all about the tequila and the enthusiasm of the staff was amazing. They truly cared about our experience. The different areas were just so interesting. The tequila were good overall. There were a couple drinks I didn't like and could not drink, which is unusual for me. I am not super picky about alcohol. Jackie, Jacob and Mikey were such fun and kind bartenders. With VIP tickets, we received two small bottles of tequila to take home. We also each got three tacos included. The tacos were good enough. I really loved the true authentic feel of Mexico at this event. It wasn't rushed and spaced just right. I highly recommend coming to this if you even like tequila a little bit. This place is amazing. Visiting Miami and had the opportunity to check out tequila town. From the moment you walk through the door, you are transported to old Mexico. The decor feels authentic and is extremely well done. The history of tequila and the Mexican family, who made it a world famous spirit was on full display.. You're transported by a simulated train ride into the heart of Mexican tequila making country. . in addition, the staff that created the characters were enthusiastic and stayed in role to make you feel you were part of the action. Did the VIP ticket and was rewarded with an extra room in the experience that was the Jewel as you became part of the family. When in Miami, you have to try this. As someone who produces events for a living, I don't impress easily. But Tequila Town? They've created something truly special in Hialeah. (my hometown) I've actually had the privilege of visiting three times -- first during the build-out (yes, I was that curious), then at the media preview for the limited experience, and most recently for the full tour. Watching this concept go from construction to a fully immersive world has been one of the coolest things I've witnessed. And the full experience? Worth every second. My husband doesn't drink. Not a drop. And even HE left raving about it during the media tour and immediately wanted to come back to celebrate his brother's birthday. That says everything. For a venue that had been open less than a month, things ran remarkably smoothly. I'm meticulous -- professionally and personally -- and I was genuinely impressed by the thought and detail poured into each room. The staff stayed in character throughout, were knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. Bonus points: they sent a heads-up message before our visit about road closures nearby and strongly encourage using a car service. That kind of communication is rare and so appreciated! As a self-proclaimed tequila snob, I went in skeptical about the tastings. I fully expected "tourist quality." I was completely wrong. The quality exceeded my expectations and then some. The cinnamon espresso martini? Absolutely phenomenal. The Spicy Paloma? Delicious. Having a tour guide walk you through each room elevated the whole experience -- it felt personal, not rushed. And they have food trucks to sober you up from all the tequila-- Tacos & Tattoos -- do NOT skip it. The chicken quesadillas were incredible. I even asked for roasted pineapples on mine (I know, I know) and the attendant happily made it happen. It was the perfect touch. My travel companions devoured the tacos and couldn't stop talking about the flavor. VIP is a non-negotiable. I'm already planning my birthday dinner there. If you're on the fence -- don't be. I'll be honest, I walked in skeptical...I'm a agave nerd... have been for years... had to go see but was side-eyeing anything that smells remotely like "experiential...I've developed a bit of armor over the years... . An immersive experience about agave? In Hialeah? Sure.... Let's see... And yet. What I found was not a gimmick. Not a neon-lit margarita playground. Not a watered-down "fiesta" moment.. . It was intentional... From the second you step inside, you realize this isn't about tequila as a party trick - it's about agave as lineage. As labor. As land. The storytelling doesn't shout at you. It's gentle. The way scenes unfold feels closer to Sleep No More than any tasting room I've ever walked through - layered, cinematic, deeply immersive with the perfect amount of self awareness and realization and humor...but notcorny. The drinks were Balanced. No sugar bombs hiding mediocre tin shakes. You can tell someone behind the bar actually cares about what's in the glass - about varietals, about proof, about texture. The cocktails respect the spirit instead of masking it. That alone earned my attention. But what really floored me was the restraint No tourist kitsch, no celebrity brands Just craftsmanship. Cultural depth. Design that feels museum-level but still warm. Every room has a point of view. Every detail feels considered. It honors Mexican heritage without reducing it to aesthetic. It's a diamond in the rough -- and I mean that as the highest compliment. Because when you find something this polished, this thoughtful, in a place you'd least expect it? That's magic.
