Seasonal piña colada matcha
Caitlin N.

We're big fans of Momomaru next door so whenever we stop by for lunch there, we get an afternoon pick me up from Ten. I love their strawberry matcha and which I could have a larger glass of it. I've also enjoyed their seasonal piña colada matcha. My husband enjoys their cortado and father in law liked his einspanner latte.

I'm not sure if it was an off day but I was super excited to go to Ten to try their bagel sandwiches especially after seeing so many photos of them but was pretty disappointed. I ordered The Vine ($9.50) which is an open-faced bagel with cream cheese and sliced heirloom tomatoes. It took around 20 mins to come out even though my friend and I were the only ones there on a Sunday morning. The staff informed me that they ran out of tomatoes so they had to go out and get some but I wish they would've told me that before I ordered so that I could've been prepared or just ordered something else. When I got the sandwich it looked nothing like the photos I saw and the tomato chunks were massive and not cut properly. The textures overall were also really off since the actual bagel was a bit stale. I don't think it was worth $10 and the staff weren't super friendly either. I tried a sip of my friends matcha and it was decent but idk I wouldn't come back.

We stopped by TEN Coffee while we were in Salt Lake City, right next to Momomaru, and I really enjoyed my latte. I was able to substitute coconut milk, which I always appreciate. There was something about the coffee that felt really earthy and natural to me. It didn't taste like the overly sweet, syrup-heavy lattes you can get at just about any coffee shop. It had this rich, almost straight-from-the-earth quality to it. Like someone went into the mountains, found the rarest little coffee plant, picked the beans, and decided to make coffee out of it. TEN also has a really calm ambiance, which made it a nice little stop after being around downtown. And being tucked right by Momomaru makes it especially convenient if you're doing both.

Brand new shop in SLC! Honestly the coffee was pretty solid. It's a new shop but the beans were dialed in well. They use specialty coffee and treat each drink like a craft. Plenty of options and a few pastries to choose from. The space follows the current trend for shops, with a modern/industrial vibe, throwing in wood elements for warmth. I would not recommend working from this shop, as the only tables are logs, and the seats are more like bleachers. Also, no WiFi and terrible phone signal. But it's not bad for a quick drink and the coffee is good. All the staff was super nice and this shop is the same owners as holy water. It's a clean design, and I'm excited to see how the shop will evolve in the future!

Very well crafted coffee- tried the Ten Einspanner, beautifully done, not too sweet just how well crafted should be, but enough to put a unique spin on a better version of a mocha. Ambiance is stunning, goes perfectly with Momomaru's complimentary vibes and just overall very well done. Service was a bit slow but they are truly understaffed but still slaying it with only having two baristas. The quality for how busy they were with only having two on staff was pretty epic and impressive really. Hopefully they can staff up because the coffee was beautiful and I will certainly be back for more!

i love a good coffee shop. TEN is located in a cozy spot attached to momomaru so you can get some hand rolls and matcha to start your day. I love the bright natural lighting and their raw wood accents. Its got great outdoor seating too. I loved my matcha but unless your a big sparkling water person i would avoid the coconut water matchas, something about bubbling matcha that just didnt hit with my taste buds. But i will definitely be back ive heard amazing things about their matcha affogato!

Wow wow wow! Potentially the best latte I've ever had in Salt Lake, the barista was super friendly, and that atmosphere is really cool. Excited to go back in the summer and enjoy some of their outdoor seating and try some of their other specialty bagels.

I saw this cute shop pop up on my TikTok and am glad i finally got to try it! Aesthetically, this shop is sooo cute and definitely built for conversation. There's some seating inside and outside. I wouldn't recommend this shop for studying / working because there are no tables, just wooden stumps as benches/chairs. I got their einspanner and my partner got their hojichai. I expected something different from their einspanner and tbh, it just tastes overall really milky, maybe that's how it's supposed to taste....im unsure. My friend enjoyed their hojichai, but it was definitely on the sweeter end. I would come back here to try their espresso or cold brew. The beans they had on display smelled really good so I'm sad i didn't get to fully taste and try their coffee.

Chocolate Croissant

This place is hidden in a little nook downtown! I never would've known it was there if it wasn't for the Coffee Crawl pass! Their chocolate croissant is quite yummy, and their bagel sandwiches looked QUITE appetizing so I will have to return. Also there's indoor and outdoor seating! Outdoor seating is right outside on asphalt though, so its not the prettiest view but you can definitely feel the sun and the breeze. I couldn't make a solid determination on how good their service was, since I just ordered a croissant. Everyone there was very nice and welcoming, we struck up conversation quickly!

Another good coffee shop for SLC, with its own unique atmosphere. I went during what i'd imagine is peak hours on a Saturday, and while it was bustling, it wasn't packed; there was still seating. It only took about five minutes for my latte to be made, and the cashier was helpful in answering all my questions. She said that their cappuccino is the best thing on their menu, confirmed by a coffee connoisseur friend of mine, but I opted for a latte. With asking for less milk, the drink turned out great... Much more and I don't think it would have been nearly as good, but with however much was in mine, the true flavor came out beautifully. The same friend of mine said that he would soon be curating an art exhibit at the shop so I'll be looking forward to see what other community engagement they offer as they grow their crowd!

Cold Brew, Matcha Latte
Taylor N.

Went into this with high hopes since I saw a lot of reviews/popularity on social media. When we walked in, we were greeted very quickly and the place seemed decently packed. There's a good amount of seating, but we were going to take out drinks to-go anyways. I ordered the matcha latte with vanilla syrup and the cold brew. As someone who makes my own matcha lattes at home every day, I have some high expectations for buying matcha outside. The matcha here had a good color and was ceremonial grade. It looked beautiful upon arrival. However, after mixing it and trying it, it was honestly a 6/10 due to it tasting powdery as if it wasn't whisked enough. The matcha flavor was also too light, so it tasted mostly of milk. The cold brew was also alright. Overall, this a cute shop, the workers are super nice, but I wouldn't drive the distance I did for the quality of the drinks.

REALLY expensive and REALLY not good. Spent $20 on the smallest coffees with tip. For nothing.

Which was made up of perfectly fried pork topped with Dukes mayo (my fav), ranch-kraut (my new fav), and dill. You can really taste the ingredients which is such a plus for me as too many ingredients in a sandwhich can get muddy. - They had a special butternut squash soup with calabrian chili which was phenomenal. At only $3 it was a perfect side for winter. CONS: - Pricey. I think at this price point if it added a bag of chips or some time of fruit or a small little side or maybe a can of soda included it would be a perfect meal and a very reasonable price point. My only suggestion.

I…read morehad noticed Deadpan from some foodie articles and accounts - amazingly, they decided to keep their business going due to the massive support they received when they announced their closure a few months ago. The owner was kind and helped me pick between the two sandwiches I was being indecisive about - the Oh Schnitzel and the Hot Chopped Cheese. He asked if I could handle spicy and I said yes. I let him choose a sandwich for me between the two and he chose the Hot Chopped Cheese and said he thinks I'd enjoy it. He described it as a sandwich with chopped-up cheeseburger fillings inside, and they use a lamb and beef patty instead of just beef. Right, he was. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and the meat was spiced and slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. The sandwich was flavorful, and I'm impressed that the bread wasn't too thick because sometimes places serve sandwiches with way too much bread-to-filling ratio. The bread was also a nice texture, I'm glad it wasn't too toasty or crunchy like some sandwiches can get that rub the roof of my mouth raw. I felt like I had a well-balanced meal out of the Chopped Cheese. Flavor-packed meat, cheese, veggies, bread - that's all you need. The food was delicious, and I don't doubt that the rest of the items on the menu taste great, but the prices feel high, yes, even in this economy. I say this because I was able to finish this sandwich and still felt I had room to eat some more, perhaps a little snack. I almost always cannot comfortably finish my food in one sitting when dining out, so that was a sign to me that this wasn't all that much food, and I could tell from the get-go because the sandwich did look small.

It is on 500 s which is a one way road so be sure to look out for that when getting there. They have parking out front. I'm OBSESSED with the concept here with the Big Dipper name and fun dipping menu. All the sandwiches are a play on a French dip with a themed au jus substitute. For example, they have a banh mi with a pho soup you can dip it in. I got the grilled cheese which came with tomato soup to dip it in. The sandwich was INCREDIBLE. The goat cheese really added a great flavor. The soup was good. Better for dipping than just eating. I'm excited to go back and try more. I also want to try the tots. They have a station with lots of sauce options. They have a soda fountain as well as a few other drinks. The Diet Coke was good. Very crisp! They have a fridge with more options too. The girl working was nice. They had a good size seating area. Highly recommend grabbing a sandwich here.

We tried the Cubano and Saigon. Both were filling, interesting, and tasty. The Cubano wasn't as balanced as I would have liked- some more pickles or acid I think would have helped. Their salads were impressive for a hearty sandwich shop. My kids loved their corn dogs and tater tot. Their tots come in fun shapes and are hard fried so they aren't super soft and potatoey in the center. I also enjoyed the cucumber juice. It was a little sweet but overall had good flavor. They had fries on the menu and in the pictures of the kids menus but they wouldn't let me pick fries for a side for the kids menus online.

Ordered a 1/2 turkey avocado sandwich on toasted ciabatta bread (my choice) with chips and iced dark mocha. All under $20.00. Absolutely delicious! Exactly like hers with those tasty flavors! I'll be back for that too! Yum! That little trip to look for a sandwich really paid off! Sweet little spot with exceptional customer service! I got it on white bread with fries, and the fries came out crispy and paired nicely with the sandwich. Between the sandwich and the fries, it was a filling meal and I left satisfied. Where it fell a little short for me was the value. My total came out to around $21 with the fries, which felt a bit expensive for a sandwich meal, especially considering the amount of pastrami was fairly modest. It was enough to make the sandwich filling, but at that price point, I would have expected a little more meat to help justify the cost. That being said, I enjoyed the food and would come back to try some of the other sandwiches on the menu. With prices going up everywhere, I understand that eating out has gotten more expensive, but this still felt a little high for what you get. Overall, it was a good and satisfying sandwich--I'd just be more inclined to come back regularly if the portion felt a little more in line with the price.
