Since its such a popular place, most thrifted items (women's clothes specifically) are heavily picked through. I found some really good gems in men's clothes and crystal china sets too! It is a charity thrift shop run by volunteers - the best kind! Not sure what this building was beforehand, but it consists of many small rooms, and they are setup with different items and themes. This makes the place fun to explore. There is a men's room, a children's room, a kitchen room, a book and records room, etc. Some notable sections: a Christmas section, a room of mostly crystal (along with a collection of wedding bells that ring), and a religious/(Catholic?) section. Some furniture have labeled drawers where inside are treasures or additional items. I found a few scarves to take home with me. Went back to pick it up and it was a completely different cabinet and color- something that you would buy at Hobby Lobby. When I spoke to the owner - she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Said she would order another one- I said at this point I didn't want the cabinet- as I drove 2 hours to pick it up. She said that she was ordering it anyway. I said that I would go to my credit card company to help resolve the issue. She texted and said if I did, I wouldn't get the cabinet or my money- that she had done this before and always won. When I disputed the charge- she lied and told the credit card company that I received the cabinet. I have spent thousands of dollars in her store over the last 5 years and will never shop there again and I tell everyone I know to steer clear. A lot of the clothing designs feature the Jupiter Lighthouse, sea turtles, boats, surfboards, anchors, and mermaids. Jupiter Vintage sells men's and women's shirts, hats, candles, canvas art, tumblers, towels, bags, sunglasses, bracelets, and Christmas tree ornaments. I love the beachy vibe of the store with it's colorful tropical murals and surfboards. While I shopped I had a nice time chatting with the gentleman who was helping me and who is also a Jersey transplant. I love the designs and ended up purchasing a shirt for a gift. They are definitely not the tacky T shirts you see at the beach souvenir shops. You can tell the quality as soon as you feel the shirt, it is so soft. Short sleeved shirts are around $30. Unfortunately they were sold out of the shirt in my size that I wanted but I am planning on stopping in the next time I'm in town. Pleeez. Are you that desperate for cash that you didn't notice that it was a man's shirt???

If you make it past the cranky owner, and he agrees to take your items, expect an opaque process, no written receipts or copies of your agreement, and radio silence until you proactively reach out. Oh, and have your expectations of any money coming your way very low. You'll get 40% of whatever arbitrary price they put on your items, but of course this assumes they actually sell for the price that split was made. If your items don't sell, make sure to retrieve them prior to the mystery date that only exists on the shop's paperwork, or they'll be donated. All in all a great little store to shop in, but the owner and his approach kind of kill it.

The proceeds from all sales directly benefit the Mission and Ministry of Church of the Good Shepherd. They are a not-for-profit, so they do not charge sales tax. Pennies for Heaven is always having a sale. On the day I visited red tags were 50 percent off, red/yellow tags were 50 percent off, and blue tags were $1.00. The store is neatly organized and has interesting items at great prices. They accept donations of gently used items during our regular store hours. Furniture pickup is by appointment only.

She still managed to communicate to me that they were having a 50 percent off sale on furniture and clothes were buy one get one free. They had a small selection of furniture, home goods, toys, art, small appliances, books, clothing, and accessories. It is tight in here but it is worth the time to really look around. You may find a treasure or two among the fairly priced items. Instead of adding to the landfills consider shopping and donating here. You can save money and give new life to gently used items.
