I just happened to be in Brownfield visiting my brother when I noticed a couple of state troopers entering this place. So, I thought I would give it a try. The staff were friendly, amazing and very sociable. Not to mention the food was great! I had the three chicken enchiladas plate, and it was fantastic. Food is good and the restaurant is clean. Very casual and often busy. The gentleman that is always there is friendly and greets with a smile. They do have a lady who serves who never acknowledges me when I walk in. I have stood at the counter waiting to place an order to go for more than 10 minutes while she ignores me. She is not friendly at all. I would not mind waiting if she would say "Hi, be with you in a minute". Sometimes you're just busy. But no acknowledgment at all is unacceptable. I asked for chips and salsa and she literally rolled her eyes at me. If you can get past that, it's worth a stop. read more

I waited a month to write this review. To see if I still felt the same as the day it happened. Watch out for this place. The fajita salad listed on the menu for $8 was the size of a side salad at any regular restaurant. Oh, and when you go to pay the bill for that $8 (side) salad, it will be over $15 dollars with a drink. I had to ask the lady at the register if she was sure she was looking at my lunch bill. Sadly,she said it WAS my bill. Rather than argue, because I have a little money, I paid the bill. Honestly, They should have brought that salad out wearing a ski mask and holding a gun, because it was actually a robbery..That will be the last money of mine they'll have the chance to get their hands on. read more

The hot sauce even though I had to pay for it with chips was really good and it was just one time charge. My corn tortillas that I had with the barbacoa plate were the best I have ever had anywhere! Thin but didn't tear apart with amazing flavor. The barbacoa was not in the least bit greasy which is rare. Rice was very good no peas or corn added. I really dislike veggies in my rice! So that being said let's talk beans which I generally leave alone, not this time I ate em up! Actually I spread them on my corn tortillas then added the bbq. Ok so why the 3 stars? No fountain drinks and this horrible sewer smell that met you at the door! It didn't go away either. I'm hoping the next time I drop in that will be gone! read more

What a nice find in Brownfield Texas! San Antonio quality Tex-mex on the way to Ruidoso. Had the combo (2 beef enchiladas, beef taco and my favorite: a bean and cheese chalupa- all plates under $7.95. The homemade salsa is excellent as well. Very friendly place. read more

Passing through town, We found this authentic Mexican restaurant with friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere. I ordered Migas, made to order with onion, tomatoes & fresh jalapeños with homemade tortillas, crispy hash browns and beans. I took one bite of the refried beans and it took me back to a little girl watching my great abuelita making tortillas and cooking. The beans tasted exactly like hers, amazing!! My childhood memories came flooding with every bite!! I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back! I may just have to bring my abuela next time! Found this hidden treasure passing through Brownfield heading to Carlsbad from Lubbock. If you need good food, are in the area, or want to take a small road trip, this place is worth the drive!! It's hard to find great Mexican food in the panhandle of Texas, and I am so excited to find a GEM. What to order? The chorizo!! The owner said it was a homemade receipe from his grandfather. I knew it was something special, I took one bite and moved my carne guisada over. I'm not sure I've had better chorizo ever. That being said, the barbacoa was delicious as well, and I look forward to trying more from the menu soon! read more

Great food and great service I was a little disappointed that they don't sell breakfast all day Saturday but that's ok because the menudo and homemade flour tortilla were so good I would skip the chips and salsa if you come alone not worth 2.25 you won't eat them all. We were visiting from out of town, didn't have any idea where to go eat. This place popped up on Yelp and we decided to try for breakfast. I ordered the migas and it was super yummy! The tortillas were fried perfectly with the eggs and it came with some hashbrowns and beans, throw some of their salsa on top and it was perfect. Exactly what I needed! My boyfriend had the menudo and let me try some also, it was delicious. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area. read more

Would post 2.5 stars if I could. I am being generous. Medium quality food at cheap prices. It is a small unassuming Mexican Food cafe. Meals served on melamine plates. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and were waited on immediately by a very friendly guy. The salsa is obviously homemade and has a real kick to it. The combination dinners we had were excellent. The food was hot and flavorful. The atmosphere is what I would expect of a mom-and-pop establishment. Being from the southern most part of Texas where the smell of hot fresh tortillas is daily, I spend most of my time when traveling, finding a great place to eat. Especially, one that serves up tortillas just like home. Now if you don't know where the southern most part of Texas is, it's as far south as you can go down by the border. Where the Mexican cuisine is the finest. Well being in brownfield for about two weeks now we hadn't found a great place to eat....till today. This has to be hands down the best Mexican food I've had in West Texas! Amazing fresh homemade tortillas, great salsa, and even better barbacoa! This is a gem that's located in brownfield! Was very disappointed after seeing high number of stars. Can't say we found anything enjoyable about the food. Had to pay for chips and salsa that we don't experience in most Mexican restaurants. All you could taste in salsa was garlic. I must say the service was good. read more
